Hello,

 

I am Corinne. I am an opera singer. I don't want to be the fat lady who sings. 

I know that it would really help me to be a better singer if I could lose some weight.

Also it would make finding a nice gown for graduation next year easier. 

Of course, it won't hurt my looks either.

 

My main quest is to drop to a size 14 before the end of summer (I am a size 20 now)

My daily missions to accomplish this:

  1. I will do 30 minutes of exercise everyday
  2. I will drink at least 3 bottles of water each day
  3. I will have no more than 2 sweet things a day

The last one will be a killer I think. I am not able to resist baking, ice cream, or chocolate.

I will definitely need the rebellion to help keep me on track.

I have tried to go alone and it doesn't work. I need friends.

Hey guys,

I will be graduating next year and my goal is to get in shape and take part in a 5k merathon before I graduate. I am currently 210 pounds and with my height ideal should be 175. My 6 week challenge is to get under 200. I have a sore back which kind of restricts me from doing some real crazy stuff........for now. This is my first time posting in this forum. Thanks

Daily check in

today I met most of my goals. 

I went outside and ran/walked for 30 minutes. I think I did pretty good too, I went 3km and ran over 1km. 

I lost count of how much I refilled my waterbottle.

Unfortunately I didn't know about the challenge until after I had eaten cake for breakfast and ice cream sandwiches for a snack. but I held off sweets for the afternoon/evening.

Hi there!

 

I have no idea when it comes to clothes sizes (round these parts they use S/M/L/XL etc) so not exactly sure if dropping 6 of them is a too ambitious goal for 6 weeks, but good luck with that!

 

Have you considered substituting sweets with something else in order to achieve your goal? Fruit is a common choice and there's stuff that can satisfy your sweet tooth, such as bananas (also help to prevent aches after workouts, especially running).

daily update

I woke up so energised today. I give credit entirely to the exercise I got yesterday evening. 

I hope I can start my day so invigorated tomorrow, I have a really big exam.

Today I did 30 minutes of lap swimming for my exercise. it was really hard. I think the hardest part though is not being able to breathe whenever I want to, but being reliant on where I was in the stroke. 

I also drank all my water.

however, I ate double my sweets limits. but I am proud of myself for trying to replace it with fruit or gum. I still ate less sweets than normal.

hello, 

yesterday's check in 

I only did 15 min today before I started to feel ill so I stopped and walked the rest.

I drank all my water

I did much better on the sweets, but I did still fail.

also my jury went really well. :D

i did no exercise today

I was a little low on water too

but... I did keep my sweets goal (kind of, one of my sweets was a pint of ice cream but still) which means it is doable and it makes me happy that I did something different than normal.

welcome to NF rinney :)

small attainable goals are the key. also, ever small success is a still a success. the fruit idea Dark Raider had can be very effective. you can actually freeze bananas and mash them into an ice cream type substance. there's even a machine you can purchase to help with the process (http://yonanas.com/?gclid=CjwKEAjwjd2pBRDB4o_ymcieoAQSJABm4ego1f_9KgkpCMygcMUNiqE1Pkvnfak81iEEdYL0XMuBCRoCoKXw_wcB) not sure if that's your thing or if it will help, just thought i'd offer it in case you wanted to look into it.

thanks for pulling me back here. I haven't given an update in a while. 

I have been doing poorly on the first goal. I am getting about 10 min a day.

I have been succeeding on the second goal. I am drinking all my water.

I have been steadily improving on my third goal. today I actually succeeded completely. (YAY)

 

thanks for the banana tips. I usually don't buy them because I can't eat a whole one without gagging.

but maybe I will like it better frozen, I will try it.

hello, time to check in today. 

I did do some exercise, but not enough. I need to block out some time regularly in my schedule and set it aside just for exercise.

I got all of my water.

I didn't do that well conquering the sweets, though I am doing better than before the challenge.

Even small progress is still progress. Baby steps work better than drastic changes, stick with them and it'll all add up in the end. It's good that you are aware of how you're doing and thinking of how to do things better. Keep going, we're all cheering for you!

today I got all my exercise! it was only walking, but it was 30 min of walking.

I was just a bit low on my water, I need to have some more before I go to bed.

and I was way over on my sweets. I baked a cake for a family get together and had an icing mishap that ended with icing everywhere. and I ate lots

Congrats on getting the walk in! 

 

What was the problem with the water intake? Did you forget? Or was it more a lack of opportunity? 

 

ARGH, baking... So much fun, and so much opportunity to indulge in ALL THE SWEET THINGS. *sigh* 

In a way I am glad that the FC doesn't like baked goods much - so I don't bake as much. Because when I do... well, I do have to taste test everything. At every step of the way. Right? :nevreness: 

 

Self rationing my sweets hasn't worked out well for me in the past. I'm doing much better when I don't have any of the sweet stuff at home at all - or hidden somewhere by the FC so I have no idea where it is. :(
