I almost left work early, but stuck it out. Had a nap when I got home, got up and made dinner, ate a little, then went back to bed. Until 12pm the following day. Ugh. Bedroom, nothing, as you can probably guess. I was super pissed about getting sick when i was planning to make my epic Uova in Purgatorio and Broccoli Bagna Cauda, so much so that I made it anyways. I couldn't eat much, but it was delicious. So good. Especially the broccoli. Fonzico Posted January 9, 2015 Author Report Share Posted January 9, 2015 Prepping really does make ALL the difference, it's so much easier to succeed this way. So, I had my first cheating-on-W30 dream last night. Darkfoxx was there too, and we were mowing down on some sour gummy worms (which I know she would never touch IRL!) After we ate a whole bunch of them, we looked at each other and were like "OMG we can't eat these! What were we thinking? Now we have to start over!" I was so sad. And then I woke up and realized it was a dream, and was very happy. I think it's partially coming from this fear I have that I AM going to eat something shouldn't without thinking about it. I even get a little bit paranoid and have to remember what I put in all the meals I make, even though I'm super careful about ingredients when I'm shopping and when I'm cooking. It's silly, I know. In other news, I still feel like crap. I think I might have the flu, (and no, not the carb flu, the real kind). I DID work on the bedroom closet though! I got all the clothes off the floor of it. Now I just need to find homes for all the bags and backpacks that are living in there, and sort the little plastic drawers. For both of you: quit stressing out and turn that stress into mindfulness. Hard to do without worry, but practice some damn zen. I've found myself getting into an anxious knot on occasion (most notably the museum day when my hubby tried everything he could to get enough signal to load the W30 shopping guideline I had on my phone's browser to check whether dried fruit & walnuts in my Epic bar were on the 'no' or 'severely limit' lists while underground in a train station so he wouldn't have to deal with me being hangry during our 40-minute train ride), but in moments like that I've learned to step the F back, take a breath, and realize that this shit isn't worth working myself up over. I'm not going to eat something non-compliant if I have a question and can't get to an answer, and if that means I only have coffee for breakfast, it's not the end of the damn world - I just need to be better prepared with purse snacks. Of course, zen in the face of a frantic hubby on the verge of a meltdown because he's anticipating *my* meltdown is a whole different thing. And generally makes me giggle. Which makes things worse. F, you have had issues with mindlessly drinking cream and snacking before -- but not when doing W30. You'll be fine. You've got this. You did great last time, and there is Absolutely Zero Signs That You Won't Rock It Out This Time. K, you're fine - if 99999999999999 questions makes you stick to W30, question away. That's what we're here for. It's better to question before eating something non-compliant than derailing yourself because you weren't thinking or you gave up. Fonzico Posted January 11, 2015 Author Report Share Posted January 11, 2015 Just slice the cabbage into whatever thickness of "noodle" you want, then either stick it in a casserole dish with a good bit of fat and salt and about a 1/4C of water, cover in foil and roast at 350 for about an hourish, stirring every 20 mins. Or you can do it on the stove, same idea, fat, water and cover it. I know it's silly, but there are times when i open the fridge, or walk past the snack table at work, and a mental train leaves the station without my permission, and I can't help but worry that I'll hop on that train without thinking. But it's never more than a fleeting thought - I've never so much as picked anything up. So it's silly and I'm not going to worry any more. And what happens in my dreams fortunately stays there Week One Days Five and Six Followed W30 Still sick on Friday, so no activity. Saturday, did a proper if light-because-I'd-like-to-be-able-to-move-tomorrow workout: 3x sun salutations for warmup 100 swings (20lb) 2x5 clean and press squats snatches. A whole entire 7 girly pushups [emoji14] Stretching Also worked on the bedroom situation. Still need to do more tomorrow though. Follow reintro protocol for the remaining time in the challenge after the 30 days. 1 pt per successful day / 42 possible pointsA : 42 pts B :38+pts C :34+pts D : 30+pts F : <30pts7 pts achieved! I pouted once (not even about anything specific) and had a couple weird dreams, but other than that, it was a good first week. Even kept up with it when I was sick. And I will say that my skin, which has been mildly but constantly breaking out for months now is already clear, and I fully expect it will stay that way. Goal Number Two:Do something. Anything "active". Every day. Doesn't need to be anything crazy - 10 mins of yoga or a nice walk will do. Obviously a proper workout is even better. Just gotta keep it going! 1 pt per successful day / 42 possible pointsA : 38+pts B :32+pts C :26+pts D : 20+pts F : <20pts4 pts achieved - and I was sick for the three days I missed, so I'm pretty okay with that.
