QRG Apocalypse Preparation

The world is a dangerous place.  I'm hoping to prepare for whatever might be coming.  Never hurts to be ready.

If its zombies, I'll need to run and carry supplies or weapons.  I'm going to run or ruck once a week every week.  Either one, as long as I get out there and do it.  

 

A=6

B=4-5

F= 3 or less

If its aliens, I need to be ready to hold back all kinds.  I'm going to be lifting 4 times a week.  

A=23-24

B=18-23

C=12-18

F=less than 12

If its nuclear or atmospheric, I'll need to be able to fit and hide anywhere I can find that is safe and wait out any storms or waves of weather.  Or mutants.  I'll be working on yoga and meditation 3 times a week.

A=17-18

B=12-17

C=9-12

F= less than 9

And if its sickness, I need to be at my best when it hits.  This goal is to eat healthy 6-7 days a week.  

A=36-42

B=30-35

C=24-29

F= less than 24

Whatever the enemy, I want to be ready.  Here are some side quests to help me get things in line. I'm sure the list will grow as we go along.

 

_X_Check out archery classes nearby

_X_ Look into some kind of fighting education

_X_Knit all the things! (_X_socks, _X_toys for holiday gifts, _X_blanket, __browncoat, _X_running gear, _X_shawl)

_X_ Pay off 800 debt (800/800)

__ Paleo/healthy recipes into their own book/s

__ Plan ahead for food on lazy days to avoid the pizza problem

_X_Homework!  Before zombies.

_X_Stealth -  Startled the boss.  Twice.

_X_ Hobbies/Skills - Knitting!  Complete Rangers Helper

I'm thinking my reward if I can when I make this one happen should be a new pair of chucks.  For lifting.  Because.  Yes. And as usual, if I can manage 10 bonus points, I'll get a reward workout tank top.

 

**EDIT:  No money for new shoes.  I'll probably get some off brand pretend chucks or something to replace my old worn out ones.  But I will get a reward workout tank from the stash.

It's too bad it's not currently 9 years ago. I could have helped you with your sidequest. I used to teach Eagle Claw Kung Fu on the IU campus.

 

But no doubt you still have your choice of over 30 martial arts there.

 

Good lord that was a whole other lifetime ago.

HedgeMage helped me figure maximums last night for deadlift (160) and overhead press (55).  That was fun.  I can't wait to get my squat and bench press next!  I am glad I've got this zero week to stretch and plan and get other things done and ready.  I'm a little stiff from last night.  

 

Ooh!  And I'm getting my first lifting callus.  I should maybe not be so excited about that....  But I totally am.

The deadlift needs to be adapted in a manner that the bar can be thrown at zombies or something.  Only then will I consider it a proper zombie preparation activity.

 

Who am I kidding, I love to deadlift.  Who cares if it counts as zombie prep or not!

For a sec I was like "WTF Rurik disapproving Deadlifts?" Hahaha

In every situation, whenever you need to lift something HEAVY, all the hours you spent preforming Deadlifts while your competitors/enemies where sleeping or goofin' off shall give you the edge. The best exercise ever

Power cleans + thrusters might do the trick.

 

Or just imagine crushing the zombies' heads when you put the bar down. Crunch, crack, splat. Crunch, crack, splat.

We're overthinking this. Zombies are dead. Deadlifts have the word dead in them. When she is deadlifting she is channeling the physical effort with her mind to telekinetically throw the zombies up into the air so that they splat and are dispatched.
