whoa whoa whoa, Stop the presses!

did you just say that? Mister "I have small arms"?

I'm a big guy with small arms and skinny legs....

Warriors don't count reps and sets. They count tons.

You came up on my calendar this morning, so finally sat down on the computer to find you... hi! Enjoy your Cancun fitness center (and beach? There's a beach, right?) as long as you can, update us when you can, and otherwise be safe and awesome. All sorts of positive thoughts and other happy stuff coming your way! Looking forward to seeing when you can resume normal-by-wildross-standards stuff.

Thanks guys and gals. Cancun is beautiful and expensive. My surgery is at 9 am on Saturday. All of this means I'm missing my 3rd power lifting competition in a row. Had a great meeting with the doc last night.

Clearly the fitness center is missing a barbell

Clearly.  It had a smith machine, but not enough plates to do much with.

out of surgery - I'm told everything went great by the engineer - but I have not seen the doctor yet. His BP hit the roof presurgery- 200+/120....they were going to scrub the procedure. on meds for now.

Recovery is supposed to be easy - but wildross doesn't take anything the easy way.

here's praying that his bp settles down before we fly home on Monday.

Things I've learned so far.

1) My BP is normal while I'm asleep...ie, the high BP is stress related.  Already know I have a bad case of white coat syndrome. Apparently I have an even worse case of operating room syndrome....

2) I am very hard to intubate due to my throat structure (and muscles)

3) It takes a lot of drugs to knock me out...  The anesthesiologist had already given me some anti anxiety stuff that was supposed to put me to sleep and relax me to lower my BP.  So they had me in the OR on the sleepy table, BP is still too high and he goes over to argue with the other docs that we need to call it all off.  And I'm listening to the argument...getting flat out angry...not exactly the plan.  Anyway, they sorted it out and I woke up about 6 hours later.

And some other stuff as well...

Had a good dinner and drinking water like a man just in from the dessert.
