Silmarilliane's Eighth Challenge

So I'm a week late to starting this, and will run up to 26th July.

I apologise in advance for my huge absences (and likely to be continuing absences) from the forums - to totally make excuses, I ended a 7 year relationship earlier this year and am going through annoying grown up stuff like sorting mortgages and living between two houses. By the end of this challenge I should be settled back in one place and ready to get on with my life.

 

Mainly I'm posting this challenge here because if it's on the interwebs, I have to do it :)

 

Also, hugely lazily I'm completely copying my last challenge. I put on about 5lb in NYC so my goal for this challenge is to lose it again!

 

Eatings

Mfp calories set to ‘lose 0.5lb per week’ and adding exercise calories. Again allowing myself a day off if I’ve totted up over 1000 spare calories in consecutive days.

 

Walkings

Walking at least 20 miles in any consecutive 7 days

 

Dumbbells

Three workouts a week (Mon-Sun) of my dumbbell set of 3x10 bicep curls, military press and bench press (with 2x10kg dumbbells)

 

Runnings

Now that I'm back from NYC I'm happy to start doing things that may damage my foot/ankle again! I'm going to do at least one jog/run a week to get back into it. Any length of time/distance is acceptable.

It looks like you had an awesome time in NYC (I was enjoying living vicariously with the photo updates)  and I am glad things seem to be settling down for you a bit now, it sounds like you have sorted your living situation (PM me for details though!) so that's good.

So this challenge hasn't gone amazing, but hasn't been a complete failure. I've logged calories for probably 80-90% of it, with a bunch of days definitely over and a few days not logging but doing ok.

 

Walking has been the only complete success, with 150+ miles walked so far from 15th June with the minimum 7 day total being 22 miles and maximum being 31.5. I only need to do 2 more miles by the end of Sunday to completely pass this.

 

Dumbbells started ok but I've only got them out 9 times across the whole six weeks. I did however up the weight from 10kg to 12.5kg each, which is actually quite a jump so I'm not amazing at the reps (excuses excuses...)

 

Running also started well, first three weeks passed but due to house movings and general busyness I've failed to keep up with it.

 

So to summarise, I get full marks for walking, 75% for calories and 50% for dumbbells and running, which brings my total to 68.75% which according to google equates to a C.

 

I'm still undecided if I'll do a new challenge next week, but will definitely be around stalking lurking supporting peeps.

Woah, that's some mileage! Well done on sticking to your goals though, you've moved house and had all sorts of stuff to deal with. I would have just left my goals hanging so I am very impressed with your resilience. A C grade is nothing to be sniffed at when you have so much going on.
