it really came on when I went from doing regular squats, to pretending that I'm doing gym squats with weight. So I have changed my breathing, I changed my posture, and I am generally just preparing so that when I go into the gym that I am doing weighted squats properly.

I am trying to be positive about muscle soreness, instead of complaining I'm saying oh look how strong I am getting. But it just reminds me how far I have to go.

Kind of glad I didn't go all out yesterday. This morning I am a bit stiff but not sore for my 3hour drive and flight to florida.

The roads are crap. I live about 10 miles from yesterday's nationally reported 120 car pileup with exploding fireworks. Took a zanny while hubby drives.

I was good and packed hard boiled egg and a gluten free muffin for the trip. Trying to minimize road food garbage.

I see cars in ditches. Ugh.

Geez, should have done the math before putting stuff in my mouth. Salad for dinner.

That muffin was NINE POINTS!

Edited to add. Okay, no salad. Bean burger no bun and some waffle fries. Limited options at this hotel. I will eat really clean tomorrow and count on the law of averages.

Edited again. Banged out a bodyweight hotel room workout. Take that, delicious muffin!!! YOU DON'T KNOW ME!!!

Mini Quest!

Is your overall quest achievable (over a short or long period of time)? Is it reasonable?

Sure!

Do your 3 quests all build towards your main quest in little ways, or are you taking on too much? Do your quests have sub-quests or is it just one thing to focus on?

I think it all centers around developing routine and discipline, while exploring new options. I did eliminate one of my original goals. What I have now seems good.

Are your main goals realistic? Can you scale them to smaller steps to fit your life better, even if it will make it take a little longer to achieve them?

I think so. Time will tell! :)

Are your goals able to be measured and tracked? What will you use to track them?

I added a scoring system this past week.

How are you grading your goals? Are they pass/fail (“every dayâ€, “not even once over the six weeksâ€)? Is there a reward for the effort, or are you only grading yourself on whether or not you “lose the weight†or “run the distanceâ€?

Grading for effort and trends, not specific outcomes. But since follow through is a weak point, I'm trying to be really honest about if an effort is REALLY an effort.

What is your plan for continuing/altering/grading those goals if you become ill or injured?

Hadn't thought about it. I would probably alter to just do what I could do. Different ability level, different quests are appropriate.

Did you take into consideration any special occasions (Labour Day, Independence Day, birthdays, anniversaries, etc) that may occur during the challenge?

I don't celebrate holidays if I can avoid it. But we are just starting vacation including a week long cruise. I'm just trying to focus and create a plan for each day.

Do any of your main goals conflict with each other? Will one goal make it hard to do another?

I don't think so.

Do you already have the time in your schedule to actually complete the goals you’ve set? If not, what are you planning to do to make time for them?

I got nothing but time.

Okay, off the ship now. I did...

Two days of stronglifts 5x5 with dumbbells... Ship didn't have barbells. Each preceded by dreadmill for warmup.

Acrobatic zip lining. Like somersaults and flips and whatnot. With tons of climbing stairs and rope bridges. Roatan.

Climbing Altun Ha in Belize.

Scuba two different days. Grand Cayman and Costa Maya.

Lots of stairs on the ship.

Mostly ate salmon and omelets but still gained a few pounds.

We are staying at MacDill Air Force Base till we fly Tuesday pm. Our lodging is just across from the gym and track. Tomorrow I'm going to try tire flipping. Since there are a couple right there.

I've been thinking about reenlisting a lot. Turns out I can't go active duty... Too long of a break in service, six years is the max and I'm at 11. Reserve or Guard are my choices. Miniscule possibility of transferring from reserve or guard to active but that only rarely occurs.

I need to pick a billet.

Wow, I can't lift a tire at all!!

Did a mile walk this morning, mile and a half walk/jog just now, 10 calf raises, and climbed six flights of stairs on an old historical warship. Misc walking around Tampa tourism sites.

Tomorrow we fly around dinnertime. I'm going to try to get in some stuff in the morning.

OH!! I (kind of) clocked my evening walk/jog. 25min for 1.5mi. That's a HUGE gap from where I need to be to reenlist. I really need to focus on those standards.

Dang, you'll just have to work back up to it. So if you can get it down to 1.5 miles in 21 minutes that would get you 50% closer to standards and you'd ace your goal? I wasn't sure I understood that part quite right.

You can do it! I believe in you :3

Today was a flight travel day, so we went and walked around the Tampa zoo to get some movement in. Just landed at O'Hare, headed back to Michigan.

Tomorrow we will drive to Lake Superior, so there's another 12 hour travel day Wednesday and Sunday I looked up the gyms near our cabin, so I should be able to work out Thursday - Saturday.

Taking my weapon with, to work on that badassery goal.

Obv, I travel a lot.

Weight fluctuates...... the scale is a jerk like that.

Nice job getting some lifting in!  It always makes me feel better, too.
