This weekend has been absolutely awful on the diet front. I've basically gone on a bread binge. I'm staying at my friend's while dogsitting, and I've discovered that when I'm out of my own environment, I tend to go a little crazy on not knowing what to do for food. That, and the people I'm dogsitting for have access to all sorts of American goods from the army base....

 

Now I'm worried about what's going to happen once I go back to the States this summer. I already know that it's going to take a lot of work to keep my diet and weight in check when I have access to all of the foods I used to love that I no longer have access to. Namely, mexican food.

 

Today is the last day of the challenge, if I'm not mistaken. My final weigh-in will be tomorrow, after which I will post the results of this 6 week challenge. I know that I've done great on some things, and less great on others. Until tomorrow!

Fighting! And you'll probably be upset at the scale tomorrow from bread bloating. Pay it no more attention than another reminder to get back on track and just keep going

Alright, and that's all she wrote, loves! Let's get to the breakdown:

 

Main goal: lose weight (5 kilos)

I have lost weight during this challenge, and couldn't be happier about it. I finally dipped below my first goal of getting under 80kgs, which I definitely call a win. I can see the changes in my body and feel my confidence coming back. During this challenge, I've seen a weight loss of 4kgs. Not the 5 I wanted, but 4 is a good, round number I can be proud of.

 

Quest 1: Go paleo

Other than the weekend of bread I just had, my paleo diet is going pretty fabulously. Most of the time I don't have a problem with finding paleo things to make. I don't keep junk food in my house, which makes things simple. I find my taste changing, which is great. If that could flood over my immense love of bread, that'd be awesome. So, something to work on for the next challenge! Since my paleo diet isn't perfect yet, I awarded myself 3 CON points.

 

Quest 2: Maintain a workout/run schedule

I succeeded in every way with this. Some days I didn't run, because of weather or whatever, but I did a workout. I've leveled up my workouts to using dumbbells, and I can do full pushups now without flinching. I feel myself getting stronger everyday. My runs are getting longer, and more consistent. At the beginning of this challenge I think I could run maybe 2 full minutes, maybe 3. At the end I'm running 15 full minutes straight. This is the greatest thing, really, because I absolutely love running, and love to know that my body is getting more and more conditioned to do it again. For this quest, I awarded myself 2 STR and 3 STA points.

 

Quest 3: Get flexin'

This was basically a complete failure. I did keep it up for the first couple weeks, but then it kind of fell off after that, when I started concentrating more on running and getting work together. I usually kept up with doing yoga once a week, and would complete some short routines after runs, but the inconsistency here has lead me to only give myself 1 DEX point.

 

Quest 4: Hydrate!

Success! Plant Nanny keeps me conscious of how much water I take in during the day. I feel like I have to pee all the time, but waking up with a big glass of water is the best thing ever. 1 CON

 

Life quest: Me time.

I didn't get quite as much of this done as I wanted to. I find myself absolutely addicted to electronics! However, during the times I did spend alone without my robot friends, I did a lot of reading and even signed up for a MOOC course. 1 WIS

 

 

All in all, this challenge was a success. I'm in a great place to start off the next challenge, if I choose to do so, and I feel better than ever. I want to thank all of you fine people for sharing this challenge with me, and hope you gained as much success as I did, or more. So, look for me in the next challenge, and I'll look forward to seeing you there as well! On-on!
