Intro the challenge 5



Wow, I can't believe this is already my fifth challenge here at Nerd Fitness. I have learned a lot from each challenge, and grown quite a bit. Last challenge I started bulking for the first time, went on my first date in years, got into a great routine with my lifting. This challenge I want to focus on staying grounded, bulking, staying consistent, walking through fear, and keeping things simple. I was struggling with a theme for this challenge, but I looked at my book shelf and though my favorite comic might be the way to go!

For this quest I must tear it up on lifting. I will start with the amounts listed below and add 5 pounds post each sessions.

Getting school done = very worthwhile goal.

 

I haven't seen those characters before, it says Neil Gaiman?  What series is it exactly?

 

I like how you related them all to your goals!

Thanks, the characters are all from his comic "The Sandman". If you haven't heard of it I highly suggest it, for it is in my opinion the best work by Neil Gaiman by far. (Yes, it is better than American Gods).

I like your challenge :)

But 700XP could be a little low for you. We'll see after the first week, what's the right balance.

Max for destiny is 120 XP.

35 workouts would be 700 XP. But that's six workouts a week.

1166 miles is 700 XP.

How was your Hunger Games weekend? Did the kids enjoy, what you set up for them?

On my bus ride I listened to the first book and liked it a lot. I'll finally read the other books, when I get back home.

The kids loved it, they basically got to run around and fight with foam weapons for a few hours. Though drawing a few up as bees and putting paint on their hands to be "tracker jakers" was super cool. I actually haven't read the books, only seen the movies. How was it?

Oh, like elven said, it's a light read. But I liked the audiobook and it's nice to read something not study related from time to time. I'm listening to the English audiobook and really enjoy it. They were in an audiobooks bundle half a year ago. And I think the progress of the charakter in the first book was ok. I hope the second book will be as good.

English books really help me to learn English when I was a teen. I was so excited to know what would happen to Harry, that I good book four and five in English, because I didn't want to wait for the translation. Game of Thrones is even better in the original language. One day I want to read LOTR in English.

Do you enjoy Fantasy books? I hope your stress will pass and you have a good first week. I'm glad the weekend worked out. You put a lot of effort into it. Did your president snow costume work as intended?

Game of thrones is awesome in English, this is true. I read a a lot of different scif, fantasy, and all kinds of other books-one of the areas I may be the nerdiest. I had to make fun of myself today for be really excited about "Gatefather" by Orson Scott Card releasing a week from today and making my plans to buy it at the midnight release. My costume on the other hand-was pretty good, but set up for the event ran late and I never had time to change in to costume before I started my work as game master.

9-14-15:

Almost nothing done yesterday. I am still getting over being sick, and it was my first day back to work-so I let myself rest. I got a full hour of video games in, walked 1.7 miles, and blew off a workout-and I couldn't feel better about it!

Tuesday 9-15-15:

Simple day, I walked 5.4 miles, and spent a whole hour relaxing! Damn it felt good. I am so excited to start lifting again today!

Wednesday 9-16-15:

A nice simple day: I waled 2.6 miles, did a weight lifting session (man the squats have me sore today), and I spent an hour just watching tv!

9/18/15-9/20/15:

 

A damn good weekend! So many great things happened- I walked 12.7 miles, did two workouts (Friday and Sunday), finished all this weeks school work, hit an AA meeting, went the MU Football game (which we won against uconn!), and I even got to spend a day at the Missouri Heritage festival (so much bluegrass and folk music!). An awesome weekend for me!

Monday 9/21-Thursday 9/24

A crazy week. four double shifts in a row, and more to come!  I need some sleep! But I pulled off getting all of my school work done for the week, a lifting session, and walking 14.6 miles total. Only one more double day with little sleep, then I get to drive to Atlanta (10 hours) on almost no sleep!

Monday 9/21-Thursday 9/24

A crazy week. four double shifts in a row, and more to come!  I need some sleep! But I pulled off getting all of my school work done for the week, a lifting session, and walking 14.6 miles total. Only one more double day with little sleep, then I get to drive to Atlanta (10 hours) on almost no sleep!

Stay save. I hope you get there without compications. Is it a trip for work?

Is there a way to go there by train or is it too expensive. Driving a long time with almost no sleep seems dangerous.

Update for the last few days:

Atlanta was awesome. I haven't traveled in so long, and it adore the southern region of this country. I walked a total of 7 miles and got a lifting session in, but the most important to me was to get a chance to mentally relax for a few days, and damn does it feel good to be home.

Update for the last few days:

Atlanta was awesome. I haven't traveled in so long, and it adore the southern region of this country. I walked a total of 7 miles and got a lifting session in, but the most important to me was to get a chance to mentally relax for a few days, and damn does it feel good to be home.

Cool that you could get some time off and regenerate some energy. You deserved it. Especially after such stressfull work days.

Tuesday and Wednesday (9-29/9-30)

What a crazy couple of weeks it has been. Despite my 3 day trip to Atlanta, everyday I have worked a double over the last two weeks. So I have ended up doing 14 hour shifts everyday, and I have been doing school on top of that. So,  honestly haven not been able to lift much at all. I am just looking forward to Sunday where I can catch up on hour and hours of school work, and then fit in a little lifting session as well! Also, I pulled of 6.6 miles over the last two days just by walking around consultation calls.

Whew, that made me tired just reading it! Working doubles and school is hard, definitely don't worry about missing the lifting.

 

Do it when you have time!  Sometimes life makes you take a deload week.  At least you got some walking in! 

 

How are you tracking that by the way, I keep meaning to ask you?
