Thanks! It is quite fun actually to realise how tired your body is the day after. Makes you feel like you've accomplished something!

Blisters underneath your blisters? Ouch :X

But all pain pales in comparison to the bliss of CHALLENGE TIME! Right? :D

RIIGHT! CHALLENGE START OF THE CHALLENGE WOOOOO

Ahhh hiking is so awesome.  It does tend to kick your butt when you least expect it though :)

Oh, absolutely!

Welcome back! I'm also back from hiding (ehh, more like just not caring :/).

Good luck on this challenge!

Yay glad to have you back aswell!

Week 1: Monday

Focused Flexibility: Yes, I did the stretches! For the coming two weeks I chose to work on full pancake, frog, modified downward dog and lounge chair. I did the pancake twice, at the start and the end of the stretches, because I made a before photo of that and of course after two weeks I want to show you an awesome after! ;)

Wrist Warmup + Frogger practice: Yes, did it too! The frogger was not very long, because my abs hurt from the hike and I am a pussy. Is sit weird that even if my toes are still on the ground, the frogger is like crazy burning my abs? Does that just mean I have no abs?

Either way, first day of the challenge, worked on both goals! Yay!

Oh and I didn't do Stronglifts, which I planned to yesterday. But it was the right call, my body is just exhausted. Now the new plan is to do that tomorrow. :)

Ouch, yes look after those blisters! I once did a 64km walk and got blisters halfway around... that was not fun :o And good plan postponing the stronglifts workout... your body isn't going to respond as well to that if you're recovering from the hiking.

My body feels much better today! So lifting is definitely going to happen today! :D And poor you, walking half the route on blisters ! :(

If you had no abs, they couldn't very well be hurting, right? :D

So i'm giving you a MadHatter slap now! Consider yourself slapped!

The frogger is pretty mad, I swear grown men cry like little babies if they have to do too much froggering. It ain't easy. Doesn't mean you're weak!

Hmm, you may have a point! And that slap hurt :P But I guess it was well deserved. So thanks, I suppose ;)

Week 1 Tuesday

Goal 1: Focused Flexibility (every day)

Yes, I did the four stretches I needed to do. I ALSO did triangle pose, because that one always feels very intense for me, so I guess my body needs it. Also, a little extra stretch work is oddly motivating! Makes me feel awesome for doing more than required!

Goal 2: Frogger (minimum of 3x per week)

No, didn't do this one today. I ran out of time, and sleeping is also important. I did write down the wrist stretching routine, so I don't always have to watch the video to perform it.

Additional stuff: I also did Stronglifts! It went great, the squats especially felt really stable and I could feel the muscles working in all the right places. So that makes me really happy! I even did quite some dishes, laundry and general tidying of the house and I'm definitely also proud of that!

*cough* well that was in light of the awesome challenge that I'm not partaking in, but as a house elf I am keeping on top of all your secrets :)

Haha I too love how the slaps are spreading :P

Week 1 Wednesday

Goal 1: Focused Flexibility every day.

Did it! It's less hard than I thought to get into the habit of stretching again, so that is very nice. :) Also, the lounge chair is a quite intense stretch for me, which is great. I am definitely stiff around  the shoulder/chest area.

Goal 2: Frogger a minimum of 3x per week

Did the frogger and the accompanying wrist warmup stretches too! I didn't only do the frogger that goes up like towards handstands (although mine don't reach that high) I also did the forward traveling one. It was fun. And at the end I was breathing quite hard and my wrists were tired, so I decided to stop. But really, quite fun! :)

Ready for Thursday, I'm on a roll!

I found you!

Stronglifts, hooping, and hiking are great and all, but what about the climbing?   It would be interesting to see how well all of the strength gains help you with your climbing.

You and me both, I would also really like to find out! I don't think I'll be climbing at all this challenge, or indeed, until the Fjallraven Classic is over... I am super busy with the hikes and stronglifts etc, but also, I usually work on my thesis at night too (which is the time I would go climbing) I'm also saving money for going to Paris...  So sadly no climbing :(

But I did not forget about it, and I definitely will return to climbing in full force!

Week 1 Thursday

Goal 1: Focused Flexibility every day

Did it! The lounge chair stretch is quickly becoming a favourite, and I love how my legs feel after stretching. Stretching is just great :)

Goal 2: Wrist warmup + Frogger at least 3 times per week

Also did it! The frogger too, feels more smooth. And the beginning position in a wide deep squat is actually a good stretch for me too! The wrist stretches are starting to be less uncomfortable. I think that they were really needed, me being the kind of person working behind a pc all day. It's also funny that I notice that my right wrist is tighter, which is my mousehand.

maru.jpg

I also did Stronglifts, but after the squats my right knee had a lingering little pain. I don't know what caused it, as I think my form was ok. Maybe I should video the next time I do the squats so you guys can check if I am doing something wrong. Anyway, I will keep the weight the same for the next one, not increase it, til I sorted out why it hurt and made sure it doesn't hurt again.

I did fail yesterday in the thesis writing. I got panicky, and then I kept procrastinating, and then in the end I did next to nothing which is super stupid because I'm already crunched for time :(

The lounge chair stretch looks interesting :). It's so good of you to actively work on undoing the damage your computer does to you :).

Yes, exactly! And I really do need it too! I don't want to end up with an actual hunchback, like I have seen some people :o

Week 1 Friday

Goal 1: Focused Flexibility

Done! It felt great again. I guess I really love stretches.

Goal 2: Frogger (minimum 3x per week)

Didn't do that one today. I want to go to bed early, and also do some dishes. I didn't sleep very well last night so I can really really use it.

It's really hot here now btw, all sunny and summer weather. The kind that makes everyone happy. But not me. I am sweaty, it's hot inside the house too, and I get burned easily. Grumpy much? :P

Yea must be a nerd thing. I'm melting away over here, blegh.

Nice that getting back into the flexiility habit is smooth :) Next time you have thesis-panic, maybe just go do some stretches. It might reinforce the idea of just one step at a time. That said, full blown panic over here, I 100% get it.

Oh and if you do video your next squats, do it from the front if you want ppl to check out your knees. But i hope it's just a fluke.
