Cat of all trades...

25yo girl khajiit seeks leanness... 1/2 marathon in Sept '15, swimming once a week and strength training with a PT 2x a week.

BUT I've been seriously slacking on my nutrition, not tracking macros and hence no results yet! SO I'm determined to join the Rebellion and get serious about my new 6 week challenge...

1) MAIN CHALLENGE: I will track EVERY calorie - every gram or butter, yoghurt or ml of milk. No more lazy 'guestimating' for the full 6 weeks (30 days)

2) I will stretch every morning, switching up the routine as required, for at least ten mins. (To improve squat, deadlift performance and build an arch in my feet)

3) I will weigh in a measure twice weekly, to show my PT my progress.

Side quests:

- Get my 5k time down to less than 32:30 (10 and a half min mile pace).

- Stay Facebook-free for 6 whole weeks

Looking forward to adventuring with you all. Any guilds with females just starting their 6 week challenge too plz gimmie a shout!

There are tons of ladies who lift around here (myself included), so you're definitely not alone.  There are quite a few in the Warriors guild and tons in the Rangers Guild as well (which is where I'm at) so feel free to pop in and explore the Water Cooler/General Chatter threads in those guilds and even explore some people threads if you're up for it!

Some suggestions - add in some metrics to measure your goals by.  I always use level of effort as opposed to results because you can't control results, but if you put in the effort you'll see results eventually... just somtimes not as quickly as we would have liked. For example, maybe tracking how many days you every calorie and set a goal (remembering to give yourself a bit of leeway for when life happens!)  so you can hold yourself to that at the end of the challenge.

Our Ranger challenge this week is to check out potential Rangers (which it sounds like you might be with all the different stuff you've got going on, but if you think differently feel free to ignore the suggestion! I'm biased, obviously) and make sure your goals are SMART. Check out the Campus Tours part of your guild to figure out how to get a SMART goal (yes, super cheesey acronym but it's a good system haha).  You clearly already know what you're doing when it comes to fitness but it really is a great tool for habit building.

Can't wait to see your progress!

Thanks Raxie! I'm definitely interested in being a Ranger so will check out that part of the forum.

I totally agree with your point RE: metrics too and not always being able to control results (whereas I can control my level of effort and commitment!)

I think my first SMART target then is to track all food using an app on my phone, every day honestly for the full 6 weeks (and logging results) which is definitely achievable but just helps me to practice accountability and really understanding what's in my food. It's the main habit I still need to establish that's probably holding back my training.

Will keep my sig updated with progress and will definitely join in the Rangers boards discussions :)
