Le cahier de Mme Pie / The Ladygazza

Recommended Posts

Hello world! I'm making this log for accountability through my first-week challange:
http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/64353-so-life-gave-me-lemons-we-all-know-it-doesnt-mean-limonade-roar/

You can also follow my progress here: http://runkeeper.com/user/ladygazza/profile

I start now that I made through the first week and lurked through the forum long enough :)

2015/04/20
Warm-up: 15 minutes jogging

Circuit training x3

    20 body weight squats
8 knee push ups + 2 elevated push ups
    20 walking lunges
    10 bench dips
    15 seconds plank
    30 jumping jacks
Stretching

It really felt good, a 2yo baby girl also approached me in awe. She though I was dancing (jumping jacking, actually, but close enough) and joined me.

Here's today's pic: can you spot the Ardea cinerea? couldn't determine if it were male or female, but seemed pretty young.

Here's my log for today, with a nice pic:

Didn't run fast at all, but I'm still happy because I've been training six days in a row and I felt my legs tired, obviously. Tomorrow, I'll rest.

Today was my rest day. It is unbelievable what I gained in terms of "free time" once I decided to put aside two hours a day to train. I don't train two full hours, but that allows for more flexibility (i.e. if I come back later from work) or just for relaxing and take a longer warm-up, cool-down/stretching, shower... whatever.

As today was my rest day and had no social commitments, I decided to visit the local zoo. Really, it is a 5 minutes walk from where I work, and always though "I have no time for that". Well, I had a most relaxing and interesting evening.

Here you have your pic: Erysimum Linifolium var. Little Kiss Lilac for plants lovers.

Go me, it felt really good!

I took it easy (10K in 55'05") and so I hope my legs will begin to recover more quickly :)

Thanks! Taking pics helps a lot in terms of accountability.

I never do 2 hours of training, they're just scheduled: I now that from 1800 to 2000 I won't be available (no social, no groceries, no cleaning home), so if I get home later from work, I'll still have time to train. It feels like a safety net.

In the past, I tried with "I'll go running at 18h30" and then, if I came home at 1900- life happens!, I felt like it was too late, and therefore excusable not going.

Same thing for social. I was weak and said "Uhm, ok I was supposed to go running but whatever". Now, I say "ok, but I'll join you later, I'm busy until 8 PM"

If I only knew it was so easy :)

It felt soooo good! I also managed to do a 25" Crow pose, never thought I could but I tried it anyways. And it worked! It helped to be on the grass, I knew I could really not injure myself. Ok, form is not so good, toes are low etc but.. I did it :D this means there's plenty of room for improvement!!

Here: Gettin' to my spot.

Ok, there it is: 10K in 53'24" and didn't end up tired. Well, not excessively. Looks like my legs are getting used to training 6 days a week, and I really feel that they're getting stronger. I feel this when running, it's so empowering!

2015/05/19 NerdFitness Beginner Bodyweight Routine (Repeat x3)

    20 body weight squats

4 knee push ups + 6 normal push ups

20 walking lunges with torso rotation

15 dumbbell rows (using a gallon milk jug)

    60 second plank

    30 Jumping Jacks

I just kept it simple, because I wanted to feel the difference between the first and the sixth week of the challenge. I just added torso rotations to the lunges, 5 dumbbell rows, and made longer planks. I'm on track for the push ups, I think I'll be able to do 3x10 grownup pushups at the endo of the week! Yes, I felt the difference, and wow it was a nice sensation!
