Hello!

Stats

Sex: F

Age: 27

Height: 5'4

Weight: ??? terrified to check

Intro: I've always been conscious about my weight and have never stuck to a real plan to lose it! I've been super motivated before only to fail a week or two weeks in. I'm looking for accountability and the support of a community :rolleyes-new:

Main Quest: To fit comfortably into my old jeans without the muffin top. Basically I want to go one size down.

Goals:

  1. Have a small-ish breakfast. Have baked chicken and veggies for lunch about 4 times a week. Go a bit light on the carbs for dinner (cut around 30% out).
  2. Get over fear of going to the gym. Get used to working the weight machines and just do it!
  3. Drink 2 tall glasses of water every day!

Life Quest: Quit complaining about myself on social media.

Motivation: To not cringe when I see myself in the mirror.. To have the confidence to wear a swimsuit and go to the beach. I also want to become stronger and not set myself up to get bigger as I age.

I'd ideally like to visit the gym 3 times a week and do this kind of full body workout

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/ultimate-beginners-machine-workout-for-women.html

Realistically, I just want to set foot in the gym and get used to it. Actually do what I say I'll do.

I prefer weight training over cardio... well, I prefer no cardio at all :onthego:

Let's do this  :love_heart:

Good Luck with your challenge

Wohoo ! Kudos to you for already checking out the local gym !

And getting yourself a new gears is a good move too.

I'm not sure if you already planning to do this, but you could try to make the drinking as a habit as soon as you woke up. It will really boost your mood to conquer the day. All the best for Monday !  :encouragement:

Working out at the gym was always torture for me too! Always looking over my shoulder, wondering if I was being looked at because I was doing a lift wrong, taking too long, or just not lifting enough. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how little people care. Best of luck in your challenge!

Thanks! That's a good idea, I'll try drinking it before breakfast.

Yeah, I'm kind of paranoid but I know deep down that nobody cares, haha.

Thank you

I haven't been to the gym in years (I prefer bodyweight these days) but Iagree with HueyLewis. The last time I was in a gym, no one cared what I was doing, they were too busy worrying about what they were doing.

Signed up for the gym and had my first workout today.

I worked on a few different areas with the weight machines. Got a feel for things =) Didn't want to go too hardcore on the first day.

Drank a lot of water and finished off with 20 mins walking at a decent pace on an incline. That got me to sweat =o

Man, that was actually fun. I didn't really like the last bit of cardio though.

Can't wait to go on Wednesday.

Awesome job getting to the gym! It's definitely a different world! I have found that I prefer getting cardio in through interval training. You might look something up about that, it gets your heart rate up without the need to do anything on the treadmill! Not sure whether a burpee or a box jump is actually better than walking on a treadmill, but since you're trying new things... =)

Oooo, don't really know anything about interval training. I'll read up on it!

2nd day at the gym. I was excited to go and spent a good hour there.

I definitely drink enough water on gym days. They have this special fancy fountain and everyone gets a fancy water bottle, so I drink the whole bottle's worth twice when I'm there.

Nutrition: I'm lucky to have woken up to some eggs and ham =o

Breakfast: 1 slice of buttered toast, 2 eggs with some ham, a little spinach.

Lunch: Made guac and ate it with half a pita bread. After the gym I ate natto (fermented beans)...

wonder what dinner will be =D

I've been going to the gym on and off =(

Had to make a 1 week trip to a different prefecture, then I had a 1 week job and would only have a little time to spend with my SO plus obon (lots of people over to the house) sooooo...

I'm going today and I WILL turn my arms into spaghetti!! Nothing else going on for a while so I can finally get my routine going again.
