starpuck
red-face happens to me all the time, but it doesn't make a difference where I am. Mind of it's own, it has. As long as you're not feeling light-headed, chances are you're fine. Yeah, I feel okay which is why I'm not OMG freaking, but it's a rather impressive shade of beed-red-purple, so I thought I'd loosely browse around to see if that's a thing for a thing or just a thing. What up with our adorable faces going all red on us? Sheez! For the red face thing: How bad are your seasonal allergies? Mine are awful, and as a result I'm tighter chested and a bit shorter of breath. I'm sure if I tried to run, I'd be pretty red faced, too. I would guess or hope that your indoor tracks have slightly better air quality than outdoors in pollen season, so that might be the reason. I'm glad the knees are improving. Did you get your PT to check out the shoulder? I would guess or hope that PT might have a better approach than a chiro. If nothing else, you should get a solid week+ of rest for the shoulder when you do the FBR.Oi! Allergies. *shakes fist* They're pretty bad up here, and I had wondered if that could be a factor in the whole thing. It's only ever in the summer, so heat or allergies seem to be our primary suspect. Also, funny you asked about allergies as just yesterday after work, I looked at my car and said, "Oh snap, I gotta get a pic of that." That's 8 hours of pollen collecting there. My left knee is still cracking and popping like crazy, mostly when I go from standing still, to turning/stepping at the same time. No pain with the noise, so I'm not worried, but boy I'd be happier if it were behaving like 'good ole knee'. I thought about going to Moe for the shoulder- and I may if things don't improve with my continued avoidance of push exercises and after my week or so of rest. I've avoided it since she checked my knee just a bit ago, and I don't wanna seem like "one of those" people who go rushing in every two weeks for an injury screen. I should probably get over that soon - especially if things don't get better. I get a really red face when it's hot. I think your body will adjust as the weather continues to stay warm. Or it may not! I try not to get too worried about it, I figure it's just an indication that I've been working hard!It was the first above 80 day, true. I love a good hard workout, I just, ya know, don't want it to be a good hard workout that spiked my blood pressure until I pass out lol! I should see if this happens on warm day bike rides through that area. (Which are FAR less fatiguing on my body.) If it does, I think the allergy theory may take lead! pwallace
okay 3 things that jumped out at me from these few posts1) try picking up some raw local honey to have in coffee or tea, it will help with allergies (the local bees make it so the local pollen is used and your body will process it better, helping your not be effected by the pollen in the air as much2) when flexing your bicep, try turning your hand in a little more (back of hand toward camera) it causes the bicept to "scrutch" closer to the shoulder making it look bigger.3)Go back to wearing tshirts that have pictures on them! starpuck
Just a quick drop in update, because I am still flying. Hockey yesterday, food good and tracked. Today, church, lunch out with my sis, then drawing and lots of organizing. I had planned for a strength work out, but friend whom I mooch gym off of was hungover and so no go. Also, I got sick from something I ate at lunch and did not want to lift with rot gut going on. Used the 'chill time' to get lots of cleaning done though, so I think it's all good still. I had a second quickie drawing on Friday, and had a decent copy attempt today (those take far more time for me.) So 3 days total, but two mini days = 1 day in my book. This guy is an original, practice circles guy. Can't draw legs yet? Sit 'em at a table hah! This is Doranbolt from Fairy Tail. Copy practice. Gaming foo tonight. Week recap up for tomorrow morning. starpuck
