As I've gotten more and more involved with my gym and fallen more in love with everything that goes beyond the barbell (though I still have the heart of a Warrior), I am making the full hop over to the Rangers with this next challenge!

 

I'll be back throughout the week leading up to the challenge to see if I can come up with a point system or something for this and to finesse some of these goals.

 

Main Quest

Moving down towards 190lbs! Just hit the sub-200 mark this week, so I'm getting closer and closer! 

 

1. Play Like a Ranger, Feel Like a Warrior

  • Make it to Raise the Bar (my gym's CrossFit-esque program that I'm part of) 5x each week! Of these sessions, 1 can be subbed with yoga if necessary.
  • Bonus point for 1 yoga class in addition to 5 RtB classes.
  • Bonus goal: get 1 PR in any of the following lifts: squat (front or back), clean, snatch, bench, deadlift.

2. Shop Like a Boss

  • I REALLY need to be better at grocery shopping and cooking more and eating out less, so this challenge is going to be hard for me, but ultimately better for my wallet and waistline! 
  • Go to grocery store at least once each week
  • To aid self in challenge: write shopping list on weekend

3. Clean Like a Disney Princess

  • Come, my animal friends! Let's clean house! I moved into a new apartment (studio by myself!) the other month, but I haven't had time to fully unpack and organize yet.
  • This may seem like it's not quite in line with main quest, but it's a huge point of stress for me and I know that by eliminating stressful things from my life, I will overall be happier and healthier. Cleaning up a small space I live in is pretty low-hanging fruit in terms of destressing, so this will be a good one to work on.
  • Taking a page out of my buddy Slates' book here: accomplish one organizing and one cleaning task each week.
    • Organization tasks: finish unpacking all boxes, organize desk, pickup closet floor, finish organizing kitchen, arrange hall closet, organize bathroom.
    • Cleaning tasks: clean bathroom, clean kitchen, do laundry, change sheets, Swiffer/vacuum floors

W00T W00T I know what you mean with the shopping, luckily I has a Wegmans 10 minutes away. Sadly I dont follow my budget and typically go over buying extra things on a whim..

Guess that means you are one step closer to doing that Beast with me in NC in Nov..... :D

 

Also, jcsimmons: Halo Top, Quest bars, organic oats, pumpkin spice muffins, pumpkin spice granola, WEGMANS YOU HAVE THIS YEAR ROUND WHY DO YOU MAKE ME BROKE. 

 

I live 2.2 miles from the Germantown Wegmans. I work 1.03 miles from it. It's always there making me want to spend all my money on everything.

UGH Wegmans. My true weakness. I live across the street from one.

 

That is an amazing yet horrible position. I would be there all the time buying food and bread from their bakery and restaurant style foods.

I got my butt kicked twice (in the best way possible) at Raise the Bar

Happy Friday!!!

 

I've had a great week of workouts. Anxiety hasn't flared up during them (which it was hardcore doing the week before last to the point of a panic attack mid-hill sprint. awkward) and they've all been really solid. I was planning on Mon-Thurs with Fri rest day and then Sat workout, but yesterday afternoon my coach posted the workout earlier than normal. And what was on tap for Friday? CLEANS!!! And wall balls!!! I love wall balls, which I know is akin to saying "I love burpees," but rest assured, I hate burpees. But I do love wall balls... anyway, I haven't done cleans in forever and I got waaayyyy too excited and immediately signed up for Friday morning class. Which was a bold move, because I did that this morning, and have my 6th day in a row of workouts tomorrow with whatever it brings. Rest is SO important, especially with how intense our workouts are. Oops  :nevreness:  Can't wait for tomorrow though!!! Hashtag gym nerd.

 

Cleaning goals for the weekend: clear the damn floor and clean the bathroom!!! There is stuff ALL OVER my floor from the flurries of packing and unpacking for four weddings I attended in July. That's right, four in one month. Ugh. But they're all done now! Time to finally settle in to my apartment!

Starting Week 2 off right with my favorite smoothie: banana, almond butter, oats, protein powder, cinnamon, and vanilla almond milk. Tastes like cookie dough in a cup  :peaceful:

 

Planning on hitting the grocery store after the gym tonight to grab some quick-cook type stuff! Going to plan the small list during work today.

Saw this floating around this morning in the wake of the Rousey v Correia fight. I've never followed the UFC or any fight stuff closely (slash at all), but I do think Rousey is a badass and I really admire her strength, both mentally and physically. As someone who values quiet confidence instead of a more brash approach, I loved this.

 

(and yes, Ronda is an outspoken spitfire of a person, but when it comes to her fights, she gets. sh*t. done.)

So I didn't get my "clean the floor" goal done over the weekend, but my friend is coming into town tomorrow and staying with me. SO it's time to POWER CLEAN THIS FLOOR!!! Which is wonderfully fitting since we did Clean & Jerk tonight at the gym (10lb PR and into the triple digits, woop woop!!!).

 

By power clean this floor, I mean move ALL THE SHIT somewhere else and put away as much as possible but really I'll probably stuff it in my hall closet and under the bed. So here's my note to my future self to check both of those places and properly put stuff away.

 

 

EDIT: It was a 15lb PR on my C&J!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
