Old Fashioneds are a world unto themselves, that is high praise indeed! BBQ was indeed a wise choice. Some day you'll have to come to Texas and have some brisket.

My friends make fun of my love of the Old Fashion, or as they like to call it my "old man drink." I stand by it. Although after last night, it will be hard to,find one as good...a quest I am happy to take on. Their brisket was the other recommendation made by my waiter but I went with his favorite the chicken. Besides after hearing about your awesome Texas brisket I feel like it may have been a let down! Guess I'll just have to make a pilgrimage to Texas for proper BBQ brisket.

Everyone should, really, it's just that most don't realize it.

Captain's log, Stardate 43610.8. Got another lunchtime workout in. I did 3.25 miles on the elliptical trainer in 30 min. I opted out of the last training of the day to go walk around Louisville and grab an early dinner. Partly because I didn't want to be walking home in the dark. Tonight's dinner was decadent and over the top definitely a YOLO meal but I have no regrets. I went to the historic Brown Hotel and ate in The Loby Bar. Totally beautiful. I ate the Hot Brown the Derby Pie (I will eat the pie, it's in the fridge for later). Glad I ate early to give me plenty of time to digest...I'm really feeling the heavy meal now. Tomorrow one more training and then heading home. I took Monday off for adulting.

Captain's log, Stardate 44710.8. Week 3 summary:

1. Explore strange new worlds: I went to the hotel gym at lunch twice. Rangered!

2. Seek out new life and new civilizations: My original goal was to post on 2 new threads each week, at least 1 must be outside of the guild. This challenge has been difficult to just keep up with my thread and those that I follow. That being said I have connected with new some new (to me) Rangers. I will count this a a win all things considered. I will keep working on it. Not entirely Rangered.

3. Boldly go where no man Honeybadger has gone before: I wanted to log 28 workouts this challenge. I was aware that this was going to be difficult but did not know how much work factored into my gym schedule. A 3-4 visit/week gym schedule is more reasonable. I hope to log 12 more workouts this challenge. My plan to run18 times this challenge is still within reach.

Today I have been busy adulting. Went to the market, did laundry and did some batch cooking. I made chorizo & kale soup and a pumpkin custard bake.

I did not weigh myself when I got home. I will check my weight after a few days of eating clean.

Spin class tonight yay!

Mmmmmm.  Your chorizo & kale soup sounds perfect for a chilly fall day.  Welcome back from your journeys.

Thanks! It is good to be home. It is the easiest soup to make and totally perfect for a warm & filling meal. Plus I feel healthy when I eat it  because it has kale and chick peas. After my diet debauchery in Louisville, I need a little diet redemption.

Gotta say though, I really love this particular challenge goal.  Goal-oriented social activity for the victory!

Thanks! I will continue to include a variation of this goal on all my challenges. As a homebody with some social anxiety, I often need a little kick in he ass to be social.

Captain's log, Stardate 44312.9. Spin on Monday night and run tonight. I plan on 2 more workouts (Friday and Saturday) this week. I did 3 miles in 31:07 with some incline stretches. The 5k I might run in two weeks has a gradual hill for the last 1/2 mile so I figure I should do some "hill" work. So far this week my calories have been back in the weight loss range.

Captain's log, Stardate 44513.10. I just Rangered the shit out of my run! I ran my fastest 5k time ever and my fastest single mile time. My total time was 29:51. The first 2 miles were done in 20:22 and if I did my maths right that means I did my final mile in 9:29. AND I weighed in at 149! I didn't lose (I didn't expect to after eating all the food while away) but more importantly I didn't gain.

Captain's log, Stardate 45114.10. Week 4 in review...

1. Explore strange new worlds: I have already met Rangered this goal for the challenge. I did hit the gym on a Friday night after work. According to my workout log, this is something I have not done before. Bonus.

2. Seek out new life and new civilizations: Still barely keeping up...but I will stick with it. I was checking in at lunch but with things so crazy at work, I have not really been taking a lunch.

3. Boldly go where no man Honeybadger has gone before: I got 4 workouts in this past week. Yay! I will fall far short of my workout goal but should exceed my running goal.

Still no candy...what! Halloween is coming, I hope I can resist.

My calories averaged a little over 1350/day. I can live with that.

No work today so I have been adulting.

Great job keeping up with your challenge! Halloween falls outside of this 6WC, so you can write some variances into your next one.

Captain's log, Stardate 45215.11. Gym tonight. Got a run in after a 1mile warm up on the elliptical. I planned on doing 2 miles but ended up doing 3 in 30:21. Felt pretty good. I have decided that I hate the elliptical trainer because it is so boring. How I miss my jumprope warmups. Got paid a very nice complement by a co-worker from another department on my weight loss. It was very sweet and flattering. Also hysterical as I was finishing a less than healthy cup of noodles for lunch at the time. Not so exciting is the weather report for the weekend. It is going to be unseasonable cold for the Halloween 5k I was planning on running. I don't do well running in the cold (breathing wise) so I will be playing it by ear. I have run the race 4 times before so it won't be like I am missing out too much.

Great job keeping up with your challenge! Halloween falls outside of this 6WC, so you can write some variances into your next one.

The surprising part is that I don't really miss candy as much as I thought I would. Don't get me wrong I would love to tuck into a bag of mini peppermint patties and swedish fish...but it's not worth it. AND I really want to see how long I can go without it.

My variances are my gummy multivitamin and the vitamin C drops when I was feeling sick.
