Goodoug finds his Destiny

The Ranger Guild Master walked towards where the townsfolk had pointed him. His nose told him he was getting closer. He knew that Half Ogre was nearby. Sure enough, he rounded a bend and saw a makeshift camp, and there was GoodDoug, the HalfOgre, finishing eating a pie with his hands.

GoodDoug looked up sheepishly, "I wondered when you were coming to find me."

"Haven't seen you around these parts, what you think you can go save the world and you don't need us any longer?"

GoodDoug shuffled uncomfortably, "I've been..."

"You've been slacking. And it shows. Now come on back to the Tower, we're going to need your strength again"

Going with a Destiny theme as it seemed appropriate right now

I have a confession to make. I've failed the rebellion. Like others, I have gone into the world with my new habits and skills and thought that was enough. I can lie to myself, but my scale and tight clothes won't corroborate those lies. I've started to get back into food tracking with My Fitness Pal and have gone back to the gym after healing my knee and back... but I realized that I don't have the strength to do it alone. I can't solo Vault of Glass, I need a fireteam. In short, I need you guys.

Main quest: Lose fat, gain strength
Motivation: Be around for my kids, feel better

Warlock questline:
Mind of matter. Or more specifically, mind over meals. I must use the power of the light and make sure I don't fill the Void with crap, but rather refuel myself with appropriate food. The goal is two fold: 1) Track every day 2) Eat a primarily Primal diet (85% primal every day)
Awards: Voidfang Vestments (http://destiny.wiki.fextralife.com/Voidfang+Vestments) +2INT +3WIS
Bonus - Work on my game I am building at least 3 nights per week, award, Fate of All Fools scout rifle (http://destiny.wiki.fextralife.com/Fate+of+All+Fools)

Finally- the only way I will survive this challenge is by relying on the Rebellion, on my Fireteam. So, I must check in with at least a small update every day.

Thanks muddydancer!

Yesterday was a day I went into the city for work, which means a lot of time on the road, and not the healthiest choices available. I did my best, and except for the donuts, was primal most of the way.

Just got back this morning from my lifting workout which was mostly squats and moved 8850# total (over 4 tons). Not a terrible start to the week.

For breakfast/lunch I'm having Carnitas with eggs on top and a protein smoothie. yum

Yesterday went well with the lifting and the eating. I tracked everything, and for dinner had beef stew I made during the day. The beef stew is awesome, not completely primal but close enough. 1 7bone chuck roast, a little bit of flour, 1 onion, 5 carrots, 3 potatoes, 3 big chard leaves from my garden, salt, pepper, bay leaf, rosemary and 1.5 bottles of red wine (really 3 half bottles that we hadn't finished) plus some water and put it in the oven after browning the meat a little. Once it is done, the meat falls apart and it is so rich and satisfying.

Only got in two pull ups yesterday, mainly because I forgot to do more of them - oops. Need to build the habit of doing a couple every time I walk by the hang board. Worked on my game for a while last night and feel good about the progress.

This morning I had a protein smoothie and for lunch just finished some of the leftover stew. Went for a run this morning (2 miles, those squats yesterday left my legs a little wobbly today so didn't want to push it)

Realizing that I'll need to push it to keep from burning out mid way. But the best challenges are when I can do that, so here we go!

Also, I feel really bad listening to all of you dealing with freezing temperatures... I'm sitting on my deck typing this out having just taken off my shirt so I could soak up some sunshine here in sunny California.

I love the way you set this up, even though I haven't played Destiny yet. It's on the list, but for now all I have is a 360.

Soak up that sun for me -- it was -1*F when I got home from work today! Brrrrrr.

Yesterday ended up fine. We ate take out barbecue, which would have been fine, but our friends brought over a custard and fruit tart for dessert. I didn't eat too much, and I tracked it all... but something yesterday made me really sick. My tummy doesn't feel good and I ran a fever last night. yuk

But, that means a forced rest day, and its really easy to track your meals when all you can find the will to ingest is water.

Did my pull-ups yesterday, even have done a few today.

I'll try and rest tonight so I can get to work tomorrow (big day at work, I don't want to miss it). And then hopefully get some more rest on the weekend.

Finally feeling better today. Yesterday was difficult for a few reasons (not excuses, reasons ;) ) Mostly because it was Friday of Hackweek here at work, which means I didn't get much sleep the night before (trying to finish my hack) lots of stress (presenting our teams hack to lots of people, including some of the execs) and access to donuts... lots and lots of really yummy donuts. Couple that with eating very little the day before (as in 150 calories little) and I felt justified in eating 4 donuts over the course of the day.

Needless to say, the hack went awesome, my tummy didn't feel any better, and I didn't get any exercise in other than lugging my computer and monitor up and down three flights of stairs (and my pull-ups, somehow)

I don't look at it as a setback but a speed bump. I got some exercise in today in the form of yard work, and I expect to get back on track tomorrow and Monday.

Food today is good so far, and I think I can make it good tomorrow as well. Weekends are a little tougher for me for some reason, but I think I have this one figured out.

Mmmm....donuts :) No matter how "on a roll" I am with healthy eating, donuts always seem to have a really powerful siren song. Even though I know I won't feel good later. Mmm... now I feel like Homer Simpson.

Glad work went well! Happy weekend!
