Wufkar
Alright kids, last challenge I was trying to be more consistent in working out, however I borked my foot and am currently clomping around in a walking cast. However, I bought a condo and will be working on settling into it over this challenge. It's particularly weird for me because I've had more than 15 addresses, 16 of which have happened since 2000. The walking boot final assessment is on 4/15/15 and the doctor mentioned transitioning me out of the boot which makes me think it won't just be free for me to go frolicking in the fields. Goals:Lift3x a week in whatever way I can manage. Honestly, I'm getting REALLY bored of benching.StudyThere are three certifications I need to take, 2 before summer in order to further my career. Also, I want to learn Python so I need to set aside time during the week to studyEatWhile not a major focus for me, I'm still trying to edge the scale down. Minimize Whole Paycheck lunches and cook more of my food. Hopefully I'll also bound through here a bit more and give some braindumps like I used to. Depending on my foot situation I will start adding in more HIIT workouts like rowing, or kettlebells, maybe even running. Instead of rushing ahead for once I'm going to listen to the doc and try to take it easy. It's not going to be easy for me. Wufkar
Okay, being as this is the glorious week of box moving, I'm not going to hold myself to gymming this week. I DO have to do something, scap pulls, pushups, supermans and/or ab things. Today just hit me in the face with a wave of exhaustion and all I want is to sleep. My hands have doms from painting all weekend. Mah haaaands. It's like when it's really cold out and you scrunch your nose but it feels like it gets stuck for a micro second. There's a fleeting "omg I'm going to be a pug face til spring!" feeling. Only in your hand. 1 Quote Current Challenge: Wufkar Stops Making Excuses ------------------------------------------------------ Link to comment

Wufkar
The podiatrist told me I have high arches. Part of that is certainly genetics, part is an aversion to putting weight on my full foot. I'm pretty sure that this foot fracture is just the previous one not healed properly. That means part of it is muscular dissonance, perhaps my calves over compensating for more elastic ankle ligaments combined with unheeded pain in my foot has resulted in me walking more on the outsides of my soles. I'm re-training myself to walk through my foot with a full push-off on my toes. It's definitely a springier motion and it's causing some calf doms. Of course, that's just the right leg. So I might have a popeye leg when I'm done. Quote Current Challenge: Wufkar Stops Making Excuses ------------------------------------------------------ Link to comment

Wufkar
The condo is so much more quiet than the apartment that I'm virtually squatting in my own condo. Air mattress sleeps here are better than mattress sleeps with a restless upstairs neighbor. Today I upgraded my mattress - floor life with a camp chair and brought over my shower curtain. Looks like it'll be harder to evict me. Quote Current Challenge: Wufkar Stops Making Excuses ------------------------------------------------------ Link to comment
Wufkar
One of my coworkers came down for training. She's the one I did my first Ruck with in Ohio last May. I don't know if she planned this or not, but it doesn't matter. At lunch today she gave me this patch to attach to my boot. It's a nice gesture of camaraderie much like challenge coins in the military and a good reminder that it can always be worse. 3 Quote Current Challenge: Wufkar Stops Making Excuses ------------------------------------------------------ Link to comment

Wufkar
Moving day and I'm up at 5:30 because the dishes were still wet when I went to bed. By 6:00 all that's left is catch all boxes. My friend arrives at 8 because she's off and it's awkward to stand around while someone else does all the work. The movers show up at 9 and after a quick walk through they start taking stacks of boxes by the dolly load. Inevitably they get to the duct taped bricks and steel plate. "What are these? "" Bricks wrapped in duct tape. ""What do you do with them? "" Throw them in a back pack and go for long walks. "" why? "" To get stronger. "By 11am everything is at the condo. Hiring movers is quite arguably one of the best "why the hell didn't you do that sooner?" decisions I've made. Already I'm settling into the condo more than any other place I've lived. Mounting the TV, painting the walls, changing the showerhead and planning other fixtures. At the same time I'm just absolutely exhausted. Most of the boxes are unpacked already but I've still got laundry up at the apartment. It's a weird feeling planning to be in one place for longer than a year or two. 2 Quote Current Challenge: Wufkar Stops Making Excuses ------------------------------------------------------ Link to comment
