Mad Hatter
Ooph, I'm glad you don't need imminent surgery but tendonitis doesn't sound fun either. Heard it can take quite a while to heal. But it's good that you're starting the rehab process now, rather then when you get back on the silks. Which will happen? Right? Also, very nice list. Quote Link to comment

I got some simple (but hopefully effective) stretches and exercises from my PT and I'm motivated to heal, so I'm hoping things will go well. Zero news on re-opening of the silks gym, still. I'm essentially assuming that it's not going to happen, now, so that if it does, I will be pleasantly surprised instead of bitterly disappointed, or fruitlessly waiting for any kind of announcement of a reopening date. Mad Hatter
Sad news. Have you checked out if any pole studios have aerial? Or maybe try pole? Might have hoop too. Quote Link to comment
sylph
Pole's not my thing--too spinny. The local studios seem to be pole and pole only. Quote Link to comment

sylph
Yesterday went like this: Marathon meeting from 8.30 until 1.15 (at least they fed us) Dentist appt at 2p PT session at 4p Then 30 mins on the treadmill after I got home. In short, I feel like I accomplished nothing yesterday. My allergies are going NUTS this week. Snuffly nose and a head stuffed full of cotton. It's made it a bit difficult to get up and going the past couple days. Quote Link to comment

Still, I'm not sure how that's a nothing day. Busy day + still getting on the treadmill means sloth behaviour is someone else's problem yesterday, not yours. raptron
That is a busy fricking day and appointments are clearly getting things done even if they aren't things you necessarily want to get done. And yeaaaaah, the sniffles make things hard. starsapart
That sounds productive to ME. All day meetings are definitely rough, though, and make me feel like I should have accomplished more, too. sylph
Not a productive day in the sense that now I have a bunch of stuff to catch up on that I didn't get to yesterday. Things were done, just not the Things I Needed to Do. Ah well. Back to the grindstone today. Quote Link to comment
sylph
Slug, slug, slug. Went to PT on Wednesday, otherwise have done nothing. Bah. Unrelated to anything, I wish my life included things where it was appropriate to wear this dress. Yowza! Quote Link to comment
starsapart
Unf, that dress. I tried on a similar one the other day, such pretty, very expensive.... and where would I wear it? Sigh. How's PT? I tried on a similar one the other day, such pretty, very expensive.... and where would I wear it? Sigh. How's PT? Exactly! My life is not full of glamorous cocktail parties, alas! It's okay, I guess. I feel like they don't really get the fact that my shoulder doesn't actually hurt most of the time and my initial assessment was delayed from my last flare up, so I've actually not been painful much over the last couple weeks (including when I got my initial assessment) so this is about making sure the next time I bench press it doesn't flare, rather than alleviating any current pain issues. Also, I see a different PT every time I'm there because of how my schedule worked out. Didn't like the last guy much. And, they make me feel weird for arriving ~15 mins early for my appt, like I'm imposing on them by being prompt. Sorry, traffic is unpredictable so I will be a little early instead of very late. Definitely not a "they are so awesome, this is my tribe" kind of place, but if they can get me what I want so that I can bench press/push up/skin the cat without ridiculous noises and a lot of pain the next day, that's good enough. wow. apparently i have a LOT of feelings about this. 1 hour ago, raptron said: So pretty! Not sure we're close enough for me to make the invite list on that one. 56 minutes ago, karinajean said: I think you should get the dress if you love it. make up a reason to wear it. I already have a dress hanging in my closet that I did that with, though not as fancy, it's still slightly too swanky for work--I've worn it twice in 8 years. Still love it. Still wish I could wear it more. For that red one, even the fact that it's ~50% off doesn't make me feel like I can justify it. Plus, I may or may not have just ordered ~$100 worth of yarn to add to my knitting stash... Apparently I would like to wear super fancy clothes to sit around the house with my cats and play video games. heh. Quote Link to comment