WEEK 4 SUMMARY! GOAL #1 - Run 3x/week*TOTALS 3/3 Two runs proper and a hockey game. Not much else to say about that! Hehe. GOAL #2 - Strength 3x/week*TOTALS 2/3Got two days in. The work week is fine for me getting these, it's the weekend one I keep missing out on. Part of me says, "You may not be lifting things up and putting them down on the weekend, but you are being active and running around and bike riding and doing this, or that." It's not like my lack of a lift day automatically means a lazy, do nothing day. Still. I am vowing to get THREE in this next week, M/W/F at work. Because then it's ACEN and well, I'll have lots of steps but it won't be a run or hockey. So gotta get the lifts in. GOAL #3 - Eat for Health! (Track Daily)TOTALS 7/6Tracking is on target. This week is Shark week. And I get into my worst head game when this comes up. I get HANGRY, followed by tantrum, followed by hormotional. It's not so much that I don't ever want to indulge, I do. But when I am on a good streak, I really hate BREAKING that streak. And I KNOW that next weekend there will be indulgences. Basically, I had a few near misses with melt downs, while out for restaurant food, and freaking out over not being able to have whatever I wanted. It passed. But then I feel like a damn fool for having the mental hissy fit. GOAL #4 - Keep Drawing 2x/weekTOTALS 2, or 3!I did two separate days of mini-drawings. Basically, 5-15 minutes of sketching/doodling, without reference pics! I also had one additional day of sit down, stare at a thing and recreate it. I'd said that I'd count the mini sessions as .5 of a day for purposes of this challenge, so yeah, I got my 2/2. But technically, I had a pencil in hand on three days... at least for a little bit. GOAL #5 - Confidence and LoveTOTALS 1/1Got my pic in early this week. Even threw a bonus pic in. And this week, honestly, I was pretty happy with the results on the first take through. I, dare I say it, found myself kind of liking what I saw in the pics? It's still not a won battle by any means. I had a few other moments this past week where I was hating on this or that, but THOSE pics... I found good, kind things to say about me. So, maybe this is working.. Number FooWeight on Monday 4/27: 147.2Weight on Sunday 5/10: 146.4** Sunday weight peeked in at 145.6!! But, Lady Pow + taking my sis out for mom's day and then Chipotle for dinner? HELLO SALTY RETAINING GOODNESS. But holy smoke, that's exciting to see even a PEEK of a 145. Yes yes yes. It was totally week four, and now it's week 5! I know because I planned my FBR for the middle of week 6 so that I would have the 'off' week to let it heal hehehe. Though I admit this chunk of the season is going by oddly and ridiculously fast. I was just telling myself that April showers bring May flowers. And now I am going, wait, wtf? No, no rain in May and get these damn temperatures up!!! Still busy busy here. I'm going along well challenge wise, but am having a harder time keeping peeked in here. I normally do this all at work and we've got a guy out for 2 weeks because he got married. Sheeez. Slacker! ACEN IS THIS WEEKEND! In weird good news/bad news. I had to pay $85 to get my costume altered after it arrived. I only paid $72 for it. I was quite upset but figured better to pay the money and have a good looking costume than to let it go and not wear it because it was frumpy. Frumpy you say?? Yes. Frumpy. Because, something amazing happened. I am still losing weight quite slowly, but I really am getting to be okay with this, because while it's slow, it means I can still eat food. And I freaking love food. What I hadn't realized, was that the measurements I sent in to the costume maker on April 6th? Well, overall? Combining all the various areas that were measured? I was about 6" LESS in size by the time it arrived. 3" lost from my waist from the time it was ordered to the time it arrived. It triggered me to look at a few of the others, and across the board, I've gone down in measurements. WOOOHOOO! So. Once I get the whole costume on and ready to go, I'll share a pic! 6 Quote Level 81 ~*~ Ranger Deviant Art Gallery || YouTube Channel Current Challenge "It is difficult. BlackTezca
I love making slow progress too, because I also love food. I think a lot of us love, love food and I find that losing body fat and losing weight slowly due to building habits over time leads to keeping that off while we have these new habits. Which is awesome. Sucks that the price we have to pay is altering costumes, buying new clothes, etc, but it does feel good to see changes in our health both physically (pictures and measurements), mentally (more energy) and emotionally (I do feel better over all ). So yay!! Can't wait to see pics of you in that costume Quote Race: Were-Jaguar | Class: CodeMONKey Level: 18 | STR: 46 | DEX: 41 | STA: 35 | CON: 51 | WIS: 57 | CHA: 47 Spoiler --- Challenges: CURRENT 18TH | 17TH | 16TH | 15TH | 14TH | 13TH | 12.5TH | 12TH | 11TH | 10TH | 9TH | 8TH | 7TH | 6TH | 5TH | 4TH | 3RD | 2ND | 1ST Accountbilbuddies: Artists unite for March/April 2017! --- "Everyone's the same height when you punch them hard enough" --- NF Character Profile | BATTLE LOG | Tumblr | DeviantArt | Warhammer 40k Shenanigans Link to comment

