Hello, Jkiley here. This is will be my third challenge.
My main focus is on loosing weight.
I’ve got a Fitbit to help track my progress. 
I will also track as I walk the way to Mordor.

Goal 3: Improve Hand Writing
My handwriting is bad, but it can be legible. I have to write slow and my hand cramps up.
I’ve got a book for adults on improving hand writing with daily exercise. Looks like it is mostly technique.
This is something that I have always been embarrassed about.

I will do the daily exercise in the book Monday - Friday.

Life Goal:
I want to go backpacking this summer. It is one of my favorite activities and I will be focusing my training on getting into good enough shape to not only be backbacking, but also enjoy it.

I will try to do a different hike each weekend to help get into backpacking shape. 

Motivation:
I have been overweight most of my adult life. Two years ago I started the Paleo Diet with exercising and I was able to go from 248lbs to 198lbs. It was amazing and I felt great.
Last year my job got more stressful, and I fell off the wagon. I gained back about 35 lbs. I have joined the rebellion to get my life back, and to start feeling and looking great.

I’ve always loved the outdoors.  Right now I am in such bad shape that it is hard to enjoy the outdoors. I need to get into shape so I can have enough energy to enjoy the outdoors while I am still young.

Battle Log One:

 

I have made sure all of my goals are S.M.A.R.T and I am ready to take on this challenge. 

 

Yesterday I did a 5.5 mile bike ride through town, I followed my meal plan, and I did the first exercises in my penmanship workbook.

Battle Log Two

 

Yesterday I did some interval training on the treadmill and a little extra walking to hit my 10,000 steps goal on the Fitbit. 

Diet/meal plan went according to plan and I also completed the next exercise in my penmanship workbook. 

 


If the weather cooperates I will try to go for a bike ride tomorrow night.  


 

I’ve also planned a hike this weekend with some friends, that will be good to help me get into backpacking mindset.

 

After day two this challenge is going 100% as planned but we are only 4.7% of the way through the challenge.

Keep up the great work! I know how you feel when it comes to getting back outside and I was so happy to find a way for us to go as a family.

 

Thanks, the outdoors were such a big part of my life growing up. I want to be able to enjoy them into old age, so I better start getting into shape start now!

Battle Log Three:

 

Yesterday was my day rest day for exercise.  Tonight I am still planing on going for a bike ride unless the weather chooses  not agree, but looks like I will get a break.

If not, it’s off to the treadmill. 

 

Diet is on track. 

 

I also completed exercise 3 in my penmanship workbook. It’s funny how knowing proper technique makes a huge difference… Didn’t even realize how much I was doing wrong.

Battle Log Four

 

Week one is over and things are going pretty well. So far I’ve dropped 1.4lbs since the challenge started. I am on track with my diet and excise goals, but I am one day behind on my penmanship exercises.  I will try to make it up by adding an extra day this weekend. 

 

Some friends and I went for a hike yesterday. 7 miles and almost 3.5 hours long.  It felt good to get out and enjoy the out doors. 

 

If it stops raining I will hopefully be going for a bike ride this afternoon.

Battle Log Five:

 

It ended up raining most of the day Monday, so I had to skip the bike ride and  hit the treadmill instead. 

 

I did go for a pretty awesome bike ride last night and had a new best time on the route I have been doing. 

 

The diet is going well but I am behind one exercise day and two days on my penmanship exercise. I will have to pick up an extra day or two on the weekends to catch up.
