LittleTurtle
Hello! I, too, battle the dark monster. My doctor suggested I up my Vitamin D3 intake. That seems to help a bit, but I still feel a bit more sluggish and blue during the winter months. Good luck with your goals! I'll be excited to see how it goes! awesomesue
Love your goals. I like to walk or run home from work when I am not biking to commute. Can not ride right now so I was working on walking or running home 2-3 days a week myself. It is only 4.3-6 miles one way depending on the route. I most often take the most direct route home being eager to see my family and all. Awesome to find someone else doing it. Hi LittleTurtle,In the past ive really struggled in the winter, this year i'm trying to be well . . . .not perfect this winter but even . . . .just even and not to low. If that makes sense. Exercize has really helped in the past so has looking forward to something, in college i would buy a new spring dress every winter and hang it up on the wall (its the little things). last couple years i've been combining the two goals and training for a summer charity ride "shrugs" it keeps me going. 1 Quote YellowRoseHalf Elf- Level 2(STR- 0) (STA- 2.25) (DEX- 2.25) (CON- 1.2) (WIS- 4) (CHA- 1)Ranger (past druid)Challanges: 1, 2, 3,CurrentParva scintilla saepe magnam flamam excitat- The small sparkle often initiates a large flame Link to comment

awesomesue
I fashioned my own rain gear that turns out to really help with winter riding. Sadly I have not been able to test it below 19 degree (windchill...24 without) since I am having some bike issues. I love summer rides and watching the seasons change. 1 Quote Food Fight - current challengeYeary Bug Count 0... if you are out and about then you are probably eating bugs. 2015 - 22.5 bugs consumedChasing down the most awesome version of myself one step at a time. The Character Battle Log 1 Daily Mile Link to comment

Drich
Hey i was creepin on ya, and I totally agree with littleturtle the vitamin D is required for a healthy mind, you can get it through supplements (which I do) or tanning helps as well, or spending ample time in the sun which is crazy depending on where you live, like today in Wisconsin with windchill it got to -30f, so yeah, please look into it, that and yoga changed my life! How did the first days go?Last week went well in the sleeping/workout area, not so much in the walk&get some sun department. I'm going to make a special effort to get out and walk this week, walking inside if its crazy cold out. Good luck!!I'm near boston, we've had some cold weather around here but only a few days that went negative. Its those days where I just can't bring my self to go for a walk, hypothermia just isnt worth it. I'm digging yoga lately, especially the "ocean" breathing, been using it to pull me back from unhealthy trains of thought . I think ill give vitamin D a try, it cant hurt. How are things going? yllwrssr4me
This past weekend was good. The little prince and i made it to our local YMCA for a swim in their heated pool . We had a great time. For a couple reasons i was in a dark place at the end of the weekend, but thats ok . . . . today was a better day and tommorow will be better too. this week, i caught a stomach bug so ill be staying away from any kind of intense exersize. I finally set up a physical therapy for my back starting in early February!!! they said they can help me with my foot issues too Monday: yoga with baby and swimming Tuesday + Wednesday: sick with stomach bug Thursday: yoga (maybe) Friday: walk Saturday: walk, in CT for visit Sunday: in CT walking The walking went ok last week, i did really well on getting to bed on time and waking up with out to much snooze. when i started this challenge i thought that minimizing sugary stuff would be the hardest part, but walking at lunch has turned out to be very difficult. next week will be so much easier as ill be away from home. 1 Quote YellowRoseHalf Elf- Level 2(STR- 0) (STA- 2.25) (DEX- 2.25) (CON- 1.2) (WIS- 4) (CHA- 1)Ranger (past druid)Challanges: 1, 2, 3,CurrentParva scintilla saepe magnam flamam excitat- The small sparkle often initiates a large flame Link to comment

yllwrssr4me
Last week was pretty much shot, the stomach bug that i caught ended up . . maybe shrinking my stomach, if thats a thing. I'm pretty sure eveyone at my work thinks im knocked up, i could only eat toast and gingerale last week Wednesday through Saturday. half the time i thought i was knocked up too but then i remember i have 98.7% chemical assurance that that is not possible. This week is going to be diffrent, ill be out of state for work while both of my guys will be dealing with crazy snow in the boston area starting tommorow. So hotel gyms and eating out everynight, it will be ok. Really hopeing that the forced socialization will be kept to a minimum. 1 Quote YellowRoseHalf Elf- Level 2(STR- 0) (STA- 2.25) (DEX- 2.25) (CON- 1.2) (WIS- 4) (CHA- 1)Ranger (past druid)Challanges: 1, 2, 3,CurrentParva scintilla saepe magnam flamam excitat- The small sparkle often initiates a large flame Link to comment

yllwrssr4me
Today went really well, used the elliptical for 30, then did a short round of yoga. on the down side we went to an awsome pie place, me thinking well i cant eat any of that its all gluttened, ill just have a coffee. then the sweet little old lady at the counter said "Oh we have a GF pie, its also sugar free. well its made with splenda." Normally i dont ever ever due fake sugar stuff but . . . . it was delisious. But i had allready indulged at 5am at the airport this morning, so i had 2 high impact carbs not just this week but in one day, but the fake sugar cheesecake with almond crust, if we are splitting hairs here it was sugar free but i'm saying its still counts as 2 treats. 3 Quote YellowRoseHalf Elf- Level 2(STR- 0) (STA- 2.25) (DEX- 2.25) (CON- 1.2) (WIS- 4) (CHA- 1)Ranger (past druid)Challanges: 1, 2, 3,CurrentParva scintilla saepe magnam flamam excitat- The small sparkle often initiates a large flame Link to comment
