AugustaAdaByron
I've realised that if I wait for a 6 week challenge that does not include any travel days or holidays or important deadlines then I'll not do a challenge for a while. I'll be away from home from today (Friday 11th of September) until Sunday 20th of September and from Sunday 11th of October until Friday 16th of October. When I go away my routine changes and while I cannot do much about it I can still try my best to avoid it. The challenge goals will be different when I'm away than when I'm at home. There will be no workout goals as I have no control over them. I lift 3x/week and stretch on rest days. So here we go. 1. Don't spend rest days sitting down. I spent the past month going out running/walking three times a week when I was not lifting. However, with the winter approaching I'll get less and less motivated to get out of the house. The plan here is the following. Until the end of September...If I'm at home, I'll (keep lifting on M-W-F and) go for a walk on Saturday and on Sunday (walking to the supermarket for groceries and walking back from the supermarket counts as a walk). If I'm away, I'll lift both Saturdays and try to lift two times during the week. Otherwise, I'll just keep stretching all days.In October...If I'm at home, I'll (go back to my regular lifting schedule on Tu-Th-Sa and) go for a walk on Sundays (Bonus points if I also go for a walk on Saturdays)If I'm away, I'll keep stretching all days that I'm away and try to use the rowing machine at the gym where I'm going as there is no equipment for lifting there. The rowing machine can be replaced by walks. (Bonus points if there is snow and I try to ski.) If (month = September) Then If (not away) Then lift M-W-F and go for a walk on Saturday and on Sunday Else lift on both Saturdays and either lift two times during the week or keep stretching all days Else If (not away) Then lift Tu-Th-Sa and go for a walk on Sunday Else Keep stretching all days and try to use the rowing machine at the gym (Bonus points if there is snow and I try to ski) 2. Foooood I want to do a cut at some point. But in order to do a cut I should first find out how to do so. Ideally I'd like my macros to be around 45% carbs, 25% protein and 30% fat but I have noticed that my fat intake is higher than that and I rarely hit my protein or carb macros. The goal would be to tweak my eating habits so that I reduce fat while I increase the carbs. (Bonus points if by the end of the challenge I consistently eat about 250-300 calories less than the fitbit's estimation of my burned calories) If I'm travelling the goal is to eat a lot of vegetables (I tend to ignore them when I'm away). 3. Sleep My sleep schedule gets messed up when I go away (more so if it's a work trip and not holidays). The goal here is to get 6 to 7 hours of sleep when I'm away. Also, I'll have a lot of things to do when I come back from the trip that might keep me up working or cooking because I left work late and reached home late, etc. The goal is to get 6 and a half to 7 and a half hours of sleep per night. Bonus points for more hours of sleep. If (not away) Then sleep at least 7 hoursElse sleep at least 6 and a half hours Side Quest: Be more social at NF I've been here for a while but most of the time I suck at talking to people. I lurk at challenges and battle logs, think of stuff to reply but I don't. So my goal here is to bother you people. 5 Quote Level "I have no clue" Warrior Current challenge Battle log Link to comment

Tell us about your scheduled trips. Is it business or holiday? Quote Lvl 50 Ranger Hello! Is it cheese you're looking for? Link to comment
AugustaAdaByron
Tell us about your scheduled trips. Is it business or holiday? *lies down on the couch* I'd have to say a bit of both. They are definitely not holidays but most work trips feel like holidays as well. We are a very small community so whenever I have to go away for work I'm usually seeing the same people and since we have the same interests there's usually something common to chat about (not lifting though ) or board games to play in the evenings (usually while consuming a lot of beer - that I, however, don't drink because it doesn't agree with me very much). The first is in Greece so I get to spend this weekend and the next one at home seeing friends and get to work with friends during the week as well. The second one is not in Greece. It's at a ski resort (still in Europe). Selecting tempting locations is one way to convince a lot of nerds (I'm surrounded by nerds in real life too, just not nerds that lift) to travel somewhere AND spend a whole week in the same building. 2 Quote Level "I have no clue" Warrior Current challenge Battle log Link to comment

AugustaAdaByron
At first I thought that you might attend some conference but you lost me when you mentioned background music and laugh. Sam Ashen
The background music is a reference to how epic I might feel staring at formulas. The laughter being the other people laughing at the guy who feels so epic doing this. One of my co-workers says I am pretty much exactly like Sheldon, notwithstanding the fact I am a very messy desk person. Trying my best to explain in plain English, I am trying to calculate something and it does not fit the normal mold, so the spreadsheet we use will screw it up. This will involve a lot of staring at derivations and the video you linked reminded me of that. If I try to get any more specific, it will become babble in a hurry. 1 Quote Classless Human Male Warrior - Introduction Height: 1.77m Weight: 93 kg Spoiler Current Maxes: (repsxkg) Squat: 10x122.3, 5x138.2, 3x147; 1x170 Bench Press: 10x79, 5x93, 1x102 Deadlift: 10x152, 5x192, 3x210, 1x229 Overhead Press: 10x52, 5x61, 1x70.3 Current Battle Log: 1707 Sam Ashen Summer Swole Program 2017 Challenges: 1701 1702 1703 1704 1705 Previous Challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 1603 1604 1605 1606 1607 1609 1610 1611 1612 Daily Log:The Daily Grind Form Check: Stronglifts Olympic More FC's: Pistol Squats Want to play? AugustaAdaByron
I've been called Sheldon (messy desk and house and not being smart aside). All the quirkiness though. Yeah, trying to explain what I do would also become babble. I think the video is a very accurate description though (with just a hint of self-sarcasm).