obax
I still have no idea what week it is, y'all are confusing me. But that's ok! I'll just keep swimming! Also a food lover here, which is why I have so many periods of slow/no progress. Though that's more of a side goal for me, but every now and then I poke my pudge and I'm like, I have to get serious about this, and then I open the fridge and I'm like, nah, this is serious enough for now... Boo for the extra $85, but yay for the reason why! Can't wait to see your pic of the final product! Quote Dare mighty things Current Challenge Link to comment
Raxie
Phew, finally caught up, Starpuck! Firstly I must say all the pictures you have posted of yourself are some combination of super bad ass and gorgeous It's weird even in the week+ I was more or less off the boards I can see how much progress you're making in the way you see yourself! I'm so glad this portion of the challenge is working for you Also, I, too, get red face when I'm running outside. Not on a treadmill, and not during other cardio (except HIIT). Idk why. But it's the main reason I run in the wayyyy early AM before the sun comes up so there are no other people around, because I'm self conscious about my red face. I should really get over it though. As far as I can tell there is nothing wrong with us! Just workin' hard Your D&D character sounds awesome. I miss my D&D group we've had an unintended hiatus of over a month! Great job keeping the reins in on your eating in those social situations too. And finally, congrats on those inches you lost!! Super exciting. You've really got your groove on this challenge! Totally wrecking it (... I mean that in a good way) Quote forty-seven: Raxie and the Joining of Unlike Things << previous challenges >> >> instagram || goodreads << Link to comment

starpuck
HAIL TO ALL MY FELLOW FOOD LOVERS!! Today, Whatever day of whatever week it is! Or shall we say, T-2 days until Acen, omg omg omg. WHSE STRENGTH DAY! So. My left shoulder thing is getting weird. Like the pain is starting to move and be different. Affect the elbow. Weiiird stuff. I've been careful to only do things that do not hurt it while doing them, but over the weekend, I took a full on shoulder to shoulder incidental check from a 6'huge guy at hockey and it HURT. It's just not right. In fairness, and to continue the trend I've mentioned before... with the shoulder now being the biggest issue, both knees have decided to behave! Left knee still cracks a lot more than it did 3 weeks ago, but no pain when it pops/cracks. Still must get better on the foam rolling IT band. I've been VERY bad on not doing that. TL;DR - I took today as an easy strength day. Pull Ups5 x 5 Squats1 x 5 x 651 x 5 x 752 x 5 x 851 x 5 x 75 Narrow Shouldered Incline Push Ups5 x 6(Didn't want to do more than I've been at in case it affects shoulder later.) Plank : 80"Hold/Negative : 40" Since the workout was fast, I used the rest of my lunch break to clean out the inside of my car for this weekend. Checked that off my to do list! DRAWING FOOLast night I managed to get two drawings in. They were both copies as doing copy drawings forces me to slow down, and struggle to recreate what I am seeing. I've also been trying to pay extra attention when I do this, to visual where the circles/lines would go if I were doing it that way. AND, try to gauge spacing. Like. "Are her eyes really a full eye apart... no they look more! Is that right? Hmmm..." More Fairy Tail characters - pretty soon I'll have drawn the whole dang guild lol! I also finished Kill la Kill last night! Makes it into my top ten anime for sure. LOVED IT! I will say nothing else since it could be spoilery, but hot damn, Ryuko is a bad ass. I totally want to mash up a gif of Ryuko's head on Starbuck's body from some BSG clip or something now lol. Love me some bamf chicks! Tonight --- later, there may be more pics coming. Drawing pics for starters... and COSTUME PICS as I try things on tonight. Might get in some progress pics too because, why not, I'll be off and on all skivvy! 1 Quote Level 81 ~*~ Ranger Deviant Art Gallery || YouTube Channel Current Challenge "It is difficult.
