TWburn Posted June 8, 2015 Report Share Posted June 8, 2015 Mission My mission for this year is to meet my weight goal of 140lbs. Get stronger, finish a bunch of NF Challenges, and just have fun! Some of the things in this challenge are the same as my last challenge. They are still a work in progress, and they are important goals to me, so I really want to nail them down! I'm going to take it a bit easier this challenge as far as forums and posting. Last challenge, it was hard to keep up with the accountabilibuddies and worry about everything else at the same time. I had a lot of fun with what I did get accomplished, but this challenge I need to FOCUS! Quests 1) Track food/calories intake every single day by accurately measuring food and entering everything into MyFitnessPal (+3 Con) A - Track 100% of the challenge, and stay within calorie goal (+3) B - Track at least 90% of the challenge (+2) C - Track at least 80% of the challenge (+1) 2) Exercise 6 days a week: 3 strength days, 3 cardio/HIIT days (+2 STR, +2 DEX, +2 STA) A - Finish 100% of workout schedule ( +2, +2, +2) B - Finish above 90% of workout schedule (+1.25, +1.25, +1.25) C - Finish above 80% of workout schedule (+.5, +.5, +.5) 3) STRETCH IT OUT 30 days of Yoga on youtube! So 5 days a week! (+3) A - Finish all 30 days (+3) B - Finish 25 days (+2) C - Finish 20 day (+1) Life Quest Finish the second book in the Game of Thrones series (Clash of Kings) and start reading book #3. TWburn Posted June 10, 2015 Author Report Share Posted June 10, 2015 Thanks @DarK_RaideR! I'm glad I came back! Day 1 was awesome! Day 2 was a bit off, but still great. Day 1: Tracked everything and stayed within 100 calroies of my goal. Drank my gallon of water, and then some. HIIT workout (holy crap my calves are sore)! Spent 45 minutes stretching everything out!Day 2: Tracked and stayed under my calorie goal. Had a weird upset stomach thing going on yesterday, so I didn't hit 1500 calories, but got in a minimum of 1200. Strength training done, stretched and spent some extra time last night rolling my calves. My stomach is still weird this morning. I'm not sure what's up. I don't feel sick, but my appetite isn't "EAT ALL OF THE THINGS" like it has been. About to take measurements and I will post a before photo shortly. TWburn Posted June 11, 2015 Author Report Share Posted June 11, 2015 Day 3 needed a little get up and go, but I felt great by the end of the day. I wanted to bail on cardio SO BAD, but I sucked it up and murdered the elliptical for 45 minutes, and also found a new show to watch on netflix?!?! Sense 8 seems strange, yet oddly interesting to me. We will see if it can hold my attention again this weekend! I HATE boring cardio, so netflix is my go to when I'm using a machine. Day 3 workout done!Food tracked and within 100 calories of my goal.Stretched forever, but still haven't done a single day of yoga. Ha! I feel much better after a few days of lighter, healthier foods. And then I had a s'more for dessert last night! Yum! Excuses are plentiful.Calories tracked but over my goalno stretching, no yoga Day 6No workout againCalories tracked for 3/4 of the day...impromptu BBQ with the neighbors and I ate all of the things!Stretched a little bit last night before bed, but still no yoga.Food Prep day! Ready for the week. I'm going to turn this around. Hopefully squeeze in both of my missed workouts today, and food will be on point while my other half is out of town because he prepped all of my chicken yesterday! I've got goals and letting the weekends get crazy and out of control, are not an option at this point. TWburn Posted June 25, 2015 Author Report Share Posted June 25, 2015 Week 2 went okay. My workout partner was out of town, but I got 3/6 of my workouts done for the week. I tracked all of my food for the week but I went over my calorie goal twice, and didn't track the whole day for 1 of those days. I've been stretching after my workouts, but I haven't even done a single day of yoga. I will probably adjust that goal to just keep stretching well after my workouts. I have officially put down the Game of Thrones series, because I can't seem to keep myself interested long enough to read more than a page. I did, however, join a summer program with my kids. I have been reading to them like crazy, and I picked up a new book for myself. I'm hoping to get through it in the next couple of weeks and start the second one in the series shortly after. Even though some things have changed, and week two wasn't the best, I still think the week turned out pretty good. Week 3 has been great so far. I also decided to upgrade from a fitbit flex (have had it for 4 years) to a fitbit charge, and I still love my fitbit just as much as the first day I put one on! Headed to the Elliptical this afternoon after a great workout this morning. Ha ha! I didn't do a single day of yoga. Life quest recap I didn't finish Clash of Kings, but I did read 4 young adult (ha ha ha) novels in a span of 2 weeks. ( +2 WIX) ~ Even though I didn't keep updating my challenge thread as much as I would have liked (life got sort of crazy during this challenge), I think I did pretty good keeping my goals in sight. I am consistently lifting, I am a lot quicker to notice bad nutrition choices and turning it around, but I REALLY need to work on my stretching. We are headed to New York for 3 weeks in August and we are going to switch it up a little bit. We wont have barbell access since my hometown is in podunk nowhere. We will most likely do a bodyweight workout and use the playground up the street for pull up portions of our workouts. I'm excited for a change. And yoga...lots of yoga since we will have the extra time.
