I still have the same goals as my first challenge, so it won't be much different. I already know I will be running into issues since I will be packing up and moving to a few places in the midst of this, but I will do my best! For this reason, also, I will not be making this fancy.

I'm active duty Air Force and currently deployed, but I would like to achieve a 100% on my next PT test upon my return to home station! In order to do that I need to run the 1.5mile in ≤10:51 and be able to do ≥46 push-ups in 1 minute. I always max out my sit-ups and waist measurement, so I'm really just focused on the running and push-ups.

main quest - complete mock PT test consisting of push-ups and 1.5 mile run + gauge progress made from end of last challenge (10-28-15 1.5mi - 12:30 31 push-ups)

quest uno - follow the hundred push-ups program (3 days per week) STR CON

A- +3 STR +2 CON

B- +2 STR +1 CON

C- +1 STR

quest dos - perform interval sprints (3 days per week) DEX

A- +3 DEX

B- +2 DEX

C- +1 DEX

quest tres - follow the 20 pull-ups program (3 days per week) CHA

quest cuatro - follow the 30 Day Plank Challenge (5-6 days per week) STA

Hopefully I'll be coming home towards the end. I will definitely have some hiccups from moving through a few countries during this challenge.

OK, I'm subbing because you're doing all the same stuff I want to do/am doing - pull ups, push ups, sprints, core work, learning another language. Like Steve's last blog post said, find the people that are doing the same stuff. Looking forward to seeing you do well.

Alright, so I haven't actually had a chance to update. Small tidbit here, my anxiety is high at the moment and I am debating dropping out of this 6-week challenge. I have moved bases and I'm back to 12 hour shifts and they changed my shift to nights, so I don't even know how my body will react to having just traveled between countries and flip-flopped my sleep schedule...I should be exercising right now, but I can't seem to motivate myself to get going. I still have to shower and eat before work, and everything is so far apart, it takes quite some time to walk everywhere. I don't know if I'll have the time to fit everything in, so of course I haven't tried...that and everyone stares here. I'd have to do my pull-ups in the gym, or clear on the other side of the base, neither of which seem like viable prospects for either my anxiety or my schedule. I was previously running and doing pull-ups at night where no one was around, and push-ups and planks were done in my room. I hate feeling like this. I hate people. I just want to be left alone. Any time I have worked out in this gym in the past, I have been asked to move or told what I'm doing wrong. I'm ok with being corrected, but that means someone is always watching me. I hate being watched! I believe I have successfully sat on my bed (dressed and ready to go, of course) for long enough that I can abandon exercise. My husband called me a lazy butt for considering dropping the challenge, but it has nothing to do with laziness and everything to do with stress.

Whatever you do, don't drop out. Adapt your goals, completely change them, but don't give up. Make goals that will work for you for the next 4 weeks. Start small if you have to, make the goals simple, but don't drop out. 

 

Sorry people are assholes at the gym. Nowhere is it written in stone you have to work out at the gym. Do bodyweight stuff at home, run, do something.

I just wanted to chime in and note that when I was actively working with my music, the recordings I did had to be taken in absolute privacy, with no one around. Which meant a bomb shelter a couple of hundred meters underground at midnight.

I'm undecided as to whether that is good or bad, but the recordings turned out pretty awesome. :D

So maybe all I want to say is that on a certain level I completely understand the need for privacy. Hope you get the gym situation under control.

BTW Where ya at with the 100 pushups thing? I'm considering hopping in again.

Thank you for the encouraging words, all. I guess I just need to take some time to think about how to adapt here. I may have to just put pull-ups aside for a few weeks, since that's the one giving me the most trouble. Such a bummer! I was doing really well!

and I seemed to keep struggling with it, so I just kept doing it. I haven't done any push-ups since I was at the other base, so I'm not sure where I'm at with them now. I feel like I lose strength so quickly, it's very discouraging.
