Four days - Thurs - Sunday. Registrations open for another month, too. One weight class has over 90 lifters registered already...

That's going to be insane! Eep!

They've split the British Classic into three weekends: open women 19-20 September, open men 3-4 October, junior men and women 31 October-1 November. There are over 100 women for the open classic (27 in 63kg and 25 in 72kg) and that's expected to be the smallest of the three.

I think the USAPL will have to do the same next year, or up the qualifying totals.

I'd like to see them up he qualifying totals for nationals, but split the weekends up for the American Open. That way nationals is truly a national championship with the elite lifters (ie not me) competing for the national titles, and The AO is open to all and a chance for everyone to come to a national level run competition.

I'm sure they will up the totals next year. I heard the reason why they are so low this year is because it is the first year they required a qualifying total to enter and they weren't really sure where to draw the line because they weren't sure how many people would enter.

I was wondering about that. 512kg total for the 105kg class seems crazy low. 3/4 of the 105kg class on Saturday hit that I think and that's just one meet in MN.

I came within 3# of qualifying as a super heavy weight in the open...which is ridiculous.

Warriors don't count reps and sets. They count tons.

livestreaming on http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/usa-powerlifting.html

seem to be on Day 2, Session 2 as of this post.

(Spezzi is in Session 3.  I don't know anyone else's "real" name.)

This used to be where  my weight loss progress bar was. Maybe it will be here again when I'm ready to face the scale and work on my fat problem.

I feel like such a pro now. I got my IPF-approved belt and knee sleeves in the mail yesterday, and of course gave them a test run. My knees in particular felt great. Usually it's quite a process to warm up my knees. And, I finally got depth on my squats that I think is unequivocally 'legal'.

I think the only thing I would be missing now is a singlet.

There's been a beginners powerlifting meet here in Minnesota for the past couple of years in the fall. I think I'll pencil that in.

Which belt and sleeves did you get?

Hey another MN powerlifter!  Nice.  Were you talking about the Solcana Beginner's Meet?  I'm still trying to figure out my meets for the year.

Hey there Rooks. Yes, that's the one. Sounds about my speed for now. Calling me a powerlifting at this point is a serious stretch. My heart will probably always be in throwing stuff. Any powerlifting event I compete in would probably have to be in the fall or winter.

You know, I think we interacted on the boards here back when I was active in 2012.

When you figure out your schedule, I'd certainly come to watch, and cheer, if I can.
