What's the point in lining drawers? Just curious!

No real point to it really. Totally unnecessary, but I find it just looks nice. Some say it protects your drawer bottom from getting all scratched up from kitchen gadgets/utensils (meh) and stops items from sliding around (true!). Personally, I just think it looks cleaner and prettier with a lining.

Day 14 Report


 


1) Do something good for my body 


Bedtime yoga. So good.


 


2) Do something good for my mind 


Did some serious cleaning. It doesn't just declutter the house; I find it declutters the mind too. Focused on the kitchen, and this week I'm going to try to tackle another area or two. I'm hoping by the end of the challenge that I will have deep-cleaned and reorganized most of my place.


 


3) Do something to relax


Read in bed. Put me right out!

Looking forward to week 3! I'm actually feeling like I might be at the point where I can renew my gym membership. Not sure yet; I'll have to look at my budget and see if I can squeeze it in.

I finally managed to find your thread and wow I completely love your setup. The last half of 2013/first half of 2014 was probably the worst year in my life so I love how you've dedicated goals to your mental and emotional wellbeing. I might have to adjust my goals a bit too!

Cleaning really DOES help your mental state and I know being organized defintely helps when your day becomes chaotic. Keeping my home organizes will be my first priority when I begin moving next month.

Day 15 Report


 


1) Do something good for my body 


Swing dance classes. 3 hours of dance (with breaks)


 


2) Do something good for my mind 


Updated my journal. I had some really sad and upsetting times in December that I didn't write about so it all kept swirling around in my mind. So I took time to get my thoughts on paper. Difficult to do, but better in the long run.


 


3) Do something to relax


Netflix on the couch with a cozied up cat to snuggle. My cat does not normally cuddle, so this was a treat.

I think you are really doing a fine job with the swing dance lessons, i started dancing well if dancing with the just dance xbox 360 kinect counts, I find dancing adds fun to my workouts i do it for like 1 hour everyday:), all in all you are doing one superb job :) hope you keep it up

Day 16 Report


 


Stayed home sick, so unfortunately didn't get to do much and also ate pretty poorly. Oh well, feeling much better today so we're back on track.

Despite not feeling tip-top, I did manage to tidy and organize our dining room. God I love de-cluttering.

Since I felt like crap, I watched Netflix pretty much all day until I went to bed. I'm totally counting this!

Day 17 Report


 


My husband's grandfather passed away yesterday. He will be missed of course, but it was for the best as he was put in a home last year due to rapidly progressing Alzheimer's disease. He was just shy of 90 years old, so he had a long, full life. However, my presence here might be somewhat sporadic as we spend time with family.

Days 18, 19, 20


 


These days were spent with family due to my husband's grandfather's death. Challenge fell by the wayside. I will give myself 3 points as I did take care of my mental health each of these days, but really didn't have the time or inclination to exercise, eat right, or relax.

couple hours of swing dancing

replied to an aggravating e-mail in a non-confrontational way while still not allowing myself to be a doormat (something I used to struggle with a lot). It takes a load off the mind when you take the bull by the horns and call people out on their bs without being argumentative

so much netflix...

Decluttering continues in the entryway and dining room. Also cleaned my kitchen, put away heaps of laundry

Had day off due to blizzard. Stayed in pyjamas all day. SO good.

Working on my sleep pattern was a success yesterday. Was in bed much earlier than I have been in a while and fell asleep faster. I will continue working on this throughout the week.

Was supposed to work, but it got cancelled due to a snow storm. :)

Gonna double-up on the snowshoeing - It was a beautiful day... lots of fresh fallen snow. Being outside really help my mood

You're doing such a great job!! I like the snowshoeing idea...gotta get me a pair. I'm in winter storm land too (15 inches again today and snowing sideways) but I really love the sunny snowy days we've been having in between. Thanks for reminding me to take care of my mental well-being :)

quick afternoon walk to get coffee - I hardly ever leave the office. It felt so good to get out for those 15 minutes. I think next challenge I will try to have that as a goal: to leave the office on a regular basis.

Day 32 Report


 


1) Do something good for my body 


Nope. It was my mom's birthday so the family spent the evening hanging out and eating cake.


 


2) Do something good for my mind 


Hanging out with the family and laughing ourselves silly was pretty good


 


3) Do something to relax


Although I got home late, I did take 30 minutes to have a cup of tea and sit down before going to bed. Taking just that little bit of time before going to bed helps me sleep better. If I go directly to bed after being out, I find I'm too wound up to sleep.
