Week 1 Day 5

As mentioned before, today was a slow day quest-wise as I was at work all day and only had time to play badminton before heading to bed now.

Briniel's quests:

Food Quest: Avoid white flour, avoid industrial sugar, drink at least 2l of water a day, don't drink my calories - all good, I brought some leftover fish to work and had some filled pumpkin my boyfriend made for dinner (5/7)

Bonus Food Quest: eat fish or seafood 3 times - nope. Well, nothing new and the idea was to eat three different fish dishes, so I'm not going to count it. (2/3)

Fitness Quest: Do some sort of exercise for 30+ minutes 4 times a week - I went to play badminton which was great and then hurt my knee again which was not so great. It was the left one this time and hurt when I bend it too much whith weight on it. It's fine if I bend it lying down... don't know what to make of it yet (3/4)

Do 10+ minutes of yoga each day - I'll do this when I'm in bed for some sleep-good-yoga (5/7)

Bonus Fitness Quest: do something good for my joints 180 minutes in total - Maybe I'll add a few minutes of this to the yoga session, but I plan on doing most of the rest on the weekend (93/180)

Fun Quest: Socialise Quest - I talked to lots of people at work, didn't skip the badminton and met a friend there (8,25/10)

Trevor's quests:

Food Quest:

  • eat fruit or veggies 4 times a week - since he made that pumpkin dish and also ate some of it, I consider this one done (4/4)
  • eat low-carb or semi low-carb every day - I think he got this (5/7)
  • have breakfast 3 times the first week - I vote for no again? I guess he'll make up for it on the weekend (1/3)
  • stay under 2000kcal every day - I have no way to guesstimate this, but I'll vote yes (3/7)

Fitness Quest: Use the rowing machine 3 times a week - he got home before I did so he might have gotten this done, but I doubt it. (1/3)

Do back health exercises 4 times a week - same as above. Is he doing these at work? The instructions are right where I left them when he asked for them... (0/4)

Fun Quest:

  • Do household chores that are due this week - he vacuumed and tidied up so he's done with this one (2/2)
  • Be a better driver - I think he's been pretty good here. There's 3 points to earn each day, he should have them all by now (10/10)
  • Sleeping hygiene - There's 2 points to earn each day here (for waking up early and getting to bed early and I'll just assume he's got the 50% he aimed fo (7/7)

I still have the chance to get 100% on everything and I totally plan to make it so. This will include one more fish dish aaaaand a yoga workout session on the weekend. I'm kinda fed up with my routine from last challenge and my knee still isn't up to shape after those deep squat exercises on monday so I'll find a long, exhausting yoga routine and do that one. This will be fun! I also need to prepare lots of yummy food because I'll be working monday and tuesday next week and need to have stuff to take with me. Yumyumyum.

Week 1 Day 6+7

This weekend was twofold - I hardly did anything on saturday and then did all the things today. I think I should try to be more consistent with my efforts ;) I'm very happy with how the first week went, though. Trevor not so much. He found that this format doesn't really work for him. He feels stressed out and pressured instead of motivated. I think it kills of his intrinsic motivation to have a list/challenge tell him what he needs to do. He'd prefer to do stuff in his own time when he actually wants to do them. I totally get it, but I'm a bit sad that this isn't something we're going to do together. So I guess it's just me an the litter box from here on out ;)

Briniel's quests:

Food Quest: Avoid white flour, avoid industrial sugar, drink at least 2l of water a day, don't drink my calories - this went perfectly, with lots of leftovers yesterday and loooots of cooking in preparation for two workdays today (7/7)

Bonus Food Quest: eat fish or seafood 3 times - I had Flammkuchen with Shrimps (pictures will follow) so I'm all good on that front (3/3)

Fitness Quest: Do some sort of exercise for 30+ minutes 4 times a week - I did an intense yoga weight loss workout yesterday as my 4th piece of exercise (4/4)

Do 10+ minutes of yoga each day - And I did lots of yoga today to get my 180 minutes for the bonus quest, so this is totally done (7/7)

Bonus Fitness Quest: do something good for my joints 180 minutes in total - I had planned to make up on this on the weekend but only did a few minutes yesterday and had more than an hour left today. I was going to do all of that but then my internet died in the middle of the video and I decided to call it a day and go take a shower. In the shower, I kept thinking on how close I was to the perfect 100% score for this week... so I tried again when I got out and did the remaining 23 minutes of the video just now ;) (184/180)

Fun Quest: Socialise Quest - I talked to three people today and yesterday (the people at the grocery store count, right?) called someone aaaaand contacted the last person on my list that I wanted to get back in touch with. The phone number I had didn't work anymore so I left a facebook message and I really really really hope the reply will be favorable. Keeping my fingers crossed! (10/10)

This is what my spreadsheet looks like now. Imagine little "perfect"s in all these empty rating slots ;)

I still have some preparations to be done for tomorrow so I'll share pictures later. I hope all your first weeks went well, I wanted to check in with everyone but I really need to get enough sleep in to survive tomorrow. I'll probably leave the house at 5am and get back at 8pm or something. Have a great start into week 2, I'll try to get back at everyone by wednesday :)

Oh, almost forgot:

I decided to eliminate singing week (or have it at the week were there's choir rehearsal scheduled every day ;) ) and have do-it-now-week last. Otherwise, a perfect score on do-it-now-week would mean nothing left to do for repair-and-mend-week and the like ;)

Coming up next week: where Briniel eats 100g of protein each day, does 100 burpees over the course of the week (with jumping, without the push-up) aaaaaand cleans up the apartment!!

Oh my, what have I gotten myself into...

