My goal for this challenge is simply to climb back on the NF wagon gently by making life as easy and stress-free as I can. This will involve: 1. Walk! STA+2 CON+2 CHA+1Fairly simple to explain, I'll just strap on my pedometer, get up and walk around.A = 221k steps and overB = 211k - 220k stepsC = 200k - 210k stepsF = Under 200k steps 2. Organise! DEX+1 CON+1 WIS+2 CHA+1Using a blend of the techniques described in Marie Kondo's book, The life changing magic of tidying, the philosophies found in James Wellman's Stuffocation, and the topics covered in the 15 days to a new organised you articles at www.athriftymrs.com I'll be getting my act together this challenge and making life easier for myself. I have worked out 15 categories to cover so I will spend at least 2 days concentrating on each category. I'll record what I am doing on a chart and this will probably involve awarding myself shiny stickers for keeping myself on track.A = 25 days and moreB = 20-24 daysC = 15-19 daysF = Fewer than 15 days 3. For the rebellion! WIS+3 CON+1 CHA+1There are so many hard-working and inspirational people here at NF that I really want to get back in and surround myself in it all. Perhaps I can pick up some of that awesomeness via osmosis diffusion. So every day I will read another person's challenge, battle log or NF article and will make at least one positive comment. I was away for the weekend and so didn't do any dog walking however I did plenty of exploring and walking around town. I am happy with that. I haven't done a workout since the end of June but already I can see my stamina is beginning to return and jogging with the dog is getting easier (when I am able - it's muddy outside and I can't run in wellington boots) OrganisingI have consciously worked on my organisation categories for 5 days out of 7 this week. On the other days I was preparing for future categories but that basically equates to shopping for being organised and not actually working on my plan LOL RebellionIt is so much fun reconnecting with people here at the rebellion and I have commented positively on different peoples' threads at least once each day so that's 7 days crossed off my calendar with no missing days. I am enjoying seeing so many different people who share goals like mine and have discovered inspiration for future goals. The shelter reckoned he is approx 3 years old but I think he is younger. WalkingI have recorded 43137 steps this week which takes me up to 49% of my C grade 200k target. I didn't log any steps on Sunday because I spent the day at home tidying, cleaning and organising. There was no pocket for my pedometer in my pyjamas LOL OrganisingI've made really good progress on organising; I have been mindfully noting my routines and habits which has given me an insight into my life and what I can do to better organise it. On Saturday I bought a label printer and have been labeling ALL the things. I have made an up-to-date address book (using index cards in a box I already had spare) and am using the planner on my phone as my diary / calendar. I have sorted out all my bathroom stuff and toiletries. RebellionI missed making a comment on Saturday but have commented positively on 6 days out of 7 this week; sometimes more than one positive comment per day! People here are so awesome. I have been learning from others as well as sharing words of wisdom where I can. I am going through a stressful time at work this week but having a break and connecting with other rebels here is so valuable. sozzielou Posted October 6, 2015 Author Report Share Posted October 6, 2015 End of week 3 - the half way point - round up WalkingI have walked 49739 steps this week - 2 of the days (when I was away) were both well over 10k steps per day. Pedometer man says "woohoo!" This takes me up to 72% of my C grade 200k target, about which I am very pleased. OrganisingI've been a bit lax on my organising this week, logging just 2 days. The main reason for this is that I was away from home for 4 days (long weekend) and it's not really possible to work on my organising when I am not at home. I have worked really well on the morning and evening routine category this week and I have got down what I need to do, what I do and a plan for how I could do things in a more organised way. So this part of my quest wasn't a total bust this week, but at the half way point I have done 13 days of organising which is half of my A grade target of 25 days so I am happy with that. RebellionA full house this week; I have contributed a positive comment to another person's battle log or challenge thread on 7 days out of 7 this week. Even when I was away on my long weekend in the city, I made the time to browse the NF forum and discovered more awesome people doing awesome things. I've had a couple of days off work (holiday) and it hasn't been my usual routine at all. I spent Saturday indoors doing all the organising and so wasn't wearing my pedometer. I have been walking around, and taking the stairs, but no dog walking for a few days means I have walked 31231 steps this week. Lower than my usual, yes, but still I have been active and doing things. I have reached 86% of my target C grade which is still good progress. OrganisingI've been good with the organising this week, logging 4 days of solid progress. This takes me to 15 days of organising so far. This is really good and I am definitely seeing improvement. I am finding as I go along I find more things which need organising. But this is simply reinforcing what I thought at the start of this challenge - I have been neglecting this area of my life somewhat and need to work on things. I choose not to feel overwhelmed, but to feel positive and celebrate my progress. I even labeled Edna! RebellionI missed Monday this week (thought I had commented when actually I hadn't) but still added something positive to another rebel's thread on 6 out of 7 days this week. I have not missed 2 days in a row at all so far, and am still on track for the completion of this aspect of my challenge. I thought, being 4 weeks in to this challenge, that I would be having trouble finding new people and new threads to comment upon. But boy was I wrong! I am still discovering awesomeness in many places, and I don't have to look very hard to find it. There is so much wisdom here and so many inspirational things going on. I've topped 200k steps for this challenge which was my target (satisfactory) C grade. Of course I'm not stopping here; week 6 will be all about going for a shiny gold star grade A! OrganisingI have been concentrating really hard on various areas of organisation this week. Things at work have calmed down now and, although I will be busy in the run up to Christmas, work is much less stressful and am back to a better routine for me now. I am pretty pleased with how my drawer dividers are working out and storing clothes with their "spines" showing (a la Konmari method) is proving useful.I realised I have been using a COUNT rather than a COUNTA in my organising spreadsheet log, so on days where I spent time on more than one category they haven't been counted. So I have amended my spreadsheet and realised I have actually accomplished 22 days so far of organising so am actually well on my way to a grade A and am not struggling to achieve a grace C as I initially thought! Woohoo!! RebellionThis week has been good and I am definitely getting into a basking in the NF forum awesomeness routine. I have commented positively on different people's challenge threads every day this week. It has been good to see other rebels with similar challenges to mine and being able to share the wisdom of this wonderful place.
