Anamae
Heyo! awesomesue
Welcome to the fist challenge! Pretty succinct goals. Do you have a basic schedule to follow for goal 1? Are you grading the goals for example if you happen to drink 2 energy drinks is it a fail for the week or simply less points/lower grade? The community here is fantastic. Everyone wants to succeed and help others get that win as well. Looking around the forums you can finds all kinds of groups to hang out with during the challenges and loads of info. Glad you are here and good luck! trawlerman
Hi Ana! This is my first challenge too. You can do it! Rah! Rah!(I'd look downright scary in a cheerleading costume; I'm doing my best here!)Keep it up with the water. I've been trying the same, with a goal of drinking at least two litres during my work day. Most days, I go above and beyond even that. It's not so hard once you build the habit. I've found that it also helps to find a bottle that you love. I'm currently loving a Camelbak Chute. It's the best water bottle I've ever had and I carry it with me everywhere. Quote RunKeeper - https://runkeeper.com/user/trawlerman/profile Link to comment
HedgeMage
Welcome, Ana! I absolutely know what it's like to feel trapped in a not-really-you body. I've lost about 4.5" (about 11.5 cm) off my waist in the last ~1.5 years, and I was nowhere near my lifetime max a year and a half ago. Things that helped me were: Figuring out what all my food sensitivities were and cutting them out.Adopting a protein-heavy diet.Strength training (which generally has a bigger long-term impact on fat loss than cardio).Getting two medical conditions that were nuking my metabolism under control.Surrounding myself with the right kind of supportive people. If trawlerman's favorite water bottle suggestion may work for you, here's another you can try: I have water bottles everywhere (along with those effervescent cleaning tabs in case they get gross from disuse). At work, in my car, in my gym bag, in my training bag, and all over my house. I try to make water convenient, so I don't fall into the trap of grabbing something else whenever I feel busy (which is always). One other bit of unsolicited advice: consider planning rewards for yourself for each goal met. A little positive reinforcement can go a long way! You're off to a great start. 1 Quote "What's the goal here? What's the lesson here? What's the best use of my time right now?" <-- Rory Miller's "three sacred questions" "Lacking in humility? saturnreturn
My motivation is that I detest the way I look, I hate being fat and feeling uncomfortable in everything that I wear. I can so relate to feeling uncomfortable in everything I wear. My body completely changed after giving birth to my daughter, and nothing is quite like it was pre-pregnancy, so I have no idea how to dress myself because the shapes and patterns that were once flattering are now decidedly not. How is your challenge going so far? Looking forward to keeping up with your progress! 1 Quote Link to comment
Blaidd
How's your first week been? You might notice that someone has added a tag to your post. This is not to box you into a corner but rather because your goals or lifestyle have links to the guild you've been tagged and we'd like to bring you to the attention of one of their guild ambassadors. These ambassadors will be able to offer you advice, encouragement and support on your goals. You don't even have to wait around for them to come introduce themselves to you, you are more than welcome to pop into the Adventurers' board and introduce yourself to the guildies there. I am also around to answer any questions that you might have so do not hesitate to PM me. Anamae
Hi all!Thank you for your comments and well wishes. I haven't been doing as good as I had hoped unfortunately but that is mainly due to some joint problems I have been having. I will definitey look into getting myself a drink bottle that I like very soon. 1 Quote Link to comment
