Dinner was marred a bit when she asked why I was so sad lately.  I'm not one who enjoys talking about feelings.  My guess was she wanted to know that it wasn't her.  I didn't have time to PM Elize or the rest of you for advice so I had to wing it.  I didn't even know I was sad, but we talked a bit about job stress, chronic back pain keeping me from doing what I want to do, and the joy of eating boring food day after day and were able to move on.

You know you got it right. Gmmmff and then you men say you don't understand women! :P From my perspective: I just want to know my husband knows he can share with me, then his burden is less, and yes, also that he isn't unhappy with something I've done, and it basically tells me what I should or shouldn't do next.

Hah.  Your google-fu is much stronger than mine. I can't believe you found all of that out. I asked Mrs. Sloth and she said, "No, I don't know, maybe.  Why are you looking at scantily clad Russians?"

I'm down with a flu and spent the better half of yesterday in bed, sipping tea (when I drink tea instead of coffee, something is very wrong).
So, what better could one do to distract from the misery than 1) researching vintage off-road trucks and  2) looking at scantily clad russian ladies? B)

Talking about feelings.

Men also have feelings, like ... errr... hunger. Which, ironically, is something most women have a hard time understanding.

I'm sorry about the feelings talk and the slow painting, but I thoroughly enjoyed your story about knife shuttling and Russian babes with flamethrowers.

Lots of people in Utah wear those jeans with the white thread.  I don't really love the look.  My rear already looks enough like a highway lane of traffic, thank you very much.

I'm glad you enjoy my thread. TBH I don't quite understand why people come back, my day to day life seems dull to me.

I'll refrain from talking about your rear again ;)

2/20/17 Monday - President Day

It was a good day; I had it off from work.  We've had a crazy schedule this year, not many full weeks.  Personally, I'd rather work through them and get more summer. I was sick with squid poisoning most of the day. I did a bit more painting, but mostly I dilly-dallied.  Mrs. Sloth made mushroom steaks for dinner.  They had the consistency and taste of squid, I couldn't eat them.

Training: DDP Energy

Eating: Back on point

2/21/17 Tuesday

It was a good day.  Nothing of interest to report. Except I got the okay from Mrs. Sloth to do one of those big charity rides, The Red Ribbon Ride. It'd be 300 miles over 4 days this summer.  I'm hesitant because you have to raise $1500 and I don't have many friends or family.

Training: DDP Red Hot Core & 45 minutes on the trainer.  I need to be riding longer, but I'm not, so I ratcheted up the intensity a couple of notches.

Eating: on point.  I've added rice cakes to my pile of emergency food at school.  I don't find them satisfying.

I've avoiding gluten-free substitutes. When I was in Tennesee we biked to Krogers every day for dinner and fruity wine. I'd never been in one before; it was nice. It was a good day.  The Day Without Immigrants gave me about half a class to teach. The day was pretty relaxed. Even though all of the students that have behavior issues were at school (their parents never, ever let them stay home) I didn't have to deal with any behavior issues.  I attribute that to more individual attention and better surveillance with only 14 students per hour.

It's a little ironic that The Day Without immigrants made your day easier.  The whole point of the protest was to show how much they contribute.

Thanks for all the kind offers for pledges.  I'll let you know if I decide to do it.  Obviously.

Today I'm at home with a sick Slothboy.  He just threw up again.  *bleh*

I am really fretting and worrying about my job.  It's pushed me into the depressed category.  I still haven't heard when the discipline hearing will be or that they decided I don't need one. Ugh. The district is facing a $28 million shortfall next year.  Last time that happened they fired everyone they could fire (tenure doesn't protect jobs the way it used to) ahead of layoffs. My principal thinks they'll just drop the matter, but I'm freaking out that they'll throw the book at me and I'll be out of a job.  Aargh, I just wish I knew what was going on.

Anyway, the point is I won't decide on the charity ride until I know that I have discretionary income or any income for that matter.

Now that I have tackled slothbelly (mostly), the next dragon is debt.  This has convinced me that I'm not cushioned well enough from stupidity and/or accidents.  I'm assuming I'll keep my job, even though I'm freaking out right now, but it's not too hard to imagine an old man on a mountain bike becoming unable to work and needing a cushion.

Step 3: Pay off debt, which will allow me to

That's a tough spot to be in.  The wheels of beaurocracy move too slowly for normal humans.  This is easier said than done but it's probably best to not fret about something that isn't concrete and sounds like it is just as likely not going to turn into anything but to also just be frugal for the time being as a precautionary measure.  But regardless, I'm sorry you have to suffer through this.
