We won't get scared if the thing is not important to us. All of us know how good and empowering self confidence can be. Just focus on getting through this. If you finish this, of course it's a good thing. But scare not if you didn't, you're already a few steps closer by signing in !  :pride:

I think it's fantastic that you're working on your self esteem, but don't put too much focus on your looks being your main focus.  I think you'd also feel better if you focus on other areas of your life to build your self esteem. 

 

You might notice that someone has added a tag to your post.  This is not to box you into a corner but rather because your goals or lifestyle have links to the guild you've been tagged and we'd like to bring you to the attention of one of their guild ambassadors. These ambassadors will be able to offer you advice, encouragement and support on your goals.  You don't even have to wait around for them to come introduce themselves to you, you are more than welcome to pop into the Adventurers' board and introduce yourself to the guildies there. I am also around to answer any questions that you might have so do not hesitate to PM me.

I love the "quit smoking" goal! I think you will find that you can be just as happy & healthy without smoking, and probably even lots moreso. I know it is hard, but I also know you have a lot of willpower and you can do anything you set your mind to doing.

 

Regarding the, "look in the mirror and feel good about what I see!" part... I would encourage you to not put as much emphasis on where you are now, but rather on where you are going. I am 6'3" and just above 250 right now. I am still a big guy and 20, 30, maybe 40 lbs overweight yet. When I look in the mirror, I am not happy with myself. HOWEVER, 2 months ago I was over 270 lbs. So even though I am not where I want to be, when I compare myself to who I was yesterday, I giggle with glee.

 

So my advise is to compare who you are today to who you were yesterday. Take the whole journey 1 day at a time. 1 small decision at a time. It is amazing how grand the effects can be when you total up all of those small changes.

Thanks, for the input! Your right I do put to much emphasis on what I see. My challenge starts on Monday.I've told my support group all about it! They will help keep me accountable, Sunday I will plan my meals for the week and shop.I have my workout charts ready and made a little place in my art room for meditation! I've got my fight song 🎶 , my motivation !

I had my last smoke at 3am. this morning! I wad ok, just keeping myself busy, did have to run home after work, so I could change and go to park so I could power walk.Felt better after an hour!!!

I think I am ready for the challenge! Hopefully I'm doing things right!

day two i wasn't sure when the challenge started.the 26th or 27th,so i started on the 26th,as not to miss it! I do have a couple of questions, strength training- should i just keep doing the beginner body workout? I am five foot one.I weigh 102.3 lbs. my next question,where do we do we go to check out the minis? My update, decided i need to hydrate better-upped water intake to 2 litres min. daily, No smoking, 2nd day!!!

My body is still fighting to get rid of all the toxins, from how I abused it for so many years! It was all self induced ,so the battle goes on! I did a 20 min. stretch, had a almond milk organic mix berry smoothie! I'm going to the park for a walk and workout!!Being outside always makes me feel better😊

Day 2:

  Lunch: spinach salad ,sliced tomatoes,1sm.chick. breast

  In the afternoon i had 1 cup of green grapes

  Dinner: 1 pc. salmon ,2 cps. mixed greens with lemon juice

  1 cp. melon

  Spent the day with my dad! So going to the park is what i needed!

  warm up -a power walk and stretches by all the tree's

  workout- push ups, leg lifts, squats and running around playing with

 all the new equipment! So much fun!Like an attitude adjustment!

  My dad has alzheimers.His favorite place in his shop ! Where we

  we sit, drink coffee and smoke! Today i did not smoke! yay!!!

  Life Quest !!!

   it seems to help in my meditation to focus on a single candle

It's my 4th day without cigs! Had some crazy withdrawal ( could be I quit drinking for six weeks alcohol was a trigger)so the combo.of all that toxin leaving my system,made me sick! Avitus who quit at the same time said he was also experiencing the same thing! I feel really positive about it this time! Something I've never felt before! Like it's done ,my choice,for me!!!

I'm 5'1 as well. We hobbits have to stick together. At least I'm referring to myself as a halfling. Your goals look solid. I'm pretty sure you can achieve your goals this way.

Thanks😊 I was doing great without anything,but got an e-cig for when I visit my dad! Sometimes I don't deal with his Alzheimer's well! But I'm hanging! The encouragement is awesome!!!

I have a better attitude today! Still no smoking 🚭 last shift of the week!!! Then its outside play time! Going on a 3day mini vacation!planned out our food list, all paleo ,lots of good healthy munchies! Meditation by the lake! Lots of fun exercise (if you can call swimming,hiking,biking and running around on the beach exercise)!!!!

Summary:

. I planned, shopped,prepared paleo meals (90%) I feel so much better! I also was able to munch on good healthy food while ,I recovered from my smoking addiction! I also had plenty of exercise to do when I would have a moment, once again a side effect of nicotine withdrawal! That's where meditation came in ,helping me with all the stuff in my head! I have actually been amazingly positive throughout these last weeks! All my quests' were focused around my life quest! To work together to build good habits while getting rid of the bad ones! This has been an amazing journey! I've learned a great deal,about myself, and learned alot of good information on positive change!!! Thanks! To all who have shared in my journey! I've taken some big steps, and some baby ones( still trying to fit socially) I'll get there!!!😊 Thanks! For your patience,I squirrel alot!
