New people: welcome, we're people who want to lose weight and plan on cheering each other on to make sure we stick to sensible goals to accomplish that! First: Read below! Second: Look at your challenge goals, make sure they're sensible. You want to make sure you're not eating too little, you want to make sure you're getting enough nutrients, you want to make sure your exercise plan is effective, but not going to break you by Week Two so you have to sit the rest of the challenge out. Don't bite off more than you can chew. Hurr. Third: If you want to join us, say hi, and link to your current challenge thread. Mention what you struggle with, and what you could help other people with. Fourth: We were so numerous we had to split into teams last time. We will do so again as soon as someone volunteers as Team 2's leader. I'll add team lists below once we split. Try and keep tabs on a couple of people in your team. If you have the time to follow your whole team or the whole group, great, but don't stress about following lots of people. Team 2's thread is HERE! This time round, we're not going to measure progress as weight lost - we're going to measure it as how many days you stick to your goals for. (So, you score yourself out of 7 at the end of each week, and the team with the highest average total that week wins the glory. Scores below.) My goals have been stepped up this challenge. I really want to take this to the next level. Last year made great strides but I need to step it up. My exercise goals are a little lofty so I am reserving the right to adjust weekly.3. My challenge goals are a little different this time around as I am arrogantly assuming I have my diet and strength workouts sufficiently dialed in that they don't need to be goals, instead I've got other activities I'm trying to develop. I believe they're all fairly sensible nonetheless. I struggle somewhat at fighting inertia, so having some folks keep an eye on me will help in changing my habits. I will need help on staying accountable for both of those areas. It's my first one ever so you should all keep your fingers crossed for me.I've been losing weight for almost 6 weeks now and I want to keep going. I'm sticking to the Paleo diet, doing the body weight workout, and weightlifting. I also want to focus on working on my languages, getting more sleep, and eating more protein. DrFeelgood Posted February 20, 2015 Report Share Posted February 20, 2015 Sweet, I get to be a doodly this time. There are those who call me Tim. I'm not an enchanter, though I have been known to warn others of the potential ferocity of certain rabbits. For some reason, they never take me seriously. I'm on my second challenge after thoroughly enjoying my first. I've set up this whole year for my family to focus on health, which means first getting to healthy body-weights for myself and MrsFeelgood (not on NF, yet). My four kids (10, 9, 8, and 6) inherited my metabolism so they do just fine eating whatever they want, for now; but I want them to learn and understand healthy (not obsessive) eating habits so they'll be aware of the need to eat more deliberately when (not if) that awesome hereditary metabolism ultimately betrays them around age 25 or so. I also want them to learn along with me as I train my body into just a freaking specimen. My biggest struggle is with complacency. I love food. I've managed to avoid nearly all of the other common vices, but I just love to eat, cook, smell, read, and watch shows about good food. I got very complacent about my dietary health (because I got away with bad habits for so long), so I've decided that "good enough" wasn't cutting it anymore. Now my obstacle is to avoid getting complacent again because I can very easily be satisfied with partial successes, and that obstacle gets tougher at home where MrsFeelgood gets frustrated at her own lack of progress; consequently she isn't terribly excited about my successes. It's very tempting to want to slow myself down to try and keep her feelings from getting hurt. That's what has derailed me in the past. This is my first challenge so I think having the extra motivation of a group will help. Plus, I want to spread my socially awkward wings and try talking to people on the boards. So... Hi. Here is my challenge. It is really, really simple. I have different goal weights for myself and happen to be close to my next one so I started with that. I forgot to add a life quest but I suppose its the shyness, social thing so this group will help me with that anyway. I have been eating paleo for awhile so I have some pretty great recipes to offer. I also have the wisdom that comes from age, so there's that. Some the things that trip me up are getting on the scale too often (impatience) and getting bogged down in the details without letting myself just feel through the process. Fitness wise, my stiff joints and sore muscles are really getting me down. I started a couple of years ago with a great accountability group, and that made all the difference! I lost something like 30lbs, gained muscle and energy, and was in the best shape of my life. Then I got derailed, and here I am again not quite at square one, but not far. This time around I'll be working on paleo eating, a fitness plan that combines yoga, martial arts, and weight training, getting more sleep, and learning ASP.NET. My challenge post is linked in my signature. At the end of the week you will give yourself a score from 0-7 on how you did sticking to your goals that week. I'm looking forward to this new challenge, getting goals done, and helping others along the way. 1. Done 2. My goals seem sensible. At least to me. Idk about meditating everyday. The only problem would be figuring out where and when to do so. I'll definitely be getting enough nutrition. I measure everything on MFP. Link in the signature down below. My workout looks fair. I'm just nervous of getting carried away with other workout equipment. I promised to do just yoga and running but now at my house we have a eliptical, weight set, rowing machine, and stationary bike. I really just want to use them all. The struggle is real. 3. Well here goes... "Hi." Here's my challenge. That's right. I'm gonna be the next avatar. And they said good ol Sokka couldn't do it. I'm learning airbending this challenge so I'm learning more towards a druid task in the yoga and mediation department.The main thing I struggle with is time management. I'm hoping to fix this with the sleeping goal I added. I want to get to bed at a reasonable hour and wake up early everyday. I know that if I can get up early that I can just get through my mourning routine like clockwork, get to school early, and finish most of my studying and homework before I have my classes and have the rest of the day to myself. I can help my group, should you choose to accept, stay focused and motivated by pestering them on NF, MFP, and any other social media doo-dad-hiky there is. I do have a kik. Plus I'll make sure to send lots of gifs and videos. I learn towards cat gifs and markiplier videos (since he's so damn cool.) 4. Super excited for teams! I'll make sure to subscribe to everyone in my team. and I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE as another member of one of the teams. I'll try my best not to get over excited responding to everyone. I'll try my best to keep up with my progress and stick to my goals as best as I can. Losing some weight would be a big bonus.
