Harihead
I had a great visit with my English friend. We did heaps of hiking on snow-encrusted trails, getting farther into the high country than I would have thought possible at this time of year. We also horseback rode and did regular Tai Chi and Qigong, either with me leading or in 4 different classes. We are now walking our way through New York, Manhattan Island I should say. Racked up nearly 9 miles yesterday and will likely do the same today. She's also a writer, so in between our jaunts we buckle down to the books. She's written a new chapter and I have made significant progress on my queries for the April 24-26 Pikes Peak Writers Conference in Colorado Springs (I'll be pitching there). I love feeling so energized about what I'm doing, and the progress feels great! I want to keep up the momentum from this fabulous visit through the following goals. Main Quest: Return to my "Work at Home" level of fitness After starting NF 9 months ago, I've lost 25-30 pounds out of my target of 65 (fluctuations based on good or poor habits). I seem to have stabilized around my current mid-70s benchmark-- I'm not diving up by 15 pounds as when I first went "on maintenance", but only about 5 pounds if I'm "bad". I feel I'm reset at a much healthier level, and now I want again to make some progress on this main quest. Fitness Challenge #7: Ranger Regularly I had so much fun hiking, and received so much inspiration from my recent hikes, I want to continue that. So I'm making it a challenge to get outside more: - Do 1 proper mountain hike or "mega-exercise" per week- Do 1 supplemental outdoor activity, such as a major walk or bike ride on the plains Health Challenge #3: Sugar baby! I found previously that stabilizing my sugar was the surest key to weight loss. I want to get back on the sugar wagon and keep my daily input below 41 grams. Life Quest Challenge #3: Write 6+ hours a week I have specific short-terms goals to meet regarding my writing conference and its specific aftermath. Now that my big Mar/April vacation is handled, I'm ready to get back to my writing goals.
