wildross
Are there any chain gyms in particular that you've found work well for the traveling powerlifter? (i.e., have a squat rack, allow deadlifts, easy to buy a day pass...)Good luck tomorrow!Gold's is usually ok, tho filled with Bros in the evening. Most are $15 a day. I think some lifetime's have passes too, but there are different types of lifetime gyms. Almost all of the Anytime Fitness have squat racks, but they don't do guest passes 1 Quote Warriors don't count reps and sets. They count tons. I think you can do a pure month to month. The 24 hour format is great for traveling, since you can flex it around your travel plans. I'll even stop when I'm driving between destinations to lift. Almost all of them have private showers, though very few offer towels (I've bought $1 towels at Walmart and then just left them or thrown them away.) 1 Quote Warriors don't count reps and sets. wildross
Well, I'm officially in for getting to 495/405/495 after this meet. I hadn't wanted to commit, but having met a couple other older lifters, and with the progress I've made....I just need to focus. I'm above 85% of the way there now. Plus one of the guys pointed out that I will be officially a masters 3 (60-69) Jan 1 of the year I turn 60. My birthday is in December. So I can start competing as a 60 year old when I'm 59 and 1 month (in about 3 1/2 years). Right now, I'm already above all the records for FL in the MR2, 125+ class. I think I can beat everything but the deadlift for the MR2, 120+ class. Larry just set the record at 502. So I should set some records while I'm over 125 kg, then lose weight and set a bunch more! I may be able to own the top of the old dog charts... 10 Quote Warriors don't count reps and sets. They count tons.
