Main quest: Focus on overall health get back into shape and be the best possible version of myself. This ultimate version will meet the following requirements, be between 190 and 200 lbs, between 17 and 19 percent BF, and become bendy. I have never been real flexible and it is something I've always wanted to improve. I have been out of the military for almost 4 years now and am looking at getting back into uniform. My main quest is to join a reserve branch of the military next year. This has been on my mind for about a year now. The extra income and benefits would be nice, but I get back to that community and if anything was to happen and space would be available I could activate and return to active duty for a short period of time to get back on my feet. Finally I have 5 years in the Marine Corps (and 3 IRR) and that time has not really counted for anything so going into the reserves would use that time towards retirement.

 

 

 

Quest 1: Eating on the Bebop. Track food, limit breads and pastas, increase veggie intake of all colors.

 

Space is a rough place to live especially when you are a bounty hunter. The ship comes first it keeps you alive and eats into most of the bounty money. Money to keep everyone floating through the black is hard to come by when you are a bounty hunter you have to keep catching the bounties to survive. As thus I am planing to track my food and macros in order to make sure I am getting the most bang for my buck as far as food goes. And since food can be quite expensive I am going to work towards getting back to IF I'm looking for a window of 1100 - 1900.

 

My goal macros are as follows (and I will follow them this time around) average less than 2000 Calories a day per week, average less than 100 grams of fat per day per week, Average less than 150 grams of carbs per day per week shoot for 100G, and average 180 grams of protein per day per week which if I limit starchy foods and bread this should be easy to do. I'm sick of bread right now anyway I keep buying bread and within a week it has been getting moldy and thus needs to be thrown away which is not reasonable when food and money is scarce in the black.

Quest 2: Spike's training: be like water. Actively stretch/yoga for at least 120 min a week.

Spike is a martial arts and weapons master. Through all of his fights this becomes quite evident and he is also quite flexible. Since I am in no way a martial arts master I will be working with Spike for two hours a week to become more flexible. He almost became the sensei to one person and provide the following bit of advice.

Quest 3: Jet's training program. Work out 5 times a week can be a combination of the gym and running as long as I get 5 per week.

Jet is the head of this rag tag group of oddballs and the main person who keeps the ship flying. He is a former ISSP agent and as is the most muscular member of the crew. In an effort to better myself and prepare for the rigors of bounty hunting I will be working out 5 times a week. This can be any combination of running, lifting, or cross training.

Quest 4: Training with Radical Edward. get the highest score I can get in my current class. spend at least an hour a week on duolingo.

 

Radical Edward is the most queer character aboard the bebop and can be argued the smartest with maybe the exception of Ein the dog. With Ed as a tutor I will remain diligent with my school studies to strive for an A in the class which ends on OCT 18. Also I am planning on further expanding my education to language courses. I will spend two hours a week doing either Duolingo or Rosetta Stone. I will try to break this up into several 10 minute sessions throughout the week.

Good luck with your reserve endeavor.  It may not be your thing, but federal civil service will also allow you to "buy back" your active duty time toward a civilian retirement, and you get to claim vet's preference for hiring.  It's been a good road for my family, even when it's frustrating working with the stinking civilians. ;)

JC, will you be my favourite yoga partner ever for week 1? I can yell at you until you do stuff. And I'll tell you my training days and you can judge me for being lazy. It could be all awesome. :3

Thanks, I know its not for everyone just like active isn't, but it's less of a commitment and I can transfer into the IRR quickly enough. I'm still looking for a GS job and there are possible openings in my current job in the next couple of years so there is always that. A stinking civilian is better than being a third class contractor.

I picked weekly changing goals this time, so I don't know if I'll stick to yoga beyond week 1. :P:D But always feel free to shame me for not doing any sort of workout.

Did you already schedule the workouts for next week? Mine should be Monday, wednesday, Friday, Sunday. (Days inbetween are meant to be running days. Unless I have to swap something because it's raining too much. We really have autumn now.)

I forgot about the weekly changes :( its been a long week. Very well I will continue to shame you for not working out. If I dont see anything I will try and find shameful bob ross (or the rare Drill instructor bob ross since that was a thing before painting).

 

I havent even finished my goals yet (i have them just need to theme them up add all the gifs and videos and explain why I chose what I did) sadly that will likely have to wait until tomorrow. 

 

Since I need to workout 5 days out of 7 AND do 120 minutes of Yoga/stretching a week I am looking at workouts Mon-FRI with ~20-30 mins of NF yoga on M-W-F and another 30 mins on the weekend or do the P90x Yoga which is 1.5 hours and then do the P90X stretching which is an hour on 2 different days.

 

I'm looking at STR training M-W-F and running on Tues and Thurs as it is cooling off here and I can do things outside without dying.
