So I signed up for the wipe out run that will be taking place here in Sacramento on September 5.

 

 

My main goal for my first 6week challenge is to compete and only stop to catch my breath only four times throughout the race. To do that these are the goals I need to meet:

 

Lose 20lbs by September 4 |STR + 3

 

Not really necessary but it will help me be healthier and in better shape overall for the run. I will work out for at least four days a week. Alternating between light and heavy workouts.

 

A= 22 days

B= 16 days

C= 11 days

D= 5 days

F= 0 days

Cut soda's out of my diet for 6 weeks |CON + 3

 

I say I don't drink a lot of sodas but three sodas a week adds up. so I will swap with water

 

A= 0 sodas

B= 3 sodas

C= 6 sodas

D= 9 sodas

F= 12 sodas

 

Run one mile each week for six weeks | STA + 3

 

yes I realized this goes past my event date but I don't care. I shall achieve becoming an assassin/scout/adventurer hybrid. To build up to this I need to practice everyday, or at least 5 days a week.

 

A= 6 miles

B= 5 miles

C= 4 miles

D= 3 miles

F= 2 miles

 

As a life goal, one thing I'm doing is trying to write a book, so as practice I'm currently writing stories on a fiction site. My goal is to write one chapter each week. :playful:

I dig that you have a writing goal. I enjoy writing as well, feel free to share any of your storytelling with me. I used to run quite a bit but years ago. You might be surprised at how quickly you adapt if you're getting a run in 2-3 days a week. Even when I had smoked a pack a day for 5 years and not run for 3 I was still able to work up to a 3 mile jog within 3-4 weeks with no breathers.

The pop goal is a great, easy way to be kind to yourself. I rarely drink pop because after swearing it off at different points it becomes sickly sweet to the palate. Like syrup.

My first challenge too, let's destroy it with awesomeness.

I'm a little confused about your first quest and how it's linked to your scoring.  Also what is your plan to achieve this quest?  Your other goals seem to support it so perhaps making another quest that supports it?

 

You might notice that someone has added a tag to your post.  This is not to box you into a corner but rather because your goals or lifestyle have links to the guild you've been tagged and we'd like to bring you to the attention of one of their guild ambassadors. These ambassadors will be able to offer you advice, encouragement and support on your goals.  You don't even have to wait around for them to come introduce themselves to you, you are more than welcome to pop into the Scouts' board and introduce yourself to the guildies there. I am also around to answer any questions that you might have so do not hesitate to PM me.

For me it looks like you had a workout goal, that you wanted to follow at least 3 times a week.

It's good to find quests, that help you fulfill your goal of losing weight. It's easier to follow a plan, that tells what you can do. Losing weight can be a tricky quest, because the scale can be mean.

That happens. I'm sometimes frustrated, when I try to post tables for example.

Are you intrested in anything specific? You know every guild is different and seems to have their own specialities. And yes, you can change guilds and enjoy them all. ;) I switched guilds last time, too.

I'm interested in meditation, yoga, martial arts, parkour, free running, weight training, and building speed. Not all at once mind you but I've always want to learn these things. Things that will push me to do to move. Besides they also look like fun after awhile.

So many fun things and guilds to explore for sure.  I was thinking Ranger/Scout when I first started but I realized my heart truly lies in endurance.  Granted there is not that big a difference between the guilds since so many overlap.  Definitely cruise by the various guilds and stop by the Scouts Tavern to say hi.  What is the wipe out run?  I admit it sounds intriguing.

the Wipeout run is a 5k obstacle course based off of the famous tv game show wipe out. the object of the run is to get from one end of the course to the other as fast as you can, while finishing as each obstacle as best you can. And each obstacle is based off the Tv show itself so that is going to be a challenge. you can dress up silly or not, and chose to go it alone or with a group.

 

After the main event, there is a fun-filled festival with vender that sell food and drinks. My mom and friend convinced me to do it, so we are going in a group.

Hey yeah, and no. I'm busy and tired. but that might be the weird combination of trying to workout and my body trying to get use to it.

 

I've manage to keep my workout to walking for two weeks straight. :numbness:  :grey:  :moody:

ok so doing the math and adding everything up

 

14 days of working out amounted to STR 2.37

 

no soda for 6 weeks amounted to CON 3

 

however there are zero miles ran (we didnt keep track of how much we ran) STA 0

 

and no chapters written WIS 0

 

 

but i did compete in the wipeout run, and it only took a good two hours to finish. Given that I've never done anything athletic in my life that its self was an achievement. But i dont know if this means i level up  or not.

I really admire your writing goal! Hope you're able to get something on paper this week! 

I'm a 33 y.o. mother of 3, wife to 1. I float between veganism and omnivorism, but will focus on Paleo during this mini challenge.  I am a drama/dance/English teacher.  Class: Aspiring Assassin.

 

 Main quest: Lose 10% body fat [0/10%]

Sub-quest 1: Cook one new recipe per week [0/2]   

Sub-quest 2: Walk 6,000+ steps per day [0/2]   

Sub-quest 3: Read 1 book for pleasure  [0/1]

 

My mini-quests for this challenge:

1.)  I will do the body weight challenge X1, 3 days per week.  Anything less? FAIL!

2.)  I will focus on a Paleo lifestyle, allowing dairy intermittently, but no to sugar and carbs except on weekends!  And I will only drink water on a daily basis (over 64 fl oz).

3.)  I will respond in writing and with positivity per week to 5 or more other newbie NF rebels working on challenges (stolen from a friend!)
