This time IGAF! nightlight, part 3

SOOOOOOO. we're doing this again. I did get my shit together last challenge, but not as much as I would have hoped.

Goal 1: Go to the fucking box and fix yo self. 

 

 

How?

Part 1: Follow the program to the best of my ability. 3x per week. 

Part 2: 15min mobility 3x per week

 

Goal 2: Dani Two-Bricks

Last year, I weighed in at 147. (on a scale at a rock climbing gym i was at with the nerds) I want that back. I want my dead hang pullups back. I need to get my diet under control. This also will involve a lot of mental work.  

 

How?

FOLLOW THE PLAN. I'm keeping the plan a semi secret for now. Just because I feel like if I share things, I tend to fail. So, if you want to see what I'm eating you can look on MFP. Fair warning though, the macros are not correct, so it won't mean that much.

 

 

Goal 3: Get Your Mind Right

I did ok on this one last challenge, but I think I need to continue. 

 

How?

Just do one thing per night. 

Practice guitar for a total of 45min per week.

Okay!  Here you go!

 

OK, there's this panda, and he escapes from the zoo, and he's walking around town, and he thinks "I could really do with a shag!" So off he goes down to the local bar to try and pick up a girl.

So he's at the bar, and this girl (a prostitute) slides up to him and starts hitting on him. Panda thinks "Ello...I'm on here."

So they end up back at her place and the Panda says "I'm really hungry, do you have any food?"

The prostitute gives him some food, and then they get down to it.

Afterwards, the panda gets up and starts to leave. Now the whore doesn't like this and she says, "Where are you going, where's my money?"

Panda says, "Money? What are you on about?"

Prostitute says, "I'm a prostitute for pete's sake!!"

Panda says, "What's a prostitute?"

She throws him a dictionary and says, "Look it up!!"

Panda looks it up: "PROSTITUTE - A woman who has sex for money." Panda throws the dictionary back at her and says "So what. I'm a panda."

Prostitute says, "So."

Panda says, "Look it up."

So she looks it up, and reads out aloud: "PANDA - Eats shoots and leaves."

Day 1, Monday.


Goal 1: Go to the fucking box and fix yo self. 


Still paying someone to program for me. This will continue till mid-may. then i will decide if i want to keep going with this particular coach or not. Workout:


Work to a 5RM OHP with 5-10lb jumps.


33x5 (twice)


53x5

73x5


 


The last set was kinda rough, but doesn't look like it on video. I used to be able to hit 73 for 12... but, baby steps. i also tweaked my levator scapulae ( i think) on the set of 53. i stimmed it to hell last night hoping that would help, but it didn't. so now i can't turn my head. WOO. 


 


Work to a 5RM bench press with 10-20lb jumps

I don't feel so horrible about bench as i do about OHP. my old 1rm was 115 (or 120, i forget) so i feel like i don't have as far to go to get back into fighting shape. i also probably could have hit 100x5 or 105x5 but i am concentrating on NOT arching so hard (to protect my lower back) working on keeping a good low arch, and keeping my lumbar as neutral as possible. (i know, kind of counter-intuitive to bench, but my back is more important than my bench numbers) 


 


5x10 push ups. 


 


these were fine. but i need to learn how to do real military style push ups instead of hand release. 


 


5-10min mobility on my trap/shoulder where i tweaked it.


 


Goal 2: Dani Two-Bricks


 


Followed the plan. 


i missed a protein shake, because, frankly, i just didn't want it.

i did the dishes! and made myself dinner. 


stimmed my neck while watching bad TV. 


got sleepy around 9:07 (i remember looking at the clock) crawled into bed with my kobo. read a couple of chapters of the 2nd Mistborn. then BAM. ZZZZZZZ.

I want a stim-machine. Does it help?

i love mine. i have this one:

Seems like the price fluctuates, but I got it for ~50. 

For me, it just settles my back. So if i start feeling "weird" after working out and coaching a couple of classes, before i go to bed, i put it on program 3 (most like the kind of stim you get at physical therapy) for 20 min, go to bed, and am fine in the morning. physiologically, i'm not sure it does anything. but i know the stim is supposed to help turn off the pain signals, which is why i think it helps me. so pretty much i just use it to tell my back to stop freaking out over nothing.

back is ok. we'll see how it behaves after tonight's workout. patty is good. i have to carve out some time tomorrow night for quality time with her.
