Ouch! What happened?

 

 

PR Sumo Deadlift ended badly?

 

I dropped a weight on it about 6 months ago. It cracked very slightly. The crack has gotten bigger and bigger and bigger and I caught something on it the other day and it ripped the rest of the way :(

 

I pushed it back down but I don't have much hope it will stay :(

 

Sucked so bad for squats yesterday.

Once they've decided to come off, they're gone. It's unfortunate and a totally weird and ugly regrowing process. Take pictures of your frankentoe when the new nail starts coming in (if it hasn't under there already).

okay, full update for the last few days:

 

SATURDAY:

 

1) Headspace: yes
2) Train smart: 
a) Lifting - yes, but training was rough. bench 150x5, 155x5, 160x5, OHP 105, 107.5, 110, 112.5, 115, 120x2 (huge rep PR), 95x10
b ) Rehab - yes
c) Stretching - yes
3) Diet: 
yes

4) Productivity
a) adult task: I vacuumed my entire apartment and put together a portable closet I bought
b )  work at desk at least 75% of day? day off!
c) phone in other room? day off!
d) On time for all scheduled things? ...no
e) Apartment clean?  yes

 

SUNDAY:

1) Headspace: yes

2) Train smart: 
a) Lifting - off day
b ) Rehab - yes
c) Stretching - yes

yes, and prepped for the week

c) Stretching - yes
3) Diet:

a) adult task: I did the dishes?

I thought 90% of 405 would be 365 pounds.  Wait!  You were talking about squats!

 

You do Bench and OHP in the same day?  Last time I tried it was bad news.  It was about a year and a half ago when I got 120x2 for the first time and that PR felt huge.  So gratz on that!

only service animals are allowed at camp and also i'm flying - so unfortunately mads gets to go to boarding for the week :( luckily she LOVES her boarding place, so that's a plus!

Okay, I haven't updated in almost a week so it's time!

Checking off Headspace and diet for every day.

Tuesday - off day from lifting, did NF Yoga for stretching, I feel like I did something adult but I don't remember. I did work at my desk with my phone in the other room. My team is getting frustrated with this rule :P

Wednesday - Training Bench was 175x2, 165x3x2, 160x2x2, then deadlift.... a few doubles and singles and then 315x5

Adult task failure, not productive.

Thursday - off day, adult task was putting a bunch of $$ into savings

Friday - squat 262.5x3x1, 265x3x1, 205x8, front squats, accessory. worked all night. adult task was getting one of my costumes for camp.

Saturday - bench 180x5x1, 185x1x1, 150x8, then ohp and accessory. did an adult task but can't talk about it here.

sunday - off off off :D worked on costume for camp!

You are making gains.  In your April competition, you did 100 / 110 / 120 kg, correct?  1RM Max is now a triple.

I did 115/117.5/120, but either way those were singles. 3x1= 3 sets of 1. Friday's goal was 6 sets of 1 at 8-9RPE.

Looks like you did well - One or two slips on adult tasks but otherwise getting everything done, it seems... including costume work! You'll have to share a picture after camp, I want to see all the costumes after seeing all these challenges talk about them!!

Total adulting win. You didn't stop and go home because oh-noez-there's-a-hole-waahhh (I've totally done this before, though), you didn't waste money on buying a new pair at the closest location just to make do, you were practical, sucked it up, did what you needed to do at the gym and kept it moving. Now, if you went home, put them in the laundry basket, washed them without mending them, put them back in your clean-clothes-depository, and wore them again, tthhheeeennnn you might be #antiadult (but I've done that before, too).
