Terah Posted May 26, 2015 Report Share Posted May 26, 2015 I've been a druid and an assassin, now it is time to see if being a warrior suits me better. About me: I'm a work at home mom. I've two small boys (4 and 2 years old). I love sewing, reading, watching sf tv shows, dancing and spending time with my friends (not necessarily in that order). I live in the Netherlands. English is my second language, so bare with me I joined the druids to learn about intuitive eating and getting more in touch with myself in general. (second challenge)I joined the assassins because I love to dance (third challenge). But I didn't like the side quests they had. And assassins are supposed to be fast. I've been accused of many things, but being fast isn't one of them I would love to be stronger, and I don't hate strength training, so I figured I try to be a warrior this time around. This is going to be my 4th challenge: My motivation: To feel strong, confident and in control Main quest: Become a warrior Quest 1: IFDaily 14 hour fasts. (More hours is better)Measurement: A = 37-42 days of successful IF, B = 31-36 days of successful IF, C = 24-30 days of successful IFReward: A = +2 CON, B = +1.5 CON, C = +0.5 CONQuest 1B: Meal timeMax 3 meals a day. A meal is anything that fits on one plate, and isn't just fruit or vegetable.(So fruit and veg are good snacks, but only if hungry. A piece of cake or chocolate is a meal.)Measurement: A = 37-42 days of successful IF, B = 31-36 days of successful IF, C = 24-30 days of successful IFReward: A = +1 CON, B = +0.5 CON, C = +0.5 CONQuest 2: strength trainingI want to be stronger. Muscle will make me look better and I'm hoping more muscle means more energy.I'm going to do: squats, deadlifts, chest presses and shoulder presses. Optional are Chin ups and rowsMeasurement: A = 12+ workouts, B = 9-11 workouts, C = 6-8 workoutsReward: A = +3 STR +2 STA, B = +2 STR +1 STA, C = +1 STRQuest 3: CardioI love zumba so that will be my main workout. The first time it was amazing, I made such progress. The second challenge was different. Hoping to pick up the pace this challenge.I'm setting my goals not as high though. Hoping that will help me keep to stick to it. Habit is more important than quantity.Measurement: A = 6+ category's done, B = 4-5 category's done, C = 3 category's doneReward: A = +2 CHA, B = +1 CHA, C = +0.5 CHA With all of the challenges: I get a free pass when I'm sick and the first two days of shark week (learned I needed that during my last challenge) And I've finally made a spreadsheet to follow my progress! I just had some bags of soda (1kg each), but if I'm really going to lift I need something heavier, so I'm making 8 bags of 5kg. Don't think I'm going to need them all during this challenge, but it gives me something to work forward to. I totally want to make sand bags!!!!! I'm sticking to mostly body weight and a little kettlebell (so excited) for this challenge but I really want to try the sand bags. Got it a month or two ago, so I am also looking into helpful apps. Our medical aid links to some of the apps and then of course you have to buy the "fitness devices", so I am trying out Fitbit for now, but only the walking tracker. So two hours of excersise and I feel great! (A bit tired perhaps ) I used to do similar stuff when I was in the Army, 75 min of lifting in the morning, then 1-2 hours of weighted aerobics/spin/yoga in the evening.
