Dancehall and zumba class yesterday. I love to be able to dance 2 hours straight :)

Today is a rest day. Tomorrow morning an other zumba class and already looking forward to it!

Zumba is so much fun. And any exercise that puts a smile on your face has got to be worth ten times more than the ones that dont :) Keep it up!!

I've got a lot of work on my plate right now, but I'm making sure I make the time to exercise! 

This morning I went to the gym to lift again. It's starting to get easier. I don't feel so insecure anymore going to the free weight section.

This morning I went to the gym to lift again. It's starting to get easier. I don't feel so insecure anymore going to the free weight section. 

 

That's a big win, Terah! It'll get easier and easier, and one day you'll feel so comfortable in the free weight section that you don't even think about it :) Have a lovely Tuesday, and good luck with all your work!

My youngest son woke up sick today :(

A fever all kinds of yukky stuff coming out of him

 

He is happy now watching his favorite tv shows and even ate a bit at lunch time, so I'm hoping this will pass soon.

Besides that it kills me to see my boy unhappy (really it is worse to see one of my sons sick than to be sick myself :P ), I won't be able to take him to the gym's daycare tomorrow morning and I will have to find an other workout to do from home (maybe try to find the zumba wii disc)

Oh no! I hope he feels better. If you can't find your Zumba disc I recommend the Jillian Michaels workouts, I think they're on Youtube.

He feels better, but he kept me and my husband awake for most of the night. So I'm calling on my free pass for today. Trying to stay awake will be challenge enough ;)

Amazing what a good night sleep can do :) And my son is feeling well again :)

Broke my fast with a protein drink (almond milk, protein powder and cacao) and hit the gym after. I made such good progress. Thinking of doing protein drinks more often :)

The food section is not quite there yet, but getting there. Thinking of going more paleo (less processed crap, more veggies). But I don't want to make a quest out of it, because of the rebel in me :P

Started my day at the gym after dropping off my youngest at the "peuterspeelzaal" (school for children of 2 and 3 years old, one morning and one afternoon a week, in his case Monday morning and Thursday afternoon)

I got bored with the exercises I've been doing so far, so I thought I would give the Barbell Battalion a shot (NF academy). I did level 1A. Unfortunately the squat rack was spoken for the whole half hour I was there (that's rare on a Monday morning) so I used dumbbells instead. I went as deep as I could, trying to mimic the very fit people doing squats around me. I could have used more weight, but I think my form has definitely improved :)

Today is a total fail. 

Need to find a better way to deal with my emotions than eating :tongue:

 

That's the story of my life.  It's one thing to find an alternative to eating your emotions in order to be healthier but it seems entirely counter-productive for that stress to be derived from building the healthy habits.  This kind of seems to be along the lines of what you've been trying to do this challenge - but is there a way to structure your goals so that they aren't so stressful?  maybe a little more carrot or a little more stick?  

 

Mostly bread. I eat way too much of it. And not always with the healthiest of toppings...

 

I have found that in giving up a lot of processed grains they were really only good as a vehicle for other stuff.  The trick is finding new ways to transport the other food in...  I've gotten used to eating chinese varieties of chicken over stir fried veggies without the rice.  The rice was really only good as a vehicle for the chicken and less veggies.  I crave pizza almost daily.  Giving into to tortilla pizzas minimizes the processed grains.   I still however have not found a good replacement for bread when it comes to BBQ shredded pork and the like.  That's a mystery I have yet to unlock.  

 

It's a process.  Pick the situations where you have bread the most and start there..

Well, I thought spending more time at the gym would cut stress. Because it would be time for myself, without the kids. And I find the time there relaxing, it's just that when I get home there is SO MUCH work to be done I completely stress out and end up doing too little because stressing out takes time too :tongue: And I do need a new eating quest. But I'm letting lady.of.our.ashes change that one for me in the doodlie challenge :)

I've swiched breakfast (two or three sandwiches with meat, cheese or something sweet) with a protein shake during weekdays and bacon and eggs in the weekend. Lunch was the same as breakfast and will be more of a challenge (don't want to drink protein shakes all day :tongue: )

Dancehall and zumba class again tonight, it was hot but a lot of people came and we had a great party :)

The instructor brought his fan 20141202_instyle_styling_0098.jpgand managed to incorporate it in all his dancing (yes, for 2 hours!). I couldn't look at him without laughing ;)

I wonder if some food prep would take a little stress off and give you healthy and convenient foods for lunch? I keep my food prep really simple, usually toss a roast in a crock pot then cook a couple of pounds of chicken that I can shred into salads or whatever. I also pre-mix several salads. Makes me eat them if I can just open the fridge and find them waiting for me. Boiled eggs are another staple around my house. I do this every Sunday and it leaves me with lots of food to eat off of and make really quick meals. In the end it's a big time saver except for that one day a week spent in the kitchen.

No good answer for bread or pizza. I don't eat bread anymore but I still sneak in some pizza. Sometimes I can be satisfied with sausage and peppers cooked in tomato sauce and then topped with melted mozzarella. Gives me the favors I love without the stomach upset or water weight that wheat gives me. And other times I just eat the damn pizza :)
