Tanktimus the Encourager
I use a squeeze bottle when I need to. It works for me but it took some faith the first time I tried it. Important to remember is to get the temp of the water to match your body temp as close as possible. To cold and it will feel very weird. Too warm and you will wish you had never been born. 2 Quote Current Challenge "By the Most-Righteous-and-Blessed Beard of Sir Tanktimus the Encourager!" - Jarl Rurik Harrgath Link to comment
Eureka
Ahhh I don't want you to be sick! Sending lots of healing healthy vibes your way. Get your rest, chicken broth and ginger tea.....those are my go tos. It also took two days, but I figured out gifs finally...well there was one image in particular that the site didn't like that was taking me ages to figure out. ellis_e
I'll join in with everyone else and congratulate you on the great-looking challenge! The pictures are beautiful and I love the idea of the yule ball. Oh, and the knitting and the hat and the gillyweeds. I hope you'll post a picture of the finished hat in time. Hope you manage to fight off the evil cold and are already feeling better. If not, you've set up an awesome start for yourself to adjust/come back to. I'll be cheering/following along! 1 Quote "There are some good things to be said about walking. Not many, but some. Marauder
TRAINING LOG: WEEK 0, DAY 5 Feeling a bit better today so far, energy-wise anyway... I'm super achy though. It might be the repercussions of my sloth-like existence yesterday. I am having a rather "up" day so far though. The husband gets home from his business trip tonight and he has been missed. It's also nearing the end of the semester for my kids (both in high school). They both have excellent grades this term and I'm feeling proud. They are pretty smart kids, but the good grades come with a lot of work on their part, and its exciting to see them motivating themselves to get it all done. My daughter texted me this morning on her walk to the bus that she could see the planetary conjunction (Mars, Venus, Jupiter) in the sky and how cool it was. So awesome to watch them grow into themselves! I think I'm going to try the workout today, but stick with the bodyweight one I've been doing. I haven't missed one since I joined NF! Even if I can just get in some of it, I'll feel better about it. I'll save the new dumbbell workout for the actual challenge next week. I will get my walk in later too. I'll skip the photos until next week. I've been saving up some ideas though. ETA: Workout done. It wasn't pretty, but done. Can't break the streak! 7 Quote Rangering since Sept 2015 Link to comment

I lived up north in Cache Valley for a while years ago and still have family all over the state... NM is different, more browns and different shaped trees. We always say it is beautiful when you step back and look at the big picture but up close it can be barren and ugly. The mountains keep us sane because the dry valley floor isn't our favorite! I hear ya about the photos and the kiddos growing up fast. The air is SO much better up there too. If we didn't rely on the city public transport so much here, I'd move up there in a second! New Mexico could be a very interesting place to retire. I'm adding it to my list. Then again, now that I've spent several years getting allergy shots, it would suck to move and possibly have to start over!!! Ack! Marauder
TRAINING LOG: WEEK 0, DAY 6 Alright folks, one more day "off" and then the training for the challenges really begins!! Feeling MUCH better. Yay! Sadly, kids are sick now... boo! Today finds me failing at baby steps, but winning at enthusiasm! I'm now participating in 3 PvPs... Beer Yoga (which is mostly just fun really), Minimalism challenge (which I've sort of been doing anyway, but some accountability is good), and the biggie... RuckFit Light (in which I get my ass kicked). Also, all signed up and charactered up for the Ranger mini-challenges. Yeah, a bit of a baby step failure, but I'm feeling okay about it. I think it will be good for me to stay busy with the cooler weather and darker days coming. I've also been entirely enraptured by the balancing poses Nymeria is posting over in her thread and seriously want to start dabbling in that area. I could SO get into that. I need to figure out how to get started though first. This may be a side private venture for fun for now, but I could see this being a thing next challenge... (yeah, I said next challenge already and this one hasn't even started... yikes. Who am I?) 6 Quote Rangering since Sept 2015 Link to comment

Nymeria
OMG, that gif! I'm horrified and mesmerized, all at once. You've made a big impact on the Rangers and you're only into your second challenge! I see great things coming from you. I agree with Rurik! You definitely fit in really well with the Rangers! (yeah, I said next challenge already and this one hasn't even started... yikes. Who am I?) The best way is to start with crow pose. Conveniently, I made a tutorial for it many challenges ago, and it's linked in my signature. But I'll also post the link right here. It should be very possible to squeeze in even during this challenge, since you can just kind of play with it a little whenever you have the time or inclination. Once you develop a really solid crow pose, you can pretty easily start dabbling with just about any other hand balancing pose. 4 Quote Level 30? who the hell knows anymore? They were right there in your signature. Thank you, thank you, a million times thank you! I'm very excited to work on this.
