I'm Fayrn. I'm human. Right now my body condition is average leaning towards overweight. I mostly stay at home, waiting for my life to begin. I need to change that. I want to have a better body image by getting to a healthy weight and tone my body. I'm on a quest to lose my humanity and become something, someone better.

 

Main Quest:  In six weeks I will lose six inches off my waist line. Mermaids are graceful, lithe, and fast. That's because they're streamlined and that's what I'm going for.

 

Quest 1: Swim for at least 10 min, twice a week. I love to swim, and if I do more of it I can improve my stamina and overall body condition.

 

Quest 2: Drink more water for the next 6 weeks. I drink water everyday, but not enough. I plan on drinking at least 2L a day.

 

Quest 3: No carbs before 11am. I wake up at around 6 or 7 in the morning most days, and after talking to a nutritionist, I learned it's best to avoid carbs in the morning when you wake up.

 

Life Quest: Furnish the house. I just moved and I would like to make my house into a nice comfy fortress and in order to do that, I need to put things in it. In six weeks I would like to have a kitchen table, a couch, and a bed frame.

 

Motivation:  Mermaids. Seriously, I want to look and feel good being half naked and imagining a mermaid seems to get the ball rolling

Awsome goals .. and I echo Mermaids being a great motivation ... graceful, fast, beautiful

 

only one question though .... your main quest six inches off your waist in six weeks ? ... and you are starting at only 29inches. ... Is that even possible .. its taken me 8 months and I am only down 4 inches ... ok so I am a guy and we tend to store fat around the waist .. but is 6inch in 6 weeks doable ? .... if so, where I can I get me some female Genes to inject :D

I have no clue if it's doable. It may not be. I'm not sure what the healthy size is for waist at my height 5'4". But I figured as long as I lose something I'm willing to go with it. I know I'll make progress and that's what counts.

Transformation Spell this week

Main ingredient: Fish (eating more fish and adding fish oils into my diet)

Weekly missions:

10 minute swim on Friday and Monday.

Drink a total of 14L this week.

Avoid grains after 5pm for 7 days.

I was also wondering about the 6 inches in 6 weeks, seems a bit extreme, but I dunno, never really kept too much track of my waist line. Love your goals though and definitely seems sustainable and fun. I love swimming, and I'm glad it's basically summer here now, so I may be able to find a few pools to bum around in for the season, as I cannot afford a membership to any places that have a pool >_<

As of June 17:


  • Hips: 39.4 in/ 100 cm
  • Waist: 29.1 in/ 74 cm
  • Weight: 72 kg

Still human, but feeling very fishy (excuse my terrible humor).


 


This past week I've managed to increase my water intake, exhaust myself in the pool, lose some inches, and crack my phone. It's been a great first week, despite some mishaps and getting sick. Tomorrow starts a new week, with new missions and goals.  


 


For cardio and as part of one of my quests, I've kept up with at least 10 min. in the pool twice this week. For general strength training I've been doing body weight squats, push-ups, leg raises, and assisted pull-ups. Once a week I also see a trainer who helps me with weight training. This week was arms and boy are they sore.


 


I've been very good about not eating grains and breads past 5pm this past week, except on Tuesday. It's very hard to stick to, but after talking to a nutritionist, I learned that it's actually better to avoid grains in the morning. So starting today I will change my quest to reflect that.


 


Water.I haven't made it to 2L a day consecutively , but now with a  tracking system in place, I'm hoping that will change. I've also started a new routine (by new I mean I established a routine where there once was none). I'm glad I did, it has helped out so much. Not only do I get more done, but I'm also more relaxed.


 


As for my Life Quest, I've managed to furnish the fortress pretty well. We now have the Colossus gamin station, my Control Helm, and a couch. I'll post pictures when I can. I also plan on taking progress pictures too, so at least I have documentation of my transformation.

Yes, ya'll...it is very doable...during my first 6WC, one of my goals was 10 inches from my midsection (ribs, waist and belly) and I lost a total of 12!!

Wow. First of all, Bast has helped me learn some thing about the rebellion that I should've been doing...like the mini challaneges. Also, Week 2 and week 3 I kind of fell off the rails. Week 2 I still did my missions and quests, but week 3 I didn't do anything. I've failed. 

 

So I've been sent back to my last check point.

 

This is week 4 and I will start it off right. Starting with the mini challenges:

 

W E E K  O N E  M I N I  C H A L L E N G E 

  1. Is your overall quest achievable (over a short or long period of time)?  Is it reasonable?

    Yes. reasonable for my body type? No. For my body type I think it'd be more reasonable to lose 2 or 3 inches.

     

  2. Do your 3 quests all build towards your main quest in little ways, or are you taking on too much? Do your quests have sub-quests or is it just one thing to focus on?

    Yes, after all, abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym. There are no sub-quests because they are pretty straight forward.
     

  3. Are your main goals realistic? Can you scale them to smaller steps to fit your life better, even if it will make it take a little longer to achieve them?

