Deadlift with 40 kg was feeling a lot harder than the rest, liked that a lot! Next one sunday morning! I'm starting right at the beginning basically right from the bar . Haha! HULK SMASH! And yes! It'll feel good to be able to (properly) lift 30KG. My current weight is only 53KG, so half my bodyweight is only 26.5KG. Shouldn't take long to surpass that :3. 1 Quote Link to comment

I don't have a plan and after reading your suggestion, I now have one. I will be starting early Monday morning, by which time you will have done 3 days worth of exercises. Let us know how your progress is going. Theredphoenix, as you said I think most of us are pretty inexperienced. I am a fairly small guy myself and have never really been strong, so you are already ahead of me with the bar! I was doing a mix of dumbbell programs for the first couple of weeks, whilst eyeing up the scary looking barbell section. When i finally got the courage to go over and get used to it (and found out that I could actually even lift the bar), I switched over to stronglifts. I think dumbbells are a great midpoint, but eventually it's a good idea to move over to barbells . @Leimanu - Welcome! @Benaiah - Sounds great! Glad to have you on board ! I'm starting with Stronglifts, though I'm not doing squats everyday (I like doing spinning and cardio activities, but I'll put more efforts on strength training instead of cardio in the next weeks). Since we were celebrating my boy's 5th birthday it had to be early since people where coming over at 11:00am. When i told my wife about this plan on saturday, it felt like i i was the ring... "The eye of Sauron fixated on me". (That;s not a first ) (just kidding she's not as bad as i make her look ) I just thought if i got everything ready on time that it would be possible to go. But when my boy came up with his birthday present i knew that it wasn't gonna work out this way. So last night i packed my bag with workout clothes and today i'm gonna cut work half an hour short and go straight to the gym before going home (with her permission ofcourse ). I think I've learned the squat well enough, same with the bench. But I don't really know how to do the other lifts yet. Looks like I'll be watching form videos in the gym tonight. Are we tracking progress? Based on lift gains? Based on completing the exercises? Or are we just people with common methods chatting? My last workout was Saturday, and I did workout B! This idea for a group is great, I hope it keeps going throughout the challenge Saturday workout:Squat: 1x5@ 45lbs, 1x5@55 lbs, 5x5@ 70 lbsOverhead Press: 1x5@25lbs, 5x5@40 lbsDeadlift: 1x5@75 lbs The sets before my 5x5 sets are warmups, just in case that isn't clear. I usually do an additional warm up with bodyweight squats and such before beginning the 5x5 as well. Next workout is tomorrow! Quote Goal: Deadlift a (Female) Wookie (100 kg): 65.8% Link to comment
theredphoenix Posted February 23, 2015 Report Share Posted February 23, 2015 Stronglifts: Squat- 5 x 5 @20KGOH Press-5 x 5 @ 10KG (tried to do 12.5 but it was too much, so went back to the bar) Deadlift-1 x 5 @ 30KG (actually did 32.5 x 5 for the lawls at the end, but 30 keeps it round.) Note: I'm currently doing squats and sometimes bench's on a squat rack because there is literally no squat rack at my gym. I didn't realise this when i signed up, so i'm making the most of it until they either invest, or until my contract's up. 1 Quote Link to comment
