Overarching Long-term Goal: Get to ~25% body fat

 

Goal 1: Training

Last challenge I had a goal of finding a new place to lift and getting under the weights at least once/week. I did that so now I’d like to up it to at least twice per week… ooOOOooo

I’d like to continue incorporating cardio, yoga, and BW circuits in my training. Plus we got a sweet pull up bar for Christmas that is all set up! I’ve done probably a total of three jumping chin up holds… Ultimately, I’d like to get the following in in each week:

  • 2 weights sessions
  • 1 yoga session
  • 1-2 cardio sessions
  • 2-3 BW circuit sessions

 

Goal 2: Food

Depending on how much I work out each week, I’d like to stay within 13,300 total cals. Given that, this goal also includes some other restrictions:

  • Continue with NO packaged crap candy from the work jar
  • Limit TWO pints of ice cream over the six weeks – last challenge I don’t think I bought one pint of ice cream (yay!) but ice cream in general was definitely eaten at the sporadic party/event
  • Stay below 30% fat for the week
  • Don’t buy non-paleo items at the grocery store
  • Note that Clark Gregg is holding sriracha in that pic  :love-struck: 

 

Goal 3: Life

Just a few things I need to get done over the next six weeks. There’s not too much on my calendar so I should have plenty of time to tackle them. Work on (or finish) at least one item per week.

  • Purchase and implement a double-tiered lazy susan – I have the bed/bath gift card I just need to get the damn thing
  • Take down and pack up the holiday decorations
  • Return/swap xmas gifts for the correct sizes
  • Clean bathroom – deep clean
  • Sort file cabinet and old receipts
  • De-clutter dresser surface and nightstand drawers

Excited for Agent Carter tomorrow? I hope they're testing it out as a compeltely new series. I want all the tv shows to be Marvel (or Star Wars)!

Oh gods, I have spent so much time cleaning that I never want to look at a scrub brush again. 

 

Best of luck with that deep clean. It lasts all of about 5 seconds :)

 

ugh, i am totally a "keep it clean enough" person too. but i figured this month looked slow and that whole spring cleaning business never happens so i better try to do something while i have the time.

YES! haven't done much research on it other than watch the trailer a few times and wonder whether that girl in the beginning is her wife. i'm so in for all the marvel and star wars tv shows! as long as whedon is at least minimally involved in the marvel ones, which actually reminds me to find out whether he's involved in Carter. hm.

are there SW shows?!

 

Currently only animated, I imagine the production costs would a bitch for live, but I hear whisperings that there will be some coming after episode vii comes out. The main one I'm hearing is a Han Solo origins mini series, which has a pretty good book trilogy. Rogue Squadron would lend itself to a solid series I think. Disney bought Lucas Films with the same type of plan it had when it bought Marvel, so I'm expecting the same sorts of things. Do a few movies, then drop a tv show between movies, followed by a few mini series, more movies, rinse and repeat until people aren't interested any more.

Haha. Oh gods. I'm using that one! My midwest family/friends will dislike me more. But I figure at some point I'll hit a plateau (wait, a bottom), and it can't go any lower.

 

I'm here! I deep cleaned my bathrooms for my dinner party. It's sooooo nice for about a week. Then it's like, "Why do I bother?" :)

Star Wars Rebels?

KOTOR is a trilogy of movies all in itself. Though it's a pity they made Revan a dude in canon. The shock value of the revelation is higher if it's a woman, I think.

haha! i don't even think of it as a religious thing (although, obviously it is). I probably use it because a lot of the books i read do as well.

That sounds like a great plan!  And it led me to the idea of a lazy Susan attached to some clockworks so you could plan out all of your nutrient timing and place your food on the lazy susan and it would rotate around to deliver your food precisely when you needed it!

it. was. disgusting. i was so cold yesterday. i had thick tights on under my jeans, hot hands in my huge socks, a tank top, a turtleneck, a zipup fleece, and a down jacket with a removable waterproof/windproof piece over that. and huge furry northface gloves. i got cold burn on my face. it was brutal! but the SO made me meatball and kale soup for when i got home so I warmed up quick :D

Schedule got a bit whacked since it was the SO’s and mine first time BOTH going to the gym in the morning and then trying to fit in showers at home, etc. I got super cranky but then ended up a million days early for my field work. Oops.

 

Yoga was good, I forgot it was a beginner class but that was totally fine with me. Still got everything stretched out and feelin’ good!

 

Feeling good about my calories so far. I did have an M&M cookie at work on Monday. Although I’ve been doing well with eating the good things and keeping cals in a good place, that effing scale number won’t stop climbing. I’m trying not to let it bother me and just keep up the plan of an average of 1900 cals/day. Last 6-week challenge I averaged at 2032.5 cals/day so just want to see what eating a liiiiittle bit less will do.

I'm such a wuss since I moved off the farm.  Go outside in -20 besides to get in the car and come to work?  No f'n way.  Out of some essential grocery?  Too bad, not leaving house.  Never mind that I used to spend about 1-2 hours everyday during the winter in this kind of weather (or worse) doing chores.

-20C right? ughhhhhhhh it was about -10C when i was outside yesterday. i'm pretty sure i would crackle and break apart if it was any colder. let alone 10C colder.

 

althouuuuugh you were doing chores so probably keeping your heart rate up? i wish it would've been professional for me to take some quick cardio breaks. "excuse me, sir, I'll be right back. i'm just going to do some slippery mountain climbers on the ice over there."
