honeybadger
Captain's log, Stardate 40200.0. Five days until I embark upon my next 6 week challenge. My goals, not yet defined. They are, at present, slowly taking shape. For now, much needed sleep. 5 Quote Ranger/Recruit/Professional Do-gooder Challenge #1, Challenge #2, Challenge #3, Challenge #4, Challenge #5, Challenge #6 Challenge #7, Challenge #8, Challenge #9, Challenge #10, Challenge #11, Challenge #12, Challenge #13, Challenge #14, Challenge #15, Challenge #16 , Current Challenge "The Hardest thing in this world is to live in it. honeybadger
Here we boldly go.....Captain's log supplemental, Stardate 40300.0. After a restful night sleep my goals for the next 6 weeks are clear. 1. Explore strange new worlds:4/6 weeks of the challenge I will explore something new in regards to my exercise routine. For example- go to the gym at lunch, or in the morning, take a new class at the gym, go to yoga. As long as it is not part of my regular routine it will count. 2. Seek out new life and new civilizations:This will be a variation of my Scooby gang goal from last challenge. I will post on 2 new threads each week, at least 1 must be outside of the guild. 3. Boldly go where no man Honeybadger has gone before:I will log 28 workouts this challenge. The past challenges have had 23,23 and 25 workouts. I will run 18 time this challenge. The past challenges have had 15,8, and 12 runs. This challenge I want to keep things simple. I am transitioning back to work after having the summer off so getting into my work routine will be somewhat of a challenge all by itself. I also work an hour away from home so 2 hours a day commuting makes for a long day, every day, before factoring in gym time. I will continue to abstain from candy. At this point I want to see how long I can go without it. I am also continuing my diet and calorie goals from last challenge. It's working for me so I'm not changing a thing. My goal will be to keep my daily calorie average between 1300-1400 cal/day. As long as I stay away from the candy dish and the dining hall it should be easy to keep the momentum. My snack basket is stocked with good stuff. My Stardate will show my progress. Each digit will correspond to an aspect of the challenge. Today's stardate for example. 4 0 3 0 0 . 0 Challenge # Week # Day Workout # Run # 5 Quote Ranger/Recruit/Professional Do-gooder Challenge #1, Challenge #2, Challenge #3, Challenge #4, Challenge #5, Challenge #6 Challenge #7, Challenge #8, Challenge #9, Challenge #10, Challenge #11, Challenge #12, Challenge #13, Challenge #14, Challenge #15, Challenge #16 , Current Challenge "The Hardest thing in this world is to live in it. honeybadger
Captain's log, Stardate 40400.0. Just finished my first week (3 days really) back to work. So far the transition has been fine, no major issues. The hardest part is getting home and only having a few hours before bed to get everything done. I have gotten 3 workouts in so far. I forgot how good the treadmills at the gym are and what a big difference that can make. Right now I am looking forward to getting caught up on everyones new challenges... I'm already behind and the challenge hasn't started yet. AND thanks for all the pics! honeybadger
I intended to hit the gym today but got distracted by...wish I knew.... My BF took our house guests to the Vineyard so I had the house to myself for the first time in almost two weeks. It was AWESOME! So I really don't feel bad about not working out. I did manage to do some prepping for the week, making my time productive...kinda. In other news I weighed in at 151.5 today 5.5 lbs lighter than week 1 of last challenge! WTF I was not expecting that. Hope I can keep it up for the next 6 weeks. If I can, I should be back around my comfortable weight of 145lbs. The best part is that I have still been able to eat all the things, just in moderation. This week's daily calorie average has been around 1263. Not too bad. Week 1 I'm ready for you!!!! 3 Quote Ranger/Recruit/Professional Do-gooder Challenge #1, Challenge #2, Challenge #3, Challenge #4, Challenge #5, Challenge #6 Challenge #7, Challenge #8, Challenge #9, Challenge #10, Challenge #11, Challenge #12, Challenge #13, Challenge #14, Challenge #15, Challenge #16 , Current Challenge "The Hardest thing in this world is to live in it. honeybadger
Captain's log, Stardate 41100.0. I've begun my 6 week challenge not with a workout as planned. Instead I was treated to a dinner by our houseguests. I rangered dinner by eating ALL THE FOODS! I did indulge in bread and cheesecake but my dinner was fairly healthy. Grilled chicken, broccoli rabe sautéed with procuttio, grilled peppers, portobello mushroom and asparagus. There were also mashed potatoes but I only ate a few bites. I only ate half (portion was huge) and will have the rest for lunch or dinner tomorrow. Calories consumed. No clue. Clean eating for the rest of the week to compensate. Gym bag for tomorrow, already packed and ready to go. 1 Quote Ranger/Recruit/Professional Do-gooder Challenge #1, Challenge #2, Challenge #3, Challenge #4, Challenge #5, Challenge #6 Challenge #7, Challenge #8, Challenge #9, Challenge #10, Challenge #11, Challenge #12, Challenge #13, Challenge #14, Challenge #15, Challenge #16 , Current Challenge "The Hardest thing in this world is to live in it. Raxie
I really like the adventerous, switch it up sort of approach to your challenge. It's really exciting! I'm not a trekkie, it's the one real nerdy thing I have never really embraced. But because rangers gotta ranger in all things, even nerding, I have been trying to watch through all the original series. It's slow going but it's so entertaining. 1 Quote forty-seven: Raxie and the Joining of Unlike Things << previous challenges >> >> instagram || goodreads << Link to comment

honeybadger
Way to ranger dinner! Thanks. My rigorous training paid off. I had to hold off from finishing my dinner, I didn't want to be accused of showboating. Mmmmm. I love eating all the things! Love the way you smile at the indulgence...and pack the gym bag for good measure. That's awesome balance. Thanks...I am learning to embrace the occasional indulgence. But because rangers gotta ranger in all things, even nerding, I have been trying to watch through all the original series. It's slow going but it's so entertaining. Thanks Raxie. I really wanted to make this challenge flexible and fun. Especially with the wildcard of work thrown in. Having to run a specific number of miles or exercise for a specific amount of time was a little stressful my first challenge. If I find myself cutting corners and slacking off I might need to adjust. It is never too late to join us on the Trekkie side of the street! I have been re-watching my favorite episodes in preparation for the challenge. honeybadger
Captain's log, stardate 41301.1. Today not a good day. It started with the ants. I woke up to ants all over our apartment. Don't know where they are coming from they seem to be wood ants of some kind...not at all interested in our food. It's a mystery. On the way to work I decided to take a different route to avoid what seems to be new crazy traffic and get hit by a car switching lanes without looking (I am fine, my car is drivable but banged up could have been much worse). While talking to my insurance company, realized that they did not have my current address. Updated address and increased my rate by over $40. Finally, once I got to work, I had a meeting with my boss and I might be losing my job (can't go into details. I live in a small community and work in a very small professional community). Things at work are going to go from tense to more tense and potentially ugly it is really a no win situation. Sooo I apologize in advance if I am a little less present from the boards. My plan is to stick to my goals for the challenge. I did not go to the gym mostly because I did not eat all day. Tomorrow will be a better day.
