Chlorofyl Posted June 9, 2015 Report Share Posted June 9, 2015 Yay, it's time for my second 6-week challenge! (I'm one day too late, but still.) As my exercise schedule currently consists of Crossfit, sprinting and running, I figured I belong to the Rangers guild! ^^ As for a race, I think I'm a nymph: I like being alone in the forest, I secretly wish to live in a tree (house) in the woods, I have many plants in and around my room and I have a thing for flowers! Main questMy main quest of the previous challenge was to lose 18 lbs. This is still ongoing, so I'll keep it as a main quest – but honestly, the subgoals for this challenge don't necessarily contribute to this. The thing is, the subgoals from the previous challenge are kind of my habits right now! So I will lose those pounds eventually along the way ^^. SubgoalsStick to the 80/20 rule (unhealthy food/snacks limited to 2x a week) \\ +1 CON, +1 STAMost of the time, I eat pretty healthy (Primal/Paleo-ish) but lately I've been having more unhealthy snacks and drinks than usual. Of course it's completely fine to eat something unhealthy every once in a while - but not too often. Therefore, I want to stick to the 80/20 rule again instead of the 50/50 rule that I tend to follow right now... Go for a 10-30min morning walk 3x a week (preferably in nature) \\ +2 STA, +1 DEX, +1 STRWalking is very healthy for the body AND the mind. I find that I don't do this often enough and I know that it really helps me, physically as well as emotionally (have been getting a lot of stress lately). And I get some fresh air in! Because I'm not sure about the length of the walks yet (and I'm quite busy on some days), I want to aim for something between 10-30 minutes to begin with. I'll see how that goes! As for the days, I think I'll do this on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (those are the days on which I usually don't exercise). Eat more iodine: 2x fish, 1x kombu/wakame soup, take supplements \\ +2 CON, +1 STAI'm kind of worried that I'm suffering from iodine deficiency, so I want to incorporate idione-rich foods into my eating pattern and see if that helps. Seaweed is healthy anyways. (:Life quest1. Find a summer job \\ +2 CHA, +1 WISSummer vacation is coming and I want to earn some money! Therefore, I'm looking for a summer job. I really want to have this settled as soon as possible. 2. Meditate 1x each day 3x a week (at least 5 min.) \\ +2 WIS, +1 CHAMeditating is something I've wanted to do for a loooong time. I easily get stressed and tend to worry a lot, which is not a good thing. I think that meditating can definitely help me with this and I want to make it a habit! I'll start with guided meditations and use YouTube/apps (like Stop, Breathe & Think and Calm) to help me! With all the woodlands stuff, I'm guessing you'd have a thing or two to chat about with fellow Ranger Phytomancer. I'll check this Phytomancer out About my challenge, quick overview of the past days: First subgoal: Went all right actually.Second subgoal: I only walked once...Third subgoal: I only ate some fish and took supplements on a few days, but not as often as I wanted to.Life quest 1: Nope, no job found yet.Life quest 2: I did it approximately 50% of the days (every other day). Okay, I shall be honest with you: I feel like I kinda failed my 6 week challenge till so far. Why? The last time went all right, so why this feeling of failure? Well, maybe it wasn't the right moment to start with a challenge like this. The end of the year is approaching fast and I'm in the midst of my exams. It's quite busy and hectic and I feel stressed and anxious all the time. It was (and is) too much to remember and practice these goals as well, I guess. The thing is, right now I'm not really sure about what to do now: continue, or quit and start over again when summer vacation finally kicks in? (That's within two weeks for me.) On the one hand, I want to continue because I feel like I disappoint myself if I don't. On the other hand, I'm afraid that if I continue, I won't have more success with my goals than I had the past few days and feel disappointed about that as well :/. DarK_RaideR Posted June 21, 2015 Report Share Posted June 21, 2015 Sounds like you got a lot on your plate. No reason to go crazy though. I finally have summer vacation, I got all my grades back (and they're pretty high ) so let's do this!Since I skipped a few weeks from the challenge and changed the goals slightly halfway, I will call this a "semi-challenge" - next time, I'll do the 6 weeks as usual .