    Yes both goals I feel are realistic, but they could be scaled down further, however i feel the scale they're at now is reasonable.

     

  4. Are your goals able to be measured and tracked?  What will you use to track them?

    Yes. With a weight scale and measuring tape, my goal can be tracked.

     

  5. How are you grading your goals?  Are they pass/fail (“every dayâ€, “not even once over the six weeksâ€)?  Is there a reward for the effort, or are you only grading yourself on whether or not you “lose the weight†or “run the distanceâ€?

    Pass/Fail based by every week. There are, or was not a reward system, but now I think for every successful week I will save $50, and when the challenge is done, I will buy myself something nice.

     

  6. What is your plan for continuing/altering/grading those goals if you become ill or injured?

    If I become injured, I will move away from physical activity and focus on eating paleo everyday.

     

  7. Did you take into consideration any special occasions (Labour Day, Independence Day, birthdays, anniversaries, etc) that may occur during the challenge?  What modifications do you need to build into your goals for those?

    I didn't take into account any of those things, so there are no modifications for that. I wouldn't need modifications.

     

  8. Do any of your main goals conflict with each other? Will one goal make it hard to do another?

    Nope.

     

  9. Do you already have the time in your schedule to actually complete the goals you’ve set?  If not, what are you planning to do to make time for them?

    I originally did not, or at least was not making time. But I have since started a new routine and been keeping careful track to prevent from failing.

     

  10. Are you trying to build multiple habits, or is all your energy focused on your main quest?

    Both.

Welcome back, and don't worry, as long as you get back on the track, it's the journey that counts, and sometimes a journey is better with a few more stops, it usually gives you a few more great stories, and a better appreciation when you do reach your "destination"

Those Mini Quests are very helpful for successful challenge, I wish I had known about them my first challenge, way back when, I probably would've had better results!

Yup, each week's mini helps you not only learn your way around the Rebellion, but they also help you to succeed!!

 

You haven't failed...you are still making progress...this is just a minor setback!

I've gotten sick and due to the medication I'm taking, can't do strenuous exercise. But the lovely Bast has once again shown me the way. Sure I can't swim, but I can stretch and complete my mini-challenges. I can get back on track with my homely duties and my studies. I think this is a good trade off. Plus I'm feeling better, so hopefully this means when I can get back in the water I can hit it hard.

 

Meanwhile I've completed another mini-challenge. I've learned to edit my signature better and am following two fellow rebellers who have similar goals to mine.

Another Mini challenge completed! Tomorrow I get to work out again so I'll be getting in an early morning swim and work out

1. I'm having a hard time keeping up with my quest of drinking at least 2L of water a day. 


2. I looked through some forums to see if anyone else had ideas. I found this forum and it seems that carrying aorund water bottles is the easiest solution.


3. I plan on buying a water bottle than can carry two liters of water and carry it with me at all times. I'm more inclined to drink water if it's within reach.

Water is a hard one to conquer that's for sure, especially when the market is so saturated with sodas, and energy drinks, and coffees and teas with sweetners, and "enhanced" waters... People almost look at you like you're crazy if you drink just plain old water all day... With that being said, infused water can also be a great way to get your water in, cuz then it has a taste, but is natural, plus you can get in some fruit/veg with them, added bonus. Some of my favs are watermelon, mint, orange, cucumber dill, but there are TONS of other combos out there, and bound to be one you like ^_^

I've completed another mini challenge, and leveled up. This week's mini challenge I shared one of my favorite recipes! Its really easy to make and pretty tasty. I don't really follow a "diet" just try to make healthy choices whenever possible. 

 

I've got one more week and I've already hit the gym, but I hope to hit the pool too. Gotta gain fins somehow.

This week is starting off great!

 

I swam for my cardio, it was like 5 min before the pool closed but I made those 5 min count. 

Then I did my normal workout routine, but added more sets and reps.

  • 4x20 squats
  • 4x20 leg lifts
  • 4x10 assited pull-ups (75 lbs)
  • 5x10 pushups

I'm hoping Tuesday I'll be able to add 2 reps to my pull-ups and push-ups, add another set  to my squats and leg lifts, and add box jumps to the mix.

I DID IT


 


Despite some hiccups I completed my first challenge! I'm so happy! And I did manage to lose some cm off my waistline. So i call this a success. 


 


I have learned a lot. And I'm excited for the next challenge. Thank you everyone for your support!

Okay! I have leveled up, I'm confidently a little stronger and a much better swimmer. I have created some better routines in my life. I'll be getting ready for the next challenge, meanwhile I'll be working on my bodyweight workouts and keeping up with my good habits. 

 

I'm glad to say I turned from average human to newbie mermaid!

I'll be joining the assassins guild because i want to do parkour, dance, and gymnastics, but I will be keeping up with this mermaid theme, mainly cuz I love it, it's hot, and I love to swim!
