Thank you! <3 I know the feeling that has been me since I started this up again. except my wanting to quit is week 2.... But that is why we have the Doodlies! To keep us on the wagon or at least on the forums which helps keep us accountable to some degree. Thank you JC! Maybe it is a bit odd that I start worrying BEFORE the start. I just see all those possible problems (like not being fit yet) and I'll probably get my wisdom teeth removed at some point during this challenge and all that... and I think I won't make it to 100% so why bother. Not that not trying will help. OMG... love the kittens! Too much cute.There can never be enough cats on the interwebs! I definitely have the 100% or bust problem as well. I just don't do well with moderation. My "half-assing it" quickly becomes "no-assing it". Don't quit. We're here for you and believe in you and you're gunna do awesome! Wait... There was french mutiny in the toast club? 100% true. But then the internet is about 90% cat pictures, so it seems we are on the right path already. I'll check to see if you keep up with the half-assing then. (There was a revolution, they fought for their independence... now they'll see what they get for that.) I used to be like this. Try scoring yourself weekly out of 100%. Then, if you have a lapse, you can still get other 100%s. And if the wheels do completely fall off, make yourself some easier goals because it's a mental thing. The most important thing is to keep trying to achieve things so get that bit down first. Then try to make those achievements progressively harder. But keep going. Always! Maybe I should do that, thanks Def. Messing up one week doesn't sound quite as bad. I might change goals if something really is about to ruin the challenge for me. It worked well enough when I was ill. You're awesome, thank you so much. THIS. I've struggled with the all or nothing mentality a lot before, and for me the most important thing isn't doing X item Y amount of times a week for Z minutes, it's about building small wins and giving myself positive momentum. A lot of the time I start with ridiculously easy goal (like meditate for 1 minute) and give myself full credit for that because it's way better than 0 minutes. And it does really help, I tend to get a lot more done when I take the pressure off. Make your goals a bit more flexible if you can and don't worry about doing a challenge, a week, or a day perfectly, just do one minute of each thing and it adds up! Thanks Spooky! This is a thing I struggle with in many areas. I did that with my papers as well. Well, I did them in the end. But most of the time I was procrastinating it was in areas where I was sure I wouldn't get it perfect. (If there is such a thing.) "Why bother if it won't be good anyway?" ... kind of like that. It is odd to see how you can be aware of these things, but overcoming them is still a completely different struggle. I did follow your advice though. Just getting started should help in some areas. It's the Week 0 pressure. All that foreshadowing of our future failures but mostly successes. You're lucky though. Since you're a doodlie there is no escape anyway. Thanks Shello! When asked what power she wanted she said she wanted two:1 - To be able to turn boys into ice cream2 - To make kittens appear when ever she wants. ninjakitten Posted November 3, 2015 Author Report Share Posted November 3, 2015 Quest # 1 – DietTrack everything you stuff your face with. (2/7) I wasn't doing well with MFP lately, so I switched to pen and paper for a change. First 2 days I managed. (Also as part of the fitbook thing not eating after 9pm... cause less snacks or so.) So far it's going well. Although looking up calories sucks, too. I don't know yet. But since I wanted to use the fitbook I'll stick with it for now. Quest # 2 – ExerciseMove for 30 minutes every day. No matter which form of exercise. Also plan it in advance. (2/7) This is part of my duties as a villain this week. (Which definitely does make it more fun.) I decided for yoga as I am not fit yet and what can I say... I am not fit yet. I did 30 minutes yesterday and 40 minutes today. The hardest part so far is breathing. It usually isn't for me - not that I'm perfect - but it is nothing I usually consider to be THE most challenging part. But atm it definitely is. Quest # 3 – WATERAt least 8 glasses a day + tracking. (2/7) I managed so far, but I end up drinking a huge part of it in the evening when I'm home and not really evenly distributed throughout the day, so this is something I could still improve. Tracking helps, I tend to overestimate how much I drink. (Sadly enough that is NOT what happens with my food intake.) Sidequest10 minutes of cleaning each day. (2/7) Also part of my goals as Veronica Cale. Yesterday I spend quite a bit of time on sorting through old files and shredding them and ... eew old paperwork. I'm glad it's gone. And cleaned the bathroom wall tiles... for the first time in forever. I don't know, it's not fun. Today I continued with my own windows. (It was no longer freezing though, once the sun was out it was actually a pretty nice day, so no extra points for this.) If anyone else hates cleaning windows and leaves streaks everywhere while cleaning.. once the windows are dry rubbing alcohol on newspaper is great. I always thought everyone does that. But old people made me realise that isn't quite true. So maybe it can make cleaning windows less of a pain in the ass for someone else, too. That would be awesome. <3Unless you smoke while cleaning, maybe then it isn't as ideal. Although once everything is on fire you can stop worrying about streaks on your windows I suppose. (And I heard denim is great. Instead of newspaper. Haven't tried that yet, though.) 8 Quote Link to comment
