Windranger
Self-Love Last week I read a book called "Wie's weitergeht, wenn nichts mehr geht" by Jens Baum. The title can be translated as: "How things are going on when nothing's going on anymore". One chapter of this book is about self-love. Jens Baum says: "Self-love is a mindful, caring, respectful, responsible and loving relationship with oneself." He sees two positive aspects in having self-love:You don't burden your friends and family with responsibility for your well-being anymore. You are feeling better, because you can take care of yourself most effective.Jens says self-love has nothing to do with egoism, moreover a person with self-love cannot be egoistical at all. In his book he explains why. This challenge will be about my way to loving myself for what I am. Main Quest: Love myself 1st Mission: Autogenic Training I got a book and CD for Autogenic Training and already started exercising. It's wonderful, I enjoy the exercising very much. After every training I am feeling fresh and free. The task is to do the Autogenic Training at least once per day. 2nd Mission: Yoga I have done the following Yoga Workout two times now and it's beneficent. The task is to do this Yoga Workout once per day. 3rd Mission: Positive Thinking It's typical for me that I see everything negative. If there's something slightly wrong it becomes a huge failure inside my head. The task is to stop derogatory thoughts, accept what has happened and come up with a good plan for moving on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YN72QsiaIM 3 Quote "The purpose of life is to be happy." - Tendzin Gyatsho, the 14th Dalai Lama Character Link to comment

Windranger
Dir auch ein frohes neues Jahr Thank you for the welcome I like the book very much. I am going to give it to my dad the next time we meet because he is in a way more problematic situation than me and I had to think of what he is complaining about all the time while reading the book, it described his life way too well. Started reading it one evening, fell asleep, continued reading as soon as I was awake again and read it out. Felt so understood by reading and so many things were coming clear to me. And I just lost one life ♥ luckily the challenge hasn't started yet EDIT: But due to trying to avoid the negative thought I worked out a plan to get rid of it. I stop studying. I am destroying myself with this and I simply have to accept that I am not made for this, that this is not what I want to do. I am looking forward to working: to programming, planning, learning new things which I can actually use I made that decision and this time I need to abide by it. Windranger
Hi LittleTurtle (your name and picture are so cute!! *_*) Reading that you smiled on my post put another smile on my face. Is this a smileception? Thank You for your kind words! I found some jobs which would be perfect for me. But so extremely perfect that I am dying to send my application to the companies. I love making plans, love organizing, arranging, writing documentations - so project management would be something great for me (we also had such courses at university) - I have a huge interest in technical stuff like programming, electronics, mechanics, control engineering and so on (studied automation engineering) and there are jobs that fit those things really, really well and are near to where I live. Guys.. there is no way I could describe how amazing I am feeling. ♥ That's such a huge burden that has fallen off my shoulders. 3 Quote "The purpose of life is to be happy." - Tendzin Gyatsho, the 14th Dalai Lama Character Link to comment
cavemom
Your challenge sounds so interesting! I think self-love is so important, but something that most people struggle with at least some of the time. It does ease the burden for others when they don't feel like they're responsible for our happiness. I'm so glad to hear you're feeling amazing! I hope the feeling has continued. Talvi
Advice No1: Read through your challenge intro again. Advice No2: You are not a rubbish person. You must have got good grades in order to get into the crazy hard German university system (so you are clever) and you had a part-time job whilst you were a student (that shows independence, initiative and responsibility). Aside from the fact that you may have done training days, that you may have taken part in clubs, sports, hobbies or groups, that you have skills in programming and electronics (IT is one of the major rapidly developing fields at the moment), that you speak very good English and that you will have good references - I must remind you that you a fricking awesome. Advice No3: Since the German education system is really harsh (according to the French, Spanish and British standards), there will be lots of people who are your age and have not gone to university at all. You will have more academic experience than most of them. Advice No4: Take little steps to look for the right job, and remember that you might have to work up to positions of responsibility. Firstly, I recommend sitting down and making your CV look epic and full. There are loads of resources on the web to help, but make sure you emphasize useful things for certain applications (like your project management modules). I would be happy to look at your CV if you like (you could remove all the sensitive information) and even if it is is German, I can help with its appearance. Then I suggest trudging through the scary pile of job advertisements and throwing your application at everything - personalize the ones you really like. Take it slow and make short-term plans. I was unemployed for a whole year in 2012/2013; it was really frustrating. Advice No5: It is never too late. There are volunteering opportunities, education alternatives, apprenticeships, internships, free online courses, short-term paid work abroad, professional schemes, etc, etc. P.S. <3 Strength Shieldmaiden P.S.S. Windranger
Have done nothing from my challenge so far. This is bad news yep. But there are good news also. Had my first day of my new side job as a dishwasher. It's awesome!! The people are so great, the working stations itself are excellently constructed and it was much fun today. It's a bit exhausting, to do this for five hours in a row, especially because I am not so used to much physical labor but only housework anymore. Now there's money to continue studying. I really have no idea how I should be able to manage all of the workload but there must be a way and I am going to find it. So my official challenge start: Monday, 12th January 2 Quote "The purpose of life is to be happy." - Tendzin Gyatsho, the 14th Dalai Lama Character Link to comment

"How do I do that?" I asked him. So he answered: "Go to university tomorrow and be happy about that achievement!" I cannot tell you how encouraging this was And when I left in the morning: "And you will go to university today, right? I know you can do this!" ♥ Bad side of the day: Problems with dad.. lead to stress eating, luckily just a bowl of chocolate cereals. LittleTurtle
I agree with your boyfriends advice. Instead of focusing on the things you DIDN'T do, only focus on the wins for each day. Windranger
Only ate half of the pizza, was full then I got the CD Fiction by Dark Tranquillity as my alarm clock from the stereo. Yesterday I woke up during the 7th song and today also.. so a long time that the music is playing already until I realize it.. ;D Turning up even louder next time, I hope that helps. Today there was no time for anything, just ate two toasts in the morning and then had lunch at university; Yoga and Autogenic training still not done. Windranger
stepped on the scale.. 68 kg. i am only 163 cm tall and due to the fasting I had lost a lot of muscle and hardly built up any again yet. ouch... whatever, boobs got bigger, I am fine also ate lots of salad, fruits and good meals plus doing yoga and autogenic training this week. so no reason to panic at all have done the yoga and autogenic training, went to bed then. did the fall asleep exercise when I went to bed and was gone within one or two minutes ;D and damn.. i had very crazy, vivid dreams *scared* made greek salad, three times as large as the bentobox-portion, and had some bites. doing anyother yoga workout and autogenic training now to make up for the outstanding tasks from yesterday and then finish the salad what comes very evident during the yoga workouts is that I drink way too less water and during the workouts I feel like my organs are sticky because of all the chocolate stuff. sounds funny, feels kinda horrible 3 Quote "The purpose of life is to be happy." - Tendzin Gyatsho, the 14th Dalai Lama Character Link to comment

I all ways sleep like a baby in a car or train. Probably. In a car or train? I heard the sound of the train is something like the sound of the sea why it isn't easy for locomotive engineers to not fall asleep But besides that isn't sleeping in those vehicles very uncomfortable? I guess I couldn't, especially because I am afraid I start snoring or talking during sleeping, although this shouldn't matter. Anyway it's surely a great way to spend the journey, this way it goes by fast and you got a rest awesome Have done the second Yoga and Autogenic Training and am eating the salad. Next step is studying measurement methods. 1 Quote "The purpose of life is to be happy." - Tendzin Gyatsho, the 14th Dalai Lama Character Link to comment
