Becoming a Superhero

Yesterday's morning walk was rained out, so I asked my daughter to go for an afternoon walk with me. We may have gone on a walk to the gas station to get a bit of junk food, but sometimes, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. At least it was a 35 minute walk.

 

This morning was the last scheduled walk of the week. Another 2.5+ miles in the hot and super humid. About the same conditions tomorrow's 5k's gonna be, except it'll be a bit hotter. o.o It's been nice having a reason to go out in this heat because left to my own devices, I'd stay in.

 

Tomorrow's the 5k. I'm not ready (mostly for the weather). But it'll still be fun. Hanging out with my sis, brother, and daughter as we tromp through the course and inflatables. And then lots and lots of water.

 

Monday, daughter has cheer practice again, so I know I'll get another walk next week at least.

Boss Battle!

 

Yesterday was amazing! It wasn't nearly as hot as we'd feared, but it was pretty close. As is normal in a race-like situation, the DJs at the gate got everyone pumped up and when they sounded the horn, we took off up and over the first inflatable and jogged to the second. After that, our previous decision to walk the course reasserted itself.

 

Favorite obstacle is called Tangled Up. It didn't feel as large as the photo, but involved jumping from inflated tube to the next inflated tube and there were different levels so you also had to be aware of people above *and* below you.

 

 

So. Much. Fun. I want to do this again, but want to aim for either earlier in the year or earlier in the day.

I'm glad you and your family had fun. I'd never heard of inflatable 5ks before, but I definitely want to try one out for myself now.

Final Update: I can fly!

 

My favorite thing about this challenge was making it to the Insane Inflatable 5k and fighting against the mentality of "feet must stay on the ground!" While the 5k popped up after I'd already joined the challenge, it still fit in perfectly with my goals.

 

Now - look at these numbers! I ended up doing better than I’d thought I would! Especially on that pesky exercise one. I learned a bit about myself with this challenge and hope I can apply it to things going forward.

Balance: 23 - final grade: B

Reward: 2 STR | 1 DEX

Hydration: 250  - final grade: B

Reward: 2 CON

Exercise: 28  - final grade: A

Reward: 2 STR | 2 STA

Life Quest: Big Fat Pass!

Reward: 2 CHA | 2 WIS
