Get back in the habit of daily exercising10,000 steps every single dayYoga every single day (even if it's just 5 minutes)2. Start eating betterI will use emeals for meal planning for dinners; less eating out or ordering pizzaI will be smarter about snacks and drinking on the weekends, no more candy except dark chocolateDrink a glass of water when I feel snacky during the day3. Jump rope (I know this is also exercising, but it's more involved, so it's its own goal)Week 1: 5 minutes per dayWeek 2: traveling and will be walking a tonWeek 3: 8 minutes per dayWeek 4: 10 minutes per dayWeek 5: 12 minutes per dayWeek 6: 15 minutes per dayI'm going to try to do the jump roping all at once, but might have to break it up into smaller chunks for the later weeks. On the 10th of this month, we're going to Disneyland. Also, I bet you can keep on track in Disneyland! For one thing it's nothing but walking, and hotel room yoga is a thing that you can do? I've already got my yoga in: My meal planning is going to have to change a bit from what I thought, because we cooked a huge ham yesterday, and I need to use up the leftovers before we leave for our trip this Saturday. cavemom Posted January 6, 2015 Author Report Share Posted January 6, 2015 Day one went okay for me. I got my 10,000 steps in, but it took quite a bit of effort in the evening. Also did my yoga and jump roping. I struggle with the yoga, even though I like doing it. My house is just so cold, and when I roll out my yoga mat, it's like laying or sitting on a cold floor. It doesn't make it very inviting. Eating was pretty good. I drank more water than usual, and snacked less than usual. I don't know why I'm doing it. We have a candy jar with hard candy that my kids got at some birthday party. I don't even really like hard candy. I've got to stop it. Walking today has gone much better than the first two days. Those days I had to do some walking around the house before bed to get the last couple thousand steps. I say that if you are going to snack on candy it had better be treats that you choose and enjoy! Congrats on the walking! cavemom Posted January 20, 2015 Author Report Share Posted January 20, 2015 I'm back. I was on vacation, and just wanted to have a break from all electronics and that kind of thing while I was gone. We had a great time, I got in a ton of walking. 20-30,000 steps on the days we were at Disneyland. But we drove, so the days of travel weren't great. There just wasn't opportunity. My eating wasn't the best, I didn't get any yoga in. So some good some bad. The sad part is that my grandma died while I was there. She was my last living grandparent, and I wasn't able to make it back for her funeral. I've been feeling really sad lately, and am just not feeling any motivation for my challenge right now.