Thanks, NK! And thanks SGFS for dropping by. We'll see about those burpees...

Week 2 Day 1

Short update: got home 7.30pm (left home 5:20am) and am kind of tired. Not too bad but I think it will be tomorrow after another long day. I brought chicken-pineapple-chili with me (ate it cold with a side of steamed brokkoli) which brought me to about 80g of protein. I had some apple-banana-quark-joghurt-honey mix which should have another 7-10g. There's still something lacking but I'm full. Didn't do any burpees and I probably won't until wednesday. This week is going to be a tough one with 3 days away from home...

Briniel's quests:

Food Quest: Avoid white flour, avoid industrial sugar, drink at least 2l of water a day, don't drink my calories - fine as always, just need to finish my second water bottle. There was too little drinking over the day (1/7)

Bonus Food Quest: have 100g of protein each day - I'm at 87 and I think that's enough Hah, I forgot I had made myself energy bars! I just did the math and there was 18g of protein in the portion I ate yesterday. WIN!!! (105/100)

Fitness Quest: Do some sort of exercise for 30+ minutes 4 times a week - Nope. Wednesday morning? (0/4)

Do 10+ minutes of yoga each day - Will do right before bed (1/7)

Bonus Fitness Quest: do 100 burpees - Haha. Nope. (0/100)

Fun Quest: Cleanup Week

I didn't get around to posting what this entails, so here goes (0/10 Points earned so far):

  • tidy up the sidebord next to the desk (1 Point)
  • buy folders for my music sheets and sort them (1P)
  • clean out the right drawer of the desk and maybe move computer there (1P)
  • sort through and tidy up left side of the wardrobe (1P)
  • sort through and tidy up right side of the wardrobe (1P)
  • sort through and tidy up the cupboard with all the things (we just dump everything in there that doesn't have any other space) (1P)
  • sort through and tidy up the basement compartment (oh the horrors... this is totally worth 3P)
  • gift, donate or throw away the stuff I don't need anymore (1P)

My oh my that is a nice looking spreadsheet!  Congrats on a successful week 1!  And sorry to hear that Trevor didn't like the format - I tried to get my husband to join and he backed out for similar reasons.  As long as he's staying healthy and motivated on his own, it works for him!  We're always happy to have you (and the litter box) around here anyway!  ;)

Excellent first week!

Hey there, I'm catching up on threads after a weekend away. You're doing so well!! I'm inspired. :)

Yay! Awesome first week and a solid start to the second week! Great job!

Thank you!! I hope week 2 goes equally well, I've just had two killer work days and really need to get this party started now!

My oh my that is a nice looking spreadsheet!  Congrats on a successful week 1!  And sorry to hear that Trevor didn't like the format - I tried to get my husband to join and he backed out for similar reasons.  As long as he's staying healthy and motivated on his own, it works for him!  We're always happy to have you (and the litter box) around here anyway!   ;)

Good to know I'm not the only one. Sigh. I really would have loved this to be our thing, you know? I could really get into this and rant away, but I know it's only going to get my mood down, so I won't ;)

Thank you! Sadly, no pvp anymore. But I'll keep the spreadsheets coming ;)

Week 2 Day 2

Another work day today and singing lessons afterwards, so I won't get done anything today, either. Maybe those people with 40+-hour-weeks can't relate but I'm so used to having a whole day at my disposal that the idea of getting stuff done after having been away from home more than 10 hours just seems ridiculous ;) I dread the day that I start a full-time-job... but I also really really want a full-time-job... oh well, I'll handle it when I get there.

Briniel's quests:

Food Quest: Avoid white flour, avoid industrial sugar, drink at least 2l of water a day, don't drink my calories - I don't even feel like I need to update this anymore (2/7)

Bonus Food Quest: have 100g of protein each day - I didn't really plan ahead for this so there was nothing specifically protein-loaded in todays diet. So when I got home I just dumped everything with a high protein-count together for som weird oatmeal-almond-seeds-peanutbutter-mix that actually tasted quite good. Since my dinner had shrimps in it, I'm now at aproximately 83g. Maybe I'll eat another egg or two later... (Edit: I didn't) (83/100)

Fitness Quest: Do some sort of exercise for 30+ minutes 4 times a week - Still nothing. (0/4)

Do 10+ minutes of yoga each day - Will do right before bed before bedtime, because yesterday I did a half-assed version in bed that really shouldn't have counted. (2/7)

Bonus Fitness Quest: do 100 burpees - Nope. Maaaaybe with the yoga? Did 10 of these after yoga!! (10/100)

Fun Quest: Cleanup Week - I'll tidy up a bit but I'll tackle the first major things tomorrow (0/10)

So, the week has started quite uneventful... I really hope to get going from tomorrow on, but there's also lots of other stuff on my plate (preparing for that week of choir rehearsals, dentist's appointment, meeting some people I contacted last week...) so I don't expect to get 100% in everything this week. I'll do my best and hope you'll cheer me on anyways ;)

Heh, yeah getting stuff done with a full-time job and a commute is difficult... but at the same time, having your days scheduled out kind of helps.

Nice job with the food questing!  I think it's awesome that your first goal is so ingrained you barely even have to track it anymore - that's real progress!  As for everything else, just do your best and see what you can fit in!  You're still doing awesome.  :)

I love your spreadsheet and how you set up your challenge.  Changing things up a bit weekly sounds really nice, I may steal that idea in the future.  I am sad about the pvp not working out, I was really admiring that part of your challenge.  Maybe you can change his mind in the future!  Maybe it was the litter boxes that intimidated him too much. (i make my kids clean our litter boxes, since they are technically their cats!)
