Here's hoping. It'd be kinda nice to be "international elite". 

 

A couple of weeks and then I should start to see some PBs. It's frustrating when you just grind and grind and grind on lifts for months on end, but it is worth it when you peak.

 

It seems like non-judgemental ninja is in order:

Sorry for the misery yesterday. I just get really down sometimes. 

 

Good training session this morning Jaymul. 

 

 

 

Saturday 1/8:

 

Squats:

 

(20kg x10)

(40kg x10)

(60kg x5)

(80kg x5)

102.5kg x5x5

 

Pretty easy today. Finally got my belt absolutely perfectly fastened and got the slight white out from the pressure by the end of each set.

 

Bench:

 

(20kg x10)

(40kg x10)

(50kg x5)

60kg x5x5

 

Deadlift:

 

(60kg x5)

(80kg x5)

105kg x5x4

 

Back was feeling kinda tired and hip was a little sore, but these weren't hard. I'm going to have a nice hot bath this afternoon with a book and a good round of NSAIDs.

 

 

 

Even deadlifts are coming around. :)

And 10 rep sets are more than just cardio.

SS got started on strong lifts if I am not mistaken. I don't remember if that is what you are doing. I like the simplicity.

They're evil but do a damned good job at building increased capacity.

SS got started on strong lifts if I am not mistaken. I don't remember if that is what you are doing. I like the simplicity.

I did. I had a lot of success with it. I really enjoyed it too. My current programme is different in terms of sets and reps but retains the practice of doing a full body session three days a week.

Haha, I once tried to do push ups while cat sitting - the cat came and stood under my head!!

Awww!

I went to a morning yoga class at Sweaty Betty this morning and the teacher didn't turn up so we led our own Mysore session and the shop gave us free goodies as an apology.

Don't drop out:

Okay, I'm terrible for dropping out of challenges of late, so first goal is just to make it through the challenge without getting so miserable about my challenge that I drop out.

To counteract this, I'm going to post a kitten gif every day (and feel free to join me).

Hmmm... well, I haven't dropped out and I have posted some kitten gifs. Feel that I'm succeeding with this so far.

 

Work that rock-hard ass

Okay, so I have a rock hard ass... and not in a good way.

Basically, my glutes are so knotted up that they're practically solid and it's actually causing me a lot of pain. The goal is to lax ball my glutes for at least 5 minutes a day (excluding days when I have massages). Also need to keep stretching out my adductors and rolling them, because they go ping a little too often at the moment when I used to be able to pancake.

Also arranged with a qualified friend to get regular sports massages on Saturdays. This is going to be painful.

Not doing this every day but I have done something every day (rolling, yoga or stretching). Need to arrange another session with my friend.

 

SLEEP!

I don't sleep enough, so I'm going to try to get 7h30m sleep a night. I'm not going to penalise myself as long as the time between lights out and the alarm is more than 7h30m but the aim is to get that much sleep based on my FitBit readings.

Ummm... Yeah. This isn't going well. I'm trying but keep being woken up by pain in my glute. The lights are out but I'm awake more than I'd like. :(

 

I went to bed at 11:30 last night and still failed to get enough sleep before the pain woke me up at 6:45am (alarm set for 8). :(

Sorry to hear you wake up in the middle of the night with glute pain.

I struggle with sleep and wake up in the middle of the night. Hopefully it is not an old man issue.

My cat thinks that licking sweat off my legs while I'm stretching after a run is just the best.

Haha, gross! My old cat used to lick my feet as a greeting!!

My cat used to give me foot massages when I got home from nights out. He doesn't do it any more but it was such a nice habit!
